61 | Confused | 1 Tim 2:12 | jcsav | 146537
No, the authenticy was not by Jesus silence on the issue. It was based on what Jesus said in Mat 12:24-29 after He was accused of casting out devils by the power of devils. Also, I see preaching as a gift from God. Phil 1:15-18 All these Preachers was not behaving "Saved" Yet, Paul rejoiced because the Christ was Preached. I am speaking this from the point of view that there is but One True Gospel and that it was being Preached. Also, I believe that the Rev. signs and wonders you refer to is after the rapture. (2 Th 2:7) Thought, I see the antichrist already at work. I do not believe those filled with the Holy Ghost will see these signs and wonders that you speak of from Rev. |

62 | jcsav, why say we're not new creatures? | 2 Cor 5:17 | jcsav | 146535
That is correct. All that have received the Holy Ghost is a new creature. But, remember what Jesus said, what which is born of Spirit is Spirit. What is born of Flesh is Flesh. Spirit do not change what Flesh is. Though I have the Holy Ghost. I still have a choose, to follow after the Flesh, or the Spirit. I have a war, within me. That would not be the case, if my Flesh was somehow changed.
63 | what is salvation and how does it work ? | Eph 2:8 | jcsav | 146520
God do not change our nature. He simply give us another Spirit (HIS).Rom 8:7-17.
64 | What must I do to be saved? | Rom 10:9 | jcsav | 146519
All the Scripture you listed is summed up in the one on the top of your list (Acts 2:38) That will include Mat 28:28-20. Do this and you will receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. That is, the Lord will baptise you with His Spirit. It seems, you already know what to do.
65 | Confused | 1 Tim 2:12 | jcsav | 146518
EdB I was not trying to prove you wrong. I would apoligize if that was my intent, but it is not. What I wanted you to see is that it is possible to have signs and wonders plus preach the True Gospel and yet be lost yourself (1Cor 9:27). As I said, I agree with most of what you say. And remember that people are willfully blind. They are not deceived simply because there are deceivers. It is a rightous judgement, against them. This in no way means that you was wrong in what you said. I was simply trying to add to it. |

66 | what is salvation and how does it work ? | Eph 2:8 | jcsav | 146498
Repentance and remission of sin would not be possible without the death of Christ. He did not do this so that you would continue in your sin. And I assure you, your blessing is not the only thing you will be losing if you disobey Heb 12:15-17 and 6:6-10. As for Rev.2: 4-5 what do you think a Church is. It is people. God is not talking about bricks and mortar.
67 | Confused | 1 Tim 2:12 | jcsav | 146496
EdB Let me ask you this. In Mat 7:22, When they prophesied in his name (Remember false prophets will have their place in hell). And when they cast out demons in his name (Jesus said demons do not cast out demons) This is not what Jesus Judged them on. he said, I never knew you. Was their work of God or of the Devil? |

68 | Confused | 1 Tim 2:12 | jcsav | 146471
Yes, and in many ways I agree with you. But you seem to believe that signs and wonders lead only to deception. That I do not believe. I would agree that it is a dangerous area. But so is Scripture (which by the way gave us signs that will follow the True Church), for some. Christ healed, but you do not see him making a circus act out of it. Just as I believe you said in one of your post. But, don't through the baby out with the bath water.
69 | what is salvation and how does it work ? | Eph 2:8 | jcsav | 146468
My statement speaks for itself. It is not a Calvinist statement. I will defend my beliefs to the death. But, I oppose the Calvinism view. I do not need you to tell me who and what I am. Ask me and I will tell you.
70 | what is salvation and how does it work ? | Eph 2:8 | jcsav | 146466
God do not take it back. Salvation begins "in faith" (he that believe) and "continues in faith" (we walk by faith and not by sight) and "ends in faith," that the security of believer is NOT unconditional, but is based upon the continuity of faith in the life of the believer.
71 | Partly under the Law? | Col 2:14 | jcsav | 146450
You seem to see death as some kind of none existence. That is not taught in the Scriptures. When Jesus allowed us to see into the after life in Luke 16:22-31. Do you see sin. No. You see a repentive Believer that was willing to Preach the Gospel. And if you see this as the first Death (The Soul still Lives) then how is this different from Rev 20:14-15 ,"And Death and hell (The last enemy 1Cor15:26) were cast into the lake of Fire, (it is now, destroyed, no longer exist) This is the second death. (15) "And whoever was not written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire." Now, tell me, how do you die, seeing death is no more. It is not that you can not live again that is the Hell. It is that you can not die. That is what Jesus meant by the worm will not die and the fire will not be quenched. Mark 9:46. |

72 | what is salvation and how does it work ? | Eph 2:8 | jcsav | 146447
There are too many warning in the New Testament to the believer that would be totally unnecessary, if there was no danger of falling. Believers can fall from the grace of God, Heb 12:15-17, 6:6-10, 4:11, Rev. 2:4-5, 3:5, 3:14-22. Long as you are walking in the faith you do have eternal security, John 10:26, Heb. 13:5-6, Phil 2:12-13. I want it to be known that this is NOT a Calvinistic approach. I have back myself with Scripture. This is a Biblical doctrine.
73 | Confused | 1 Tim 2:12 | jcsav | 146444
EdB It seems to me you are getting God's gifts and abilities mixed up with salvation. If one should follow after signs and wonders. It is a good idea to understand what they are and why they are given. |

74 | Is wife equally obligate to leave parent | Gen 2:24 | jcsav | 146443
She may not think that she is not obligated to leave her parents. But she is obligated to submit to her husband. If he think that is, what is best, for the relationship. He is after all her "head."

Correction,in my statement above "Peter" should have been in place of "Paul." My mistake.
76 | If we ask for healing does God answer no | 1 Peter | jcsav | 146364
Is there death in heaven? No! What did God tell us to do when we (The saved) or sick? Did he say, ask him? No. You are applying the wrong meaning to "Thy Will" as it is used in this text means His "Laws." Not that the earth should be "like heaven." There is a sickness unto death. And there is a sickness not unto death.
77 | jcsav, Was it Paul or Peter? | Acts 5:34 | jcsav | 146362
You are right, of course. I realized my mistake, after I had posted. I meant, Peter and the apostles. jcsav
78 | Results DO matter | 1 Tim 2:12 | jcsav | 146342
I have used the quote of Gamaliel myself. It was used in the defence of Paul. And it can be used today in the same defence. Just because a false prophet may choose to use it. Do not make the statement, null and void. Gamaliel, wisely choosed, not to fight against the Gospel. He did not choose NOT to fight against "false prophets". God many times influence the hearts of individuals that are not saved, to do his will.
79 | Women in Ministry | 1 Tim 2:12 | jcsav | 146287
That's what I thought. | ||||||

If that is all that it mean. Then why did Paul say in verse 34, ....as also saith the law? And why do he tell her to ask her husband at home? Why not ask the men. Or the Pastor? |
