65 | 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12 WHO? | 2 Thess 2:7 | cuddle | 181049
NC, I do not believe you have addressed my question about John 14:16...could you please support your theory of the restrainer with the word of Christ stated at John 14:16? And explain HOW you can still support that theory without contradicting Scripture. I do not mean to be difficult, but the issue of 2 Thess. has been laid to rest as far I am concerned by the post/reply of CDBJ a few days ago in his references to Dan. and the archangel, Michael. Have you considered his theory at all? I think it should be considered because it does not seem to me that it comprimises the Holy Scriptures and it makes sense! Again, I could be wrong, I obviously do not know for certain or I would not have posted this question to begin with. lol Anyway, this is a fun debate! In His Service, Cuddle |

John 14:16 I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; Jesus said forever, not until taken away; and another interesting thing that I just noticed is the NASB capitalizes pronouns when they reference the Godhead, the translator of the NASB must not hold that 2 Thes. refers to Him either,if you notice their use of the pronouns. I am with you, I too belived it was the Holy Spirit, but Scripture must harmonize and I do not see the harmony in the thought applied when Jesus said the Helper, (Holy Spirit) would remain with you forever. Unless we take it to mean the Holy Spirit in us and not in the world, but that would be an assumption that I cannot support with Scripture. In His Service, Cuddle PS I am enjoying this debate, I truly enjoy this exchange of understanding. I pray the Holy Spirit will teach us the truth of this passage. |

I use to agree it was the Holy Spirit, but if that were true, I think it would contradict Scripture(John 14:16) So to answer your question...I dunno, I just wanted to know if anyone else knew. When you replied I noticed a past related note at the bottom in the box. Look at the one from 09/26/01 In His Service, Cuddle |

70 | Elaborate Please | Bible general Archive 3 | cuddle | 180922
Doc I agree with what you said about the law, but I a thought hit me, is that not what Jesus says in Matthew 5:17. that He came not to abolish but to fulfill the law? Also, I love the passages of Romans you chose. Correct me if I am wrong, but part of the parenesis of Romans was concern over a false Christian view of being able to do whatever you want, thus the focus on the 'works'of the law. I agree with what you have said, I guess I would like for you to elaborate more on your stand as to if the law still serves any purpopse for the Christian today? Remember, it is me Cuddle, so keep the answer simple and please explain when you use big words I may not understand. :-) In His Service, Cuddle |

71 | Taking medication/Giving medication? | Phil 4:6 | cuddle | 180919
Thank You! God is so VERY GOOD! My daughter suffers from the same dis- order(bi-polar) She went off her meds a few months ago and now her behavor, well lets just say I would welcome a normal defiant teen ager right now. I gave in to letting her go off the meds because influence from those in my family who denied the dis-order as being real. I know there are no direct verses in Scripture, but there were a few that were really speaking to my heart on the matter. In all honesty it was your sharing your own story that I ma grateful for from your post. You have confirmed what the Holy Spirit has been trying to show me. This forum stuff is cool for a range of reasons. Bible Study and fellowship in one place. I spend so much time in front of the keyboard and to take a break I surf for Bible info and happened upon this forum.Ya never know.... In His Service, Cuddle PS Thanks Again |

Okay then you asked for it ! and if I get any nasty replies because of what I say I want all to know up front to send their comments to CDBJ...lol YES, I believe I have eternal life. I do not believe in once saved always saved, but I do believe that I am saved. I know because of my faith and that I believe Jesus Christ is the son of God and He died and rose again. I also believe that Heaven as we are taught from the pulpit is not accurate from what I understand the Scriptures to mean. I believe that if I were to die tomorrow, (unless Jesus has already returned before tomorrow)my soul will return to the dust and my spirit to the Lord where I will sleep until resurrected. I believe that I will live in the New Jerusalem as long as I do not forsake GOD. I know and believe this because that is what I understand from His promises in the Holy Scriptures. It is this active belief that keeps me from forsaking the Lord. When my belief, my faith, stands still that is when I will doubt my security in eternal life. So Heaven, NO (at least not awake) the new earth when Jerusalem comes down from Heaven? YES I can break all of this down with Scripture if anyone would like for me to, I would prefer not because anytime I get into this conversation face to face it is hard enough, I can only imagine how it would be in this forum. In His Service, Cuddle PS I keep trying to post my replies as a note instead of a question, but the system will not allow me. HELP |

CDBJ, I know this is another simple and child like response, but I have only been a part of the forum for a few days; I got off on the wrong foot, and I am trying really hard to observe from the side lines to learn "how deep" I can go in answering questions, how much of my "opinion" I can include in my answers, and so forth, without being offensive to others in the forum or being offended myself to a response I may get from a post. I am not a "scholar" (though I am working on it) so until I am more comfortable with what is expected in this forum, my answers may not be what you would like as far as depth. I like being asked and asking, but again, I am still getting a feel for things. With all of that said,...John 3:16, and if you have a concordance or Greek to English dictionary, or some tool such as this(assuming you are not fluent in Greek), do a word study of the word BELIEVE. This I feel is a beginning at least, to answering your question. Please keep them coming. This way I get to participate in the forum and "get my feet wet" I will say It is strictly opinion, that we each experience a comfort and confidence in our relation with the Lord during different seasons of our life. Our experiences are what usually shape that comfort and assurance in our relationship with God. When we study His Word we gain a higher comfort level and dependance on His promises to those who BELIEVE. If you choose to take my advice and do a word study, please remember to check the tense of the word BELIEVE. I know it is sometimes time consuming to reflect on grammer as far noun, verb, adverb, etc., but it is worth it when we realize how much more we understand of this grand love letter of spoken communication to each of us from our Heavenly Father. I wish I could narrow it down to one, but I cannot. I think one word could cover everything...LOVE. What makes it difficult, is that even those of the world love.(Luke 6) The depth of LOVE when we beign to experience love from the Lord covers every aspect of life. Our thoughts, actions, habbits, what, who, where; it,love, is consuming. When we act outside of the experience of His Love and we give way to our flesh we realize more and more our NEED for HIM. Paul discusses this battle, and when I first began to study, I did not understand what he meant, and I am not sure I fully do today, but I do feel like I have experienced the struggle. I could list all types of things I have learned that are applicable, logical, and even awesome topics for discussion, but once they have been examined the common denominator will be LOVE. I know it use to anger me when I would hear people talk about the God of anger in the OT and the God of love in the NT. (those who believe the NT is the only one that matters) This would bother me because I do not believe God enjoyed destroying Sodom and Gomorah or drowning the earth or the death one human in battle. If we are going to accept ALL Scripture as beneficial(2 Timothy 3), we need to see that He did give chance after chance, discipline after discipline(or as I like to explain to my teenage daughter"grounding after grounding"). These were all in love. It was and is the human free will that chose and still chooses these measures of detruction. (Habakkuk 2:12-14) The justness of God would be a lie if He did not enforce His expectations. Love would be incomplete if it were not just, and the Lord is NOT in-complete. My rambling may seem child like and I am sorry if my response is not as deep or theoretical as a response some of the other people on this forum may give you, but my approach to Bible study is child like. I am HIS child, and while I do learn from the words and examples of people, the TRUTH I learn is from the Holy Spirit.
