Let's note this point also, the scholars are not inspired, so should we trust them? And sense this long ending has been found, does it hurt the gospel cause or promote the gospel cause? It's said to be the words of Jesus, that should be a great discovery and bring joy to our hearts. God want's us to have all things that pretain to life and godlyness. Or is this something Satan wanted in the place of God's word? We know what the ending says, is it a good thing, or a bad thing? But the real question should be why did they put it in the bible? Someone throught it should be in there, though it might be debated. And sense we have it let's treat it like all other scriptures. By the way how many scholars voted on placing it in the bibles? |

If you or anybody else question what you read in the bible, as you all believe,"Anyone with even an elementary knowledge of Mark's Gospel knows that verses 9-20 of Chapter 16 have long been disputed, that there are extant some four possible endings, and that many scholars feel that these verses may indeed be spurious, because they do not appear in many of the best manuscripts that are extant. (There are no surviving original autographs of any books of Scripture)..... Now, surely you can understand that what Tim has posted and what I have posted regarding the facts of this issue do not constitute in any manner whatever an unbelief in the inspiration of God's word. What we have said -- and all we have said -- is that this portion of Mark's Gospel has been disputed by biblical scholars, and that there are strong reasons to posit that these verses did not appear in the original autograph that Mark penned..... This is a far cry from your original accusation that I did not believe the Bible was inspired. Now that you have the facts straight, I hope, do you still "stand" I do still stand on my word, You use the word (spurious) meaning not genuine;false or illegitimate! And you used the word (Posit) which means: to suppose to be a fact. With that in mind, you are saying not INSPIRED! Not such a far cry is it? |

Is it because I proved the point about your view on Mark 16:9-20, that you call spurious and that you believe it to be posit?

You mentioned how many times something is repeated, this happen to be the end of the gospel according to Mark, the question is, does this ending agree with the other three endings? I think it does agree with the others, and the day of Pentecost sermon that Peter preached.

Is denominatalism a sin? What I mean is we have hundreds of different churches in this country alone, is that type of division pleasing to God?

72 | Is denominatalism a sin? | NT general Archive 1 | Grace and Truth | 51987
Tim be real, You know that all the letters that were written were passed around to all the churches at that time! Here's evidents, Col 4:16 "And when this epistle is read among you, cause that it be read also in the church of the Laodiceans; and that ye likewise read the epistle from Laodicea". You are right about the word (denominations) because they did not exist then! |

73 | Is denominatalism a sin? | NT general Archive 1 | Grace and Truth | 52047
What Paul was confounting is divisions, which turned christians away from the Lord. And as you mentioned people do think differently, and that's the problem, we are commanded to speak the same thing, it's not about what we think, it's about what the Lord thinks, that's who we are told to follow. Paul said "be ye followers of me even as I am of Christ" so if a minister stop following Christ, he would have to go or I'll go somewhere else. Denomination were inevitable, but are they right in God's sight, according to His word.
74 | Is denominatalism a sin? | NT general Archive 1 | Grace and Truth | 52058
I agree with this point, because they spoke the same thing. The denominations of today do not speak the same things. I'm sure you have some history background, when this country was founded, all of the battles among the Quakers and Protestants and other goups, they all taught something different, no one would come to the knowledge of the truth.
75 | Why was Christ baptized? | NT general Archive 1 | Grace and Truth | 54261
I believe that we learn more from the baptism of Jesus than what is listed in answer to this question. 1John 5:4-9, Romans 6:1-23, Jesus's baptism shows us his death, burial and resurrection, as stated in romans 6 ch., Then 1John 5:4-9, mainly vs.6 says "This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ, not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. Most think that H2O has no part in our salvation, but they forgot when Jesus may mention to Nicodemus that you Must be Born Again, Jesus said it would have to be by water and of the Spirit, to enter into the kingdom of God. John 3:3-12. Then when Jesus was on the cross for our sins, and one of the soldiers in John 19:34 with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water. H2O, 1John 5:8 tells us that "there are three that bear witness in earth, the spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. Meaning you cannot seperate them, they all work together. Yes H2O has something to do with our salvation, weather we like it or not! This is why the chief priest and the elders would not answer the question Jesus asked them, about the baptism of John, is it from heaven or of men? Matt 21:23-27. We are washed in the blood of the Lamb, How? When we are Baptized in (water)(H2O) for the remission of our sins. Mark 1:4 tells us that John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS. Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be Baptized Every One Of You In The NAME OF JESUS CHRIST (FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS), and ye shall receive the Gift of the Holy Spirit. Remission of sins when one is baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. This is the Grace of God through Faith, in which we are saved, some may not believe it, but that doesn't make not true! |

76 | What does Hebrews 8 Mean? | Lev 17:11 | Grace and Truth | 49250
Look at HEB 8:13 of the same chapter. A new covenant! Now that which decaveth and waxeth old is ready to VANISH AWAY. GAL.5:4; COL 2:14.
77 | why does god command genocide? | Josh 7:1 | Grace and Truth | 48958
If you look at vs. 2 in the same chapter it said that The Lord of hosts, remembered that which Amalek did to Israel! The Lord handed down Jugdement on Amalek. The All Mighty God knows all of our thoughts, pass and present, and He is the Jugde of all the earth. And if He commanded someone to be destroyed it had to be done. But notice King Saul did'nt do what God had commanded vs. 9-11, and God rejected him (Saul) from being King over Israel vs.22-23. This is the whole point, God want us to (OBEY) His commandments vs.24, and not man's.

80 | What does water baptism do? | Matt 3:15 | Grace and Truth | 52644
Eph 4:5 There is one baptism. Before you say that this is Holy Spirit baptism, look at vs. 4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; So it's clearly speaking of water baptism. Many have said this is refering to the Holy Spirit, but it's not, seeing that Paul mentions the Holy Spirit prior to baptism. |
