3. Grew and was unfruitful. Possibly a believer. Either this person is in or out, there is no middle ground. If in, Jesus said this person is now lost forever. true or false? This make faith only impossible, because you don't know the hearts of men, and I know you to have seen folks start out strong in the Lord, witnessing and preaching and everything, then something happens to them and they fall away. Is this true from your experience? I have seen some come back to the Lord to. |

126 | Can they all be right? | Matt 24:11 | Grace and Truth | 53749
The text above is a very important text, because it gives a warning about false teachers and their deeds. The thing that concerns me most, is that people are not aware of what false teaching is. It's like this country we live in, it's diverse with many differences. We are told, that it's okay! We need to be more tolerent toward those who are different from us, culturally, religiously, sexually etc.. But in matters of doctrine and what the Bible teaches can we afford to go through life as if it doesn't matter to God? Some how many believe that men can go to whatever church they want, and believe only what they think they understand to be the gospel (faith only) and make it to heaven. If this idea was true, why would Jesus warn us about false teachers and prophets, and their misleading of many souls? What exactly is the misleading? What will men say? How would they mislead people? Who's behind them backing up their words? I notice how many different groups are on this forum, and everbody claims to have the truth, no matter what group their in. And yet the bible warns us of false teaches and prophets! The word false or falsehood is in the bible 94 times, 32 of them in the new testament. Is anybody aware of this? We know about those who don't claim the name of Jesus Christ. But what about those false teaches and falseprophets who use the name of Jesus Christ to advance there faith or beliefs? We have people who believe in hearing the gospel, believing it, repenting of their sins, confessing the name of Jesus Christ, and being baptized for the remission of one's sins. (Church of Christ Rom.16:16) We have those who believe we are saved by (faith only) who make up most of the Protestant faith. We have those of the Catholic faith. Lutherans, Episcopalians, Prebyterians, Congregationals, Baptist, Methodist, Latter Day Saints (Mormons), Adventists, Christian Scientist, Jehovah's Witnesses. All claim to have the truth. Can they all be right? Is this confusion? Is God the author of all these? Is this what Jesus was talking about in Matt 24:11? Does anyone even care about the subject of false teachers and prophets? Or are we all going to heaven anyway. We have those of the Catholic faith. |

128 | The last twelve verses of Mark 16, (9-20 | Mark 16:9 | Grace and Truth | 52353
The last twelve verses of Mark 16, (9-20) were in the translations of the New Testament two hundred years before the Greek manuscripts Aleph and B (Vaticanus) were made. This shows that these verses were in the Greek manuscript/s used in those translations. The Old Syric translation was in use within the lifetime of many early Christians who knew and heard John the apostle personally. Verses 9-20 are in this version. It also appeared in the Old Italian version, a very honored and respected translation. It reaches back to the early days of the church; and it too contains the last twelve verses of Mark. Also, there are the Ethiopian, Egyptian, Sahidic and Coptic translations that appeared not long after the end of the first century; each having these verses. The evidence is overwhelming in favor of the verses. |

Was Jesus Created By God? by Wayne Jackson Christian Courier: Questions Tuesday, September 4, 2001 Description Could Jesus have been created by God before the Universe existed? While the Jehovah’s Witnesses make this claim, the Bible does not support it. Is there a possibility that before the Universe was created that God, the “Ancient of days,” was all alone, and that out of his own being he brought into existence the Word, who eventually became Jesus Christ? No, that is not a concept that can be harmonized with Bible truth. Consider the following: 1. Jehovah God explicitly declares that no other God existed – either before or after him. Note the testimony of Isaiah – “. . . [B]efore me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am Jehovah; and besides me there is no God” (Isa. 43:10-11). 2. Eternality is a prime characteristic of one who possesses the nature of deity. God is “from everlasting to everlasting” (Psa. 90:2). He is the “high and lofty One who inhabits eternity” (Isa. 57:15). Now, inasmuch as it is clear that the divine Word (Christ – Jn. 1:1, 14) possesses the nature of deity, one must conclude that he is intrinsically eternal. 3. The Old Testament explicitly declared the eternal nature of the preincarnate Christ. Isaiah refers to the “Prince of Peace” as “everlasting” (9:6). The prophet Micah says that, in reality, the “goings forth” of the Bethlehem baby have been from “of old, from everlasting” (5:2). 4. The New Testament is equally clear in this matter. Three times in John 1:1 the apostle employs the imperfect tense verb en (rendered “was”) to denote the “timeless existence” of the sacred person known as the Word. The eternal existence of the preincarnate antedates “the beginning,” to which John alludes, in this passage. 5. Jesus himself affirmed his eternal existence, when he said to the Jews: “Before Abraham was born, I am” (Jn. 8:58). The present tense form, ego eimi (“I am”) stands in contrast to the aorist form “was born” (genesthai - to begin to be, to come into existence). The two expressions contrast the eternal and the temporal. The Jews certainly caught the drift of what Christ was saying, i.e., that he was claiming eternality, therefore, the status of being God. That is why they sought to stone him. The expression “I am” points one back to Exodus 3:14, where Jehovah identifies himself as the “I AM,” i.e., the self-existent One. 6. In the book of Revelation, Jesus claims that he is “the first and the last, and the Living [present participle – always living] one” (1:17-18). He is also the “Alpha and the Omega” – first and last letters in the Greek alphabet (22:13; cf. 1:8; 21:6). These phrases assert the eternal nature of the One so described, and are applied in these texts to either God, the Father, or to Christ. It is not biblical, therefore, to assert that the second Person of the Godhead had a “beginning” in any way. Unfortunately, those of the Watchtower persuasion teach the heresy that Jesus was created by God originally. |
