81 | The Blind leading the blind | Mark 8:18 | BMyers | 210833
You are correct. Steve and I talked offline and he is correct, even though I was trying to make a funny, tone is hard tell when in a written format. Sometimes my fingers go quicker than my brain, but appreciate the fact that people are willing to question what I post. Like I stated to him, if I don't have a good explanation for what I post, then I shouldn't be posting it. Should have left the split personality off the post. Brad |

86 | A difficult question | Bible general Archive 4 | BMyers | 210520
I have found researching the Bible to be a fascinating and faith building study. Being raised in a Christian home, I just always took it for a fact the Bible was God’s Word and never crossed my mind to think anything less. As I grew older, I found myself like you, unable to answer the questions that were proposed to me about the Bible and the origin of it. I read several books on the Bible and the history of Christianity. The more I learned about the Bible and how it has come to exist in its modern format, the more confidence I have in it. Here is a few of the book I have read on the Bible What is the Bible All About? Halley’s Bible Handbook How We Got the Bible |

It is interesting to read the age old debate between Calvinism and Arminianism. Many scholars more knowledgable than I have debated and as we know the battle lines have been drawn. I know where I stand, which is more towards the Arminianism side than the Calvinism, yet I can find plenty of common ground that I can word shoulder to shoulder with Calvinistic brothers (and sisters) to still try to accomplish the work of Christ.

93 | Our Goal | Mark | BMyers | 203023
Nasty inner ear infection. I went to bed feeling fine. Got up this morning and went to get out of bed, room started spinning, and passed out. I then started losing supper from the night before. After a couple of attempts to get up and kept passing out and then vomiting, I had to agree it was time to go to the hospital. Next thing I know I was on the way to the hospital via ambulance, had head ct to make sure I hadn't damaged anything (yes it showed I had nothing up there (didn't need an expensive test to prove that)). ED doctor gave me medicine to stop the vomiting and help get the dizziness under control. So, I now have medicine and will have to let it run its course, so I have to take it easy for the next couple of days. As long as I don't change positions quickly, the dizziness isn't to bad. That was my exciting morning. Could of done without it, but thankfully it isn't anything serious, just nasty little bug in my ear. Brad |

94 | Our Goal | Mark | BMyers | 203021
Yes, you are correct. How do we accomplish this? MK 12:30 AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH.’ In this, we will find that our purpose will be to bring glory to Him. In th process of bringing glory to Him, our fellowship with Him grows. How much more glory can we bring to God, but by making Him master of all? (I think I said that correctly, I've not had a good day with trip by ambulance to the hospital this morning.) Brad |

95 | Prophet touched on the rib by God? | Bible general Archive 4 | BMyers | 202984
I don't think most (myself included in that category not long ago) how subtle little changes in the way you phrase something can make a huge difference in what it truly means or how the meaning can be changed. I think many good Christian people who are trying to live by the Bible don't completely understand how important that we make sure we understand and grasp the meaning of the Bible and not try to make the Bible mean what we want it to. Our Pastor has such a passion for this and I'm very thankful that he does, because up to six months ago I wouldn't have approached the Word of God in that manner. I still have ALOT to learn and I'm excited! A week doesn't go by without me learning something new. Now I have to get back to work. Brad |

96 | Prophet touched on the rib by God? | Bible general Archive 4 | BMyers | 202983
Not a problem, I'm just glad we got it all figured out. You brought up an interesting point that we have been dealing with in our Wednesday evening Bible Study and that is dealing with translations and the correct interpretation of the Bible. Anyway, I could go on, but I guess I should get back to work. Brad |

97 | Prophet touched on the rib by God? | Bible general Archive 4 | BMyers | 202976
Interesting, I don't know what is more interesting, the fact I remembered something correctly or the definition of prophet. I always thought of a 'prophet' as someone who was writing or saying inspired words from God. Never really thought of it as someone that has had a direct communication from God. So does that mean everyone Jesus talked to in the New Testament is a ‘prophet’? (There I go thinking too much again.) Thanks for the info, Brad |

100 | God love the senner but hate the sin | NT general | BMyers | 202823
As Christians we have challenging path to walk in a fallen world. I know that you feel that everyone was attacking you, but they weren’t attacking you, they were defending the Holy Scriptures. In a fallen world when everywhere you look someone is trying to compromise and soften the Scriptures to make them more ‘modern’, more ‘acceptable’, more ‘realistic’, more ‘worldly……you must be on constant guard. Even subtle little things, how something is phrased, can actually mean HUGE doctrinal and more importantly Biblical difference and compromise. Christians can NEVER compromise on the Word of God. I believe your best intentions were to encourage a father who is struggling with a lost child. This cuts to the heart of every parent, but imagine how much more it hurts the heart of our Heavenly Father. But even with all this pain, we cannot and must not compromise on the Word. I wish that I could express myself better, but this is not strong point of mine. I have to pray and leave the message I’m trying to get across to you in the good Lord’s hands. If any of my post has offended, that was not my purpose. I struggle, just like others, to make sure that I’m not compromising on the truth of Word of God, while still trying to communicate that passion for upholding God’s Word in a spirit of love. Brad |
