81 | Call those things that are not | Bible general Archive 1 | Jensen | 32019
Dear Mother S.......... You Wrote..."I watch Joyce twice a day every day Mon-Fri. I have learned a lot from her and I know very little.".....You will continue to know less and less twice a day every day Mon-Fri unless you dump this harmful teacher wanna-be. She wraps the truth around lies. And she knows it. God Bless....Jensen |

82 | Satan's will or God's will | 2 Tim 2:26 | Jensen | 32013
Dear Curt.... You wrote......"I think it is a miscalculation to say Satan has no power over us. If that were true, we would not sin." I speak of Christians...."The Devil made me do it" is no excuse for sin. If we sin due to a power not our own then we are no longer responsible for our sin. Indeed we can not be sinners by definition of missing the mark. There is no mark. If we are not responsible for our sin then we need not confess our sins; and we need no savior, no one to pay the price of our sin. Since we are not really sinners, but rather believers who are being forced to sin by a power, the problem is that of the power over us (Satan), not ours. We are left only with the hope that we have no free will to sin. You know that is icky. We would then have no will to accept Jesus since that would not be the will of this overarching other power. We become hopeless. But we are responsible for our sin. We recognize sin. Sin is our choice each and every time, no exceptions, no excuses. We feel the guilt of sin. Though we live in a sin filled world, we are not of this world since coming to Christ. To accept that Satan has a power over you to sin is to deny free will. But we can only come to Christ by our free will. Therefore, it is not a miscalculation to say Satan has no power over us. He is permitted to tempt……but it will remain our choice. God Bless….Jensen |

83 | Can a believer lose his salvation? | Luke 8:13 | Jensen | 31967
Dear Vony...Welcome to the Forum:-) Your one word reply/answer should be backed up with Scriptural support. What would you answer to someone who asks you for proof of what you say? Assume it is a Christian who asks. You both agree that the Word of God is without error so there you must find your support. Happy hunting!!! God Bless....Jensen |

84 | Lets life eachother up not judge! | 1 Cor 11:31 | Jensen | 31951
Dear Just....You wrote..."God said we should walk in love not judgement." Please provide the Scriptural support for the statement. I want to study it before I reply. Additionally you wrote "Lets not only listen to the word of God lets be doers and walk by faith. Bless you my sister!"....Doers of the Word would include Acts 17:11 "Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true." God Bless...Your Brother...Jensen |

85 | Are your friends true friends? | Prov 17:17 | Jensen | 31946
Dear just.....Words mean things.....so, for what it is worth to you.... FRIEND is defined..... 1 a : one attached to another by affection or esteem b : ACQUAINTANCE 2 a : one that is not hostile b : one that is of the same nation, party, or group 3 : one that favors or promotes something (as a charity) 4 : a favored companion And TRUE is defined..... 1 a : STEADFAST, LOYAL b : HONEST, JUST c archaic : TRUTHFUL 2 a (1) : being in accordance with the actual state of affairs *true description* (2) : conformable to an essential reality (3) : fully realized or fulfilled *dreams come true* b : IDEAL, ESSENTIAL c : being that which is the case rather than what is manifest or assumed *the true dimension of the problem* d : CONSISTENT *true to character* 3 a : properly so called *true love* *the true faith* *the true stomach of ruminant mammals* b (1) : possessing the basic characters of and belonging to the same natural group as *a whale is a true but not a typical mammal* (2) : TYPICAL *the true cats* 4 : LEGITIMATE, RIGHTFUL *our true and lawful king* We have a "true friend" in Jesus to be sure. Others exhibit true friendship at times. More importantly...What about your friends...Are they true? Or is this just a rhetorical question you ask? God Bless....Jensen |

86 | Why is the man the head of the home? | Eph 5:33 | Jensen | 31941
Dear just...You wrote "The man is the head, the woman the body because God said. Anything with two heads is a monster. Read Eph 5:22-33"......there is nothing about a two-headed monster in this passage. Please let the Scripture speak for itself. No hyperbole needed. God Bless....Jensen |

87 | What sin does not lead to death? | 1 John 5:17 | Jensen | 31938
Dear just…… No sin (almost any sin?) committed by a believer will lead to death. That is to say that eternal separation from God will not be the result of any sin of the believer. The sin has been atoned for. There is one sin that can not be forgiven….Matt 12:31 “And so I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. 32 Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.” But even this may not lead to eternal separation. I’m not sure. God Bless….Jensen |

88 | Lets life eachother up not judge! | 1 Cor 11:31 | Jensen | 31930
Dear just....Welcome to the Forum :-) You wrote.... "In the bible, we as christians should not judge others." My goodness!!!....how shall we ever know?....where lies the mission field? You have eliminated the need for any evangelicals. Show me your deeds and I will see your faith. Deeds follow faith of course but these deeds must first be the result of some judgement…..on someone or something. Matt 10: 14 “If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, shake the dust off your feet when you leave that home or town.” But how to do that without some kind of judgement is beyond me. Christians are called upon all the time to judge others. Not their salvation, of course, but their actions, words, deeds, lifestyles and so on. God Bless….Jensen |

