641 | Did Jesus clean the temple twice | NT general Archive 1 | stjohn | 184150
Hi praygd66; The Gospels authors didn't seem to be very focused on the chronology of our Lord's ministry. For various reasons, in John it appears to be especially true. I believe He therefor cleared it once. Can someone add to this? Hope this helped God's peace stj |

643 | are fish sinless | Bible general Archive 3 | stjohn | 184064
Hi gizbeth; Good question Adam and Eve where the first Humans to sin when they disobeyed God. God commanded them not to eat of the three of the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil. God never commanded fish or birds or beasts of any kind whatsoever that crawl or fly or swim. what they do they do by instinct. sort of like they are preprogramed or something like that. We all, being of the seed of Adam and Eve, we have a sin nature, so it is natural for us to sin. We are sinners. So, Romans 3:23 obviously is not addressed to fish it is addressed to men God in His word which is the Bible is talking to us sinners. therefor fish are not sinners they are (sinless) I hope that helps God's peace stj |

645 | What do 10 signify? | Gen 8:5 | stjohn | 184057
Hi dovie; Well; it looks you have been given a lot to chew on, but lets not forget who wrote the Bible. It is widely accepted, that Moses wrote the first five books of the bible and was divinely inspired by God, so you can be Cretan that God, got His message across through moses, and all of the Bibles writers, and God, did then and does now, know how to count, so when God says 10 He means 10. All due respect to all the other posters. God's peace stj |

646 | Age of those entering Promise Land | Bible general Archive 3 | stjohn | 184055
Hi jaykay; There is some debate as to what is the age of accountability, some say as young as 10, some say 20, I think it varies from person to person, so after the 40 years in the wilderness and I think that 20 being the youngest that one would be called to battle, perhaps the oldest would be about 60 and the youngest 20. can someone add to this? I'd like to know too. stj |

647 | What authority does the The Westminster | 2 Tim 3:16 | stjohn | 183866
Hi stjames7; I take it from what I read of you, that you are a christian, a fellow bealiver, and therefor a brother in christ. so let us not loose site of what is all important, that is, that we show love, one for another. I am not in any way accusing you so please don't take it that way. I know that I am guilty as any one so I'm not puting myself obove any one. So, here is something that I think will help us all. I believe that we should be planting seed of hope in the broken people that may be serching for that hope that we have in Christ. God bless stj 1 Cor 3:3 for you are still fleshly. For since there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not fleshly, and are you not walking like mere men? 1 Cor 3:4 For when one says, "I am of Paul," and another, "I am of Apollos," are you not mere men? 1 Cor 3:5 What then is Apollos? And what is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, even as the Lord gave opportunity to each one. 1 Cor 3:6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth. 1 Cor 3:7 So then neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but God who causes the growth. 1 Cor 3:8 Now he who plants and he who waters are one; but each will receive his own reward according to his own labor. 1 Cor 3:9 For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, God's building. 1 Cor 3:10 According to the grace of God which was given to me, like a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building on it. But each man must be careful how he builds on it. 1 Cor 3:11 For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ |

648 | sermon on the mound | Matt 5:1 | stjohn | 183863
Hi daniel101; the sermon on the mt. can be found in Matthew chapters 5 through 7 also known as the Beatitudes. In it Jesus Christ our Lord, raises the ten commandments and the law to the inth degree, making it obvious to any one who may have thought he was keeping the law, that he could not. Therefor making it clear to all that we need a savour, and that of corse would be our Lord Jesus Christ. Now that was a pretty short answer but I hope it helps you in your studies. God bless stj |

650 | Do animals have souls and go to heaven? | Gen 2:7 | stjohn | 183836
Hi mrs; I suppose, if by chance, any of us, when we get to heaven long for a beloved pet, consider this. NIV. Matt 7:9,11 Which of you if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10) Or if he asks for a fish, will give a snake? 11) If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! Jesus; is a wonderful loving God, who suffered more then any human could ever endure for our happiness. now I don't know why but He really loves us that much, so, I think if we ask Him; well, what do you think He would do, give us a fish named spot! I hope this helps. peas stj |

651 | Heaven what it will be like! | Bible general Archive 3 | stjohn | 183823
HI mae68; The bible doesn't tell us exactly what heaven will look like but I hope this helps. In heaven the blessedness of the righteous consists in the possession of "life everlasting," "an eternal weight of glory" (2 Cor. 4:17), an exemption from all sufferings for ever, a deliverance from all evils (2 Cor. 5:1, 2) and from the society of the wicked (2 Tim. 4:18), bliss without termination, the "fulness of joy" for ever (Luke 20:36; 2 Cor. 4:16, 18; 1 Pet. 1:4; 5:10; 1 John 3:2). The believer's heaven is not only a state of everlasting blessedness, but also a "place", a place "prepared" for them (John 14:2). Also look in revelation 4:2-6 keep looking up and God bless stj |

652 | philippians 3 | Philippians | stjohn | 183815
Hi pj; First of all I don't think paul was reminding them to rejoice in the Lord, it's more like a salutation or proclamation like praise the Lord! What he was reminding them of was what He had told them before about the gospel of Christ. apparently Paul had written or spoken to them before about circumcision. repetition is a safeguard against false teaching. His concern then was about the men that where trying to tell them that they needed to be circumcised. (mutilators of the flesh.) notice He called them dogs, Jesus gave His most scathing rebuke to religious men like them. Paul was sort of telling them to stand on the word. True believers worship Christ in spirt and with faith in Him as there saviour not in trusting works of the flesh or human effort.

655 | Chronology of Paul | Acts 9:25 | stjohn | 183715
Hi Thomas; John Gill's Exposition of the Bible Galatians 1:18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem? Not three years after his return to Damascus, but after his conversion; and now it was that he moved to become a member of the church at Jerusalem; but they did not care to admit him, fearing that he was not a disciple, till such time that Barnabas took him, and brought him to the Apostles Peter and James, and related his conversion and his boldness in preaching the Gospel at Damascus: his view in going up to Jerusalem at this time was partly his own safety, being obliged to fly from Damascus, but chiefly to see Peter. stj |
