823 | What was the point of the temptation ? | Matt 4:1 | azurelaw | 193160
Dear Jesusman, Greetings to you, brother. I have to admit in my opinion, you have asked a good, but heavy question. Hope the dicussion would not fall into the tempter's hands to be argumentative, but instead we are blessed by God to learn more and be edified. In reading the interesting dicussion, I have attempted to make a search on the subject and found an aritcle in the below site which I think should be helpful for us to understand the issue. Hope you would take some time to visit. Shalom Azure http://www.apostolic.net/biblicalstudies/temptationofchrist.htm |

826 | How much of Torah is to be followed? | Rom 7:4 | azurelaw | 192966
Dear Y'shua Ha Mashiach Talmid, Well, you've got a pretty long user name. I hope my post would not sound rude to you. I appreciate your diligent study on the Bible and your effort put in studying Hebrew, too. However, I believe we can still understand post pretty well even you write only in English. Your insert of those Hebrew words though seems rather interesting, I am sorry they would sometimes confused my reading. I believe you will also be confused if I use the same pattern to write my post in Chinese, say : sheng ling (Holy Spirity), fa li sai ren (Pharisee), Yage (James), xing ye quan shu (the New Testament)... and so on. :-) While making use of the original language in explaining scriptures are usually needed, however, when it comes to be overly used could cause redundancy. I apologize if I offended you. Yet, I think the media of communication in this forum is English unless where there is a necessity. zhu en chang zai (God's grace be with you always) :-) ping an (Shalom) Azure |

830 | Why did God put us on earth with satin? | Genesis | azurelaw | 192545
Dear misteredd, You are responding to a very old post and I doubt you would get a reply from the questioner. It would be advisable to read throught the thread for better understanding before submitting a post or two. By the way, could you please provide us with sufficient scriptures for your logic? Finally, satin is a kind of fabrics for making clothes. :-) I cannot relate it to any product of sin. Shalom Azure |

831 | 23Someone asked him, "Lord, are only a f | Luke 13:20 | azurelaw | 192539
Dear Hillary, Please find below Bible commentary which should be helpful for your understanding. Shalom Azure ---------- And one said unto him, Lord, are they few that are saved? It is likely that this question was asked by a Jew, and that the two parables illustrating the smallness of the kingdom's beginning suggested it to him. The Jews extended their exclusive spirit even to their ideals of a world to come, so that they believed none but the chosen race would behold its glories. The circumstances attending to the conversion of Cornelius, recorded in Acts, show how this exclusiveness survived even among Jewish Christians. The questioner wished Jesus to commit himself to this narrow Jewish spirit, or else to take a position which would subject him to the charge of being unpatriotic. 13:24 Strive to enter in by the narrow door: for many, I say unto you, shall seek to enter in, and shall not be able. Strive. Literally, agonize. To enter in by the narrow gate. The passage should be compared with that in Matthew 7:13. There one enters by a narrow gate upon a narrow road, indicating the strictness of the Christian life. Here one enters by a narrow door upon a season of festivity, indicating the joyous privileges of a Christian life. For many, I say unto you, shall seek to enter in, and shall not be able. Jesus answers that "many" shall be excluded from the kingdom, and that the questioner, and all others who hear, need to exercise themselves and give the matter their own personal attention lest they be among that many. -- McGarvey and Pendleton |

835 | A divorced choir conductor cannot serve? | 1 Tim 3:2 | azurelaw | 192265
I know the topic of divorce has been discussed a lot in the past. However, my quick search on the subject seems could not find me something relevant to the situation. Does this overseer also apply to choir conductor? Are we to terminate the choir conductor's ministry due to his/her recent divorce despite his/her most willingness to serve? Shalom Azure |
