Hi Mark, You still have not addressed my MAIN concern, which is: IS PAUL OUR PATTERN TO FOLLOW? SHOULD WE CONDUCT OUR CHRISTIAN WALK ACCORDING TO PAUL'S EPISTLES ROMAN - HEBREWS? WHEN PAUL WAS THE APOSTLE TO THE GENTILES, WERE HIS EPISTLES ENOUGH FOR THEM TO WALK OUT THEIR CHRISTIAN LIFE WITHOUT EVER KNOWING ANYTHING ABOUT THE OLD COVENANT OR WHAT WAS IN MATT, MRK, LUKE, JHN, JAMES, PETER, REVELATION? ARE YOU JEW OR GENTILE? In Him and He in me |

Hi lionheart, Please read my reply to Mark, its title is (Hi Mark, I'm soooo sorry), then answer me again, please. I CERTAINLY did not mean to communicate that I thought there are two Jesuses. You told me Eph.4 makes it clear what Paul and the other apostles were preaching. However, are you aware that Paul had to withstand Peter to his face, Gal 2:11, because Peter and the disciples were still operating in the old dispensation of law, Judaizing? Paul and Peter separated, Peter went to the Jews while Paul to the Gentiles, Gal 2:7. Even Peter said he found Paul hard to understand 2Pet 3:15,16. In Him and He in me |

Hi Mark, I am soooo sorry...evidently I did not communicate my view very well. I certainly did not mean Jesus was two different people. God, Jesus, Holy Spirit is the same yesterday, today and forever...but their means of dealing with humanity are VERY different during the different dispensations. If you are a Gentile, Jesus was not sent to you as He walked on this earth as Jesus of Nazareth,Mat15:24, Mat 10:5, Mat 6:31,32, Jhn4:9). Jesus kept the law, all 613, wore tassels, was circumcised, tithed, agreed w/stoning disobedient children, etc. That's the Jesus I meant we do not follow. IICor 5:16 says though we have known Jesus after the flesh ,as Jesus of Nazareth, henceforth know we Him NO MORE!!! Heb. 8:6 says NOW he (Jesus) obtained a more excellent ministry....a mediator of a BETTER covenant...established on BETTER promises. God will always be omnipotent, all loving, omnipresent, omniscience, etc., etc..., but He does not deal with mankind today who has received His divinity in their humanity the way He dealt with Adam, Noah,Abraham,Moses, the prophets, etc. I noticed you did not address the fact that Paul says over and over in his epistles that he is our pattern to follow...which is what my question was...should we as Gentiles govern our daily Christian walk by the epistles Paul wrote (Romans through Hebrews? Read Rm 2:16 and 16:25,1Tim1:16, 2Tim 2:8 1Cor4:15,16, Act9:15,Gal 1:11, Ep3:2, Rm11:13, Act 22:21 and 26:16, there R others. Yes Jesus came to show us the Father... Our Father's attributes do not change, BUT His program and how He deals with us sure does change (read Heb 7:12). In Him and He in me |

"O Foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you..." The law is good, it's our schoolmaster. This is fine if you are a Jew. Read all of Galatians,Paul said in Galatians 5:1,3,4, "Stand fast in the LIBERTY wherewith CHRIST hath made us free, be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage (LAW)...He is a DEBTOR to DO the whole LAW...Christ is become of no effect to you, whosoever is justified by the LAW, you are fallen from GRACE. Rom 8:3 "What the LAW could NOT do, in that it was WEAK through the flesh, God sent His Son...that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us. This is not Rocket Science!!! Gal 3:13 "Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the LAW, being made a curse for us, Praise the Lord! Study the overall Plan and Program of God...the different DISPENSATIONS. The Jews were under the dispensation of LAW...we are under the dispensation (stewardship, administration ) of GRACE. The scriptures you cited were from the Old Covenant...we are New Covenant Believers, unless you ar a Jew. Are You? Again, Paul does reiterate many of the laws from the Old Covenant that we should strive to keep. God does not deal with us "New Creations" that inhabit His Son the way He dealt with His Chosen People, the Jews. They did not have Christ living in them. Paul told the Romans..."I bear them record that they have the zeal of God, but not according to knowledge." |

Understanding God's overall program is difficult for some because we have been taught that we are "Jews". We are really neither Jew nor Gentile if we are born again...we are "new creatures". Paul was raised up by Jesus and given the gospel for the "new creatures". Paul does reiterate "some" of the LAW for us to follow. But, not ALL of it. Paul says that which you have learned, received, heard, and seen in me, Do! He constantly throughout his epistles say to follow him as he follows Christ. He constantly refers to "my gospel". He is not being arrogant...as a matter of fact, besides Jesus I never read of anyone so humble. Remember in Galatians , Jesus was born of a woman, UNDER the LAW. Jesus was a Jew...He had to keep and teach the LAW. But when He died, He did away with the LAW...it was a curse. My computer is down right now...it may be a while before I can get back if you have further questions. From my heart to yours, Bereaniam |

Basic to understanding the bible is to study it dispensationally. While Jesus lived on the earth,he was in the dispensation of LAW, Gal 4:4. He had to keep and teach ALL of the LAW. He obeyed the ordinance of tithing, Luke11:42, what the prophets taught, kept the Feasts, wore tassels, etc. Christ's death brought the LAW to an end Rm 10:4...blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us...nailing it to His cross Col 2:14. Before the dispensation of LAW, Abraham, during the dispensation of PROMISE gave a tithe of the spoils of the war to Melchizedek without the command of God. Abraham did not bring his tithe to the "storehouse", it is not recorded that he ever tithed again, and he was not promised he'd be blessed for tithing. Abraham also offered animals as burnt offerings...we are not required to do that during this dispensation of GRACE. We are forbidden to mix GRACE with LAW. Col 2:16, Gal 6:1. Just study the bible dispensationally (rightly divide the Word of truth); remember we are not Jews; if you keep one LAW, you have to keep them all to be righteous; read all of Galatians; don't be bewitched by "money grubbing preachers; give 10,20,40,50,100 percent of your gross if you want to...just be sure it is given cheerfully, not grudgingly, or of necessity as Paul, our pattern, taught the Corinthians. |