Dear prophet ezra brown....Welcome to the Forum:-) You are preaching to the choir:-) Separately, I am curious about your screen name. Why do you choose "prophet" as part of the name. Additionally, if you plan to stay on the Forum you may want to provide some personal information on yourself by going to "Update User Info" button under Information on the left of this screen. It is a courtesy that helps respondents to put things in perspective when replying to your future posts. I hope and pray that you add your voice to this Forum on a regular basis. 90 | Satan's will or God's will | 2 Tim 2:26 | Jensen | 31904
Dear Curt....Welcome to the Forum......You Wrote:..... "The clear meaning of the text is that we are to hold each other accountable to God's Word, and by lovingly teaching and correcting each other, we will avoid Satan's snare."...... But of course we are accountable to "God's Word" but the scripture referenced applies to a "will" not the Word. The question is whose will is the Scripture refering to. So "escape from the snare of the devil" indicates that the "snare" is the will of Satan. Metaphors. Satan wants us to sin. It is the will of Satan that we sin. We choose to do the will of God or the will of Satan. Satan, his will or not, has no power over us. So please explain what "snare" means to the verse if not a metaphor. And the "clear meaning" of the verse would be what? :-) God Bless....Jensen |

91 | Satan's will or God's will | 2 Tim 2:26 | Jensen | 31871
Dear Searcher56....Would you reconsider? I agree that 1 Tim 3:1-7 applies to church leaders. 2 Tim 2:22-26, however, is a horse of a different color. These latter verses are not dealing with the church leader. They are instructing the church leader on how he should deal with others. As you say "context" is important. And translation/interpretation is crucial. I lay aside the Amplified, and the NLT, Message and some others when I am engaged in a study. I like the NASB and the NIV for their fewer mis-translations or mis-interpretations. Oh my.....if I (or we) could only read and understand the original languages :-) But even the translations I mentioned do not get the doctrine wrong and it really may not be significant except in cases when you use them as "scriptural proof" so much in demand on this Forum. God Bless....Jensen |

92 | Satan's will or God's will | 2 Tim 2:26 | Jensen | 31870
Dear aquila..... The NIV has it this way... "and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will." The "who" word is clearly a reference to the "devil" word in the previous phrase. The amplified is wrong. But then again there may be some obscure Greek idiom that I do not know of. But you can not use the ampified for study. But the NASB is good for study :-) God Bless....Jensen |

93 | In what way was Job supposed to suffer? | Job | Jensen | 31869
Dear, Dear, Samantha....Buy the nature and timing of your question(s), that is the fact that your "short" question is the same as your "full" question and that your questions are submitted at one minute intervals, it is plain that you are asking the good members of this Forum to do your group bible study homework. The questions you ask all have answers that would be apparent to you if you would read and study the book your group has chosen to study. The Forum will answer your questions but what have you really gained? God Bless....Jensen |

94 | In Jesus' name...except baptism? | Col 3:17 | Jensen | 31868
Dear Savannah....Just a point I want to make.. You Wrote:...... "Where does it say be baptised in the trinity? I know, I know Mat 28.etc... You wrote... A truely saved person in Christ will want to obey Jesus' commands. And if they don't?" An excellent straw man. But a straw man none the less. I'm not sure of your point but the key words in the reply you quoted were "a truely saved person" and I am curious to know if you believe a truely saved person would choose not to follow the commands (teaching) of Jesus. Whom better to freely choose to learn from and, therefore, obey willingly? God Bless....Jensen |

95 | Christian Response To Eastern Thought? | Is 55:11 | Jensen | 30553
Thank You Charis....Joe has provided an excellent resource. I disagree that knowing the movement will provide little help. If that were so we would not have the field of Christian Apologetics so involved with "knowing" the cults. We would not need to know anything of the Christian cults that are today leading young Americans astray. We would have more shelf space in any Christian bookstore. I think we must know the appeal of these cults if we are to fight against their influence. We battle for souls in many ways….that is because we are a church…..one body, many parts. We are all working together even though we ourselves would do a thing differently we still recognize the value of the other approaches. God Bless….Jensen |

98 | Christian Response To Eastern Thought? | Is 55:11 | Jensen | 30403
Sorry Joe......Staple as an adjective would mean PRINCIPAL or CHIEF and Resource as you know is A SOURCE OF INFORMATION or EXPERTISE. A staple resource would be a usual source of information. The place where I look regularly and go to most of the time is the site equip.org. But nothing there about the Falan Daffa. Aka Fulan Gong. God Bless....Jensen |

99 | Christian Response To Eastern Thought? | Is 55:11 | Jensen | 30399
Thanks again Joe for your reply. Taking the time with this is appreciated...You have helped me to re-think some things. You Wrote..."Exposing the errors of a cult is terribly effective at times in getting a person to reject that organization, but they are still as bound for hell if they are not going to embrace the truth.".... do you see that you have put my argument? The chicken does come before the egg:-) First, a rejection of the current belief; second, the acceptance of a new belief. But not simultaneously or even back and forth replacing each false part of a system of beliefs with the truth of the Christian belief system. Now on to those pesky cultists,....if I could just find some resources. God Bless....Jensen PS. Rom 1:16? I hope that you do not think that I am in anyway "ashamed of the gospel". |

100 | Is it a sin to marry outside your race? | Bible general Archive 1 | Jensen | 30274
Dear Samson....Welcome to the Forum. You have been offered pertinent Scripture verses. I want to add only that there is, biblically, only one race. We all came from Adam/Noah. It is evoultionaty thought that allows for more than one race. Evolution is the Big Lie. No one can give a single biblical verse that remotly discusses race as it is understood today. Marry a Christian regardless of the "race" and you will do well. God Bless....Jensen |
