41 | NISB | Bible general Archive 3 | cuddle | 182683
Very trivial question....I am considering Bible purchase. I love NASB, does anyone have any opinion of the Inductive Study Bible? It is a study Bible put together by Precept Ministries. I would appreciate in-put from those who have examined this study Bible, have used it, or currently use it. I am looking for comments on durability of the body as well. I travel quite often and I am 'hard' on a Bible. We all know how expensive buying a new Bible can be so in a nut shell, do you like the NISB layout and is the structure sturdy? Thanks, Cuddle |

44 | I enjoy reading his work, but.... | Ps 68:11 | cuddle | 182338
Thank you Doc! I have been reading and could not put my finger on what it was I found strange about about some of his writing. I have not read any biographies on him, I guess I was just too lazy! I just read, compare with what I understrand from the Holy Scriptures and go from there with my limited knowledge of original language. I usually spend more time on the same verse than the average bear, but I feel that is how I learn best and it stays with me. Thank you again for that tid bit of info about him though. Like I said I could not put my finger on it with some of the stuff I have read I just knew it was a little "colorful" for lack of a better term that does not slander. ha ha |

45 | I disagree, I think we can glean much | Ps 68:11 | cuddle | 182305
Verse 11. Great was the company of those that published it. hammebasseroth tsaba rab; "Of the female preachers there was a great host." Such is the literal translation of this passage; the reader may make of it what he pleases. Some think it refers to the women who, with music, songs, and dances, celebrated the victories of the Israelites over their enemies. But the publication of good news, or of any joyful event, belonged to the women. It was they who announced it to the people at large; and to this universal custom, which prevails to the present day, the psalmist alludes. See this established in Clarke's note on "Isa 40:9". This is taken from Adam Clark Commentary So I do think the verse has something to offer to the women of and to the Body of Christ as whole today. This is a foundational verse for a talk I am giving in a few weeks. You would be surprized as to how many verses (both OT and NT) that connect to the thought of this verse implication. I think when we do a word study and pay attention to the root, gender, and tense we discover a whole new depth to much of GOD's Word. It is so exciting! |

50 | Court system/raising your children? | Not Specified | cuddle | 181332
What authority does the juvinel justice system have in raising your child if said child has been taken into custody for asaultiing a parent? I asked this question with verses like Provebs 31, God's law above man's law, honor govenment rulers and laws of the land, one who cannot take care of his own is a disgrace(these are all paraphrased as they come mind). I know this question is a bit off color, but I would like Scriptural guidance on the matter. If we have any attorneys on the forum, I would love to hear you on the matter. |

55 | Racial Marriage, yes or no | Bible general Archive 3 | cuddle | 181115
God actually looked unfavarablly on those who discriminated against those who married outside their "race" If you will read Numbers 12, I think you will find an interesting connection with Miriam, her comments against the wife of Moses who was a Cushite, and Miriam contracting leprousy. 56 | Learning from one another in LOVE | Prov 27:17 | cuddle | 181108
Thank you to all that have participated in the 2 Thes. discussion. I love this forum. I am learning so very much. I can tell from several of the post that I am on the bottom of the 'scholar' food chain. I hope my comments remain to be "a breath of fresh air" for some of you. It is not my intention to mis-use Scripture by taking it out of context, please forgive me if that is what I have done. I have learned a lot during this discussion, and I will continue to examine the Scriptures (Acts 17:11) I cannot wait to see what the next challenging verse will be! In His Service, Cuddle |

57 | 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12 WHO? | 2 Thess 2:7 | cuddle | 181090
I disagree because that is dangerously close to saying the church is GOD The church is the Body of Christ and the Holy Spirit dwells in the believer, but the believer is not the Holy Spirit, nor is the church the Holy Spirit. In His Service, Cuddle |

STRONG note the word remain in the definition for the word used in Joh 14:16 regarding stay with/be with I do not think you are arguing. I am enjoying the friendly debate/discussion. I hope I do not come across as arguementitive. You and the others are making me use my noggin' In His Service, Cuddle |

Jeff I am not sure I fully understand everything you said, but I am going to give it a try… Correct me if I am wrong or misunderstanding your post. The phrasing of John 15:16, I find very clear, that the spirit of truth is indeed the Holy Spirit To question the ‘life-span’ of the Holy Spirit can be answered with Genesis 1:2, 26. To support (as I agree) Jesus has always existed, I would direct one to the same verse of Genesis 1:26, as well as Proverbs 8, John 3:13; 8:23; 17:22-26 and several more, but I think you get the picture. I think it is also important we look at what Scripture teaches us is the job or function of this third member of the Godhead we call, the Holy Spirit Teacher Helper Comforter Advocate These are all repeated in various places, yet none, to me, imply a physical restrainer. As I get the mental picture of one who is physically (yet in the spiritual) as if in battle, which is why I believe I am leaning towards the support of Michael the Archangel (2 Thes 2:7) In conclusion: I do believe you make a valid claim, if I understand correctly what you mean as far as the rapture theory. My thought here however would be that it would make more sense for the church to be the ‘restrainer’ because from what I understand of the rapture theory, it is the church that will be ‘caught up’ or ‘taken away’, thus removed. I know by making that last statement I am opening up a new can of worms, but this FUN!! In His Service, Cuddle |
