83 | Can the soul actually be destroyed? | Matt 10:28 | Glory Bound | 130233
Mat 10:39 He that finds his life shall lose it, and he who has lost his life for my sake shall find it. Matthew 10:39 makes no such statement. READ IT AGAIN DEAR SOUL. As to Matthew 16:25 it is simply a reiteration of 10 :29 Mat 16:25 For whosoever shall desire to save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake shall find it. Likewise, this has nothing to do with the "soul being distroyed." Both these verses are referencing the fact that if one cares more for his life than he does serving Jesus, he will loose that life. And that if one has lost his life for Jesus, he shall find it. According to scripture, the soul is eternal. It will either spend eternity in Glory, or in "eternal damnation" which is the second death. When it comes to "thinking" this or that concerning the Living Word, one would be well advised to consider what scripture states. Particularily 2 Timothy 2:15-16 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. GB |

84 | How do you know the Bible is the word of | 2 Tim 3:16 | Glory Bound | 130231
Hopefully... So true are the words you relay, yet I like KJ's "itching ear" translation a little better. Likewise I also like KJ's "Study to shew thyself approved" rather than my # 2 versions "Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved." I'm sure you can tell me where those verses are found, but without peeking at my profile, can you name my #2 version? For the life of me, I can't figure which version "tickles" the ear. GB |

85 | Rule or Ideal? | 1 Tim 3:2 | Glory Bound | 130228
I'm not the one who brought up the question Hank. Just attempting to clarify my statement. If memory serves me right, I believe Pflugerville is a little east of I35 and about 10 or 12 miles north of Austin. When I left Huston, I didn't think I'd ever go back to Texas. Looks like I was right. The older I get, the longer those miles seem. I lived in Conroe for some time back in the early 80's. I remember that back then you could loose your whole front end in some of those pot holes in the interstate. Thanks for the invite though. Be careful with them there credit cards Hank. Them things is the devils own chains. In Christ GB |

86 | Rule or Ideal? | 1 Tim 3:2 | Glory Bound | 130183
Hank, you have read me totally wrong. I am blaming or shooting fire at no one. I made a simple statement, which could have, and has since been clarified, and I stick by what I have said to date. Language and terminology changes throughout the times. I'm sorry if you misunderstood my intentions in my post. Have a Gay day GB |

89 | A SIN TO FILE BANKRUPTCY | 1 Pet 4:10 | Glory Bound | 130180
True. And Very wise. I have pondered this fact. It is the nearest thing to coercion. But I'm sure the thought that two wrongs don't make a right will come in there somewhere. I'm sure that Ed is advocating "total" Christian control. He is probably right, but it totally depends on the individual circumstance. One could advocate "total" and absolute faith also. There could be so many fewer mountians. Lord! I can hardly wait till the waiting is over. GB |

90 | Rule or Ideal? | 1 Tim 3:2 | Glory Bound | 130179
Your thought is about as close as I could have worded it, with the exception of the essence of my thought, which I have a hard time putting into words myself. In an attempt... There is so much deception out there today that I have become, perhaps a little too leary of anything that has the slightest appearance of possible deception. I know there is a name for that. I call it my "gut feeling." Whenever I have gone against that "gut feeling" I have inevitably gone wrong. As an example, I believe in total fairness to everyone, no matter the appearance. Yet I have found that, to date, every time I have ever given anyone "the benefit of the doubt" when I experienced that "gut feeling," It has been proven that I should have gone with that "gut feeling" in the 1st place. Though Doc had no ulterior motive, I can only imagine what his phrase could have escalated into. It may sound a little dramatic, but it is not unimaginable that the a-bomb could have originated from a simple and pure curiosity on the part of an individual who wouldn't have hurt a flea. GB |

92 | A SIN TO FILE BANKRUPTCY | 1 Pet 4:10 | Glory Bound | 130065
I agree with you, but where does the moral obligation to forgive come in Ed? Likewise if we truly do unto others as we would have them do unto us, how can not understand and forgive the one who has no other option but to declare Bankruptcy, wash our hands of all our anger and walk away singing Jesus lover me? 95 | Rule or Ideal? | 1 Tim 3:2 | Glory Bound | 130062
Please forgive my vagueness. One of my many great faults is in assuming that others are aware of what it is that I am stating. For some reason, the term “one woman man” puts me in mind that the word marriage was being totally left out. Wife indicates a married woman. Woman simply indicates a woman. The fact that a man may have loved only one woman, though it could imply to some, actually does not in any way indicate marriage. It is the way of the enemy to imply what one would expect would be there, but when it comes down to the bottom line, that implication is totally ignored and most often undefinable because when the statement is examined, it did not say what may have been implied. In other words, the statement “one woman man” could easily be advocating just what it says. One woman, one man. Where is Gods ingredient? Marriage. "in such a day as this.” With the condition of morals and the sly tactics of the enemy this day and time… Need I say more? I do not yet know Doc. I was simply noting the implications I saw. I sincerely apologize if I have offended anyone who has misunderstood what I was saying. GB |

Great answer. The scripture you point out is the only answer to such a question. I am amazed that people can actually believe such atrocious claims. It is the enemys attempt to degrade the one and only actual occurance. GB |
