62 | Melchisedec restored tithing | Rom 4:3 | Bereaniam | 171845
Thanks BradK, He used Heb 7:12 as his proof text, which states that the priesthood had changed , therefore a necessity to change the law. This very scripture is one that I use to refute that tithing is under this present grace period. This preacher said the law changed but was not abolished. His sermon was very confusing (he was a guest preacher at our church). If Heb 7:12 says that tithing was restored...I don't see where he thought it ever ceased from the Mosaic Law. Bereaniam |

72 | Paul our pattern to follow, not Jesus? | 2 Tim 3:16 | Bereaniam | 169575
Hi lionheart, Please read my reply to Mark, its title is (Hi Mark, I'm soooo sorry), then answer me again, please. I CERTAINLY did not mean to communicate that I thought there are two Jesuses. You told me Eph.4 makes it clear what Paul and the other apostles were preaching. However, are you aware that Paul had to withstand Peter to his face, Gal 2:11, because Peter and the disciples were still operating in the old dispensation of law, Judaizing? Paul and Peter separated, Peter went to the Jews while Paul to the Gentiles, Gal 2:7. Even Peter said he found Paul hard to understand 2Pet 3:15,16. In Him and He in me |

73 | Paul our pattern to follow, not Jesus? | 2 Tim 3:16 | Bereaniam | 169584
Hi Mark, You still have not addressed my MAIN concern, which is: IS PAUL OUR PATTERN TO FOLLOW? SHOULD WE CONDUCT OUR CHRISTIAN WALK ACCORDING TO PAUL'S EPISTLES ROMAN - HEBREWS? WHEN PAUL WAS THE APOSTLE TO THE GENTILES, WERE HIS EPISTLES ENOUGH FOR THEM TO WALK OUT THEIR CHRISTIAN LIFE WITHOUT EVER KNOWING ANYTHING ABOUT THE OLD COVENANT OR WHAT WAS IN MATT, MRK, LUKE, JHN, JAMES, PETER, REVELATION? ARE YOU JEW OR GENTILE? In Him and He in me |

76 | Paul our pattern to follow, not Jesus? | 2 Tim 3:16 | Bereaniam | 169598
lionheart, You are getting closer...because everything you just posted , I put in my first post. I just wanted to know if you believe the Gentiles (post resurrection of Jesus) had enough scriptures from Paul's epistles to get saved and live a fulfilled Christian life. I am sure the early Christian Gentiles did not have access to ALL of the scriptures as we do today. Would you live your Christian life differently if you only read Romans - Hebrews? Most Christians today comingle the scriptures and try to live under the old covenant and the new covenant. In Him and He in me |

77 | Paul our pattern to follow, not Jesus? | 2 Tim 3:16 | Bereaniam | 169601
Hi Mark, I am sooo sorry about the all caps...I am new to posting. I won't ever do it again. I was just doing it for emphasis. Mark, I am not there yet, but I am striving to be able to say, "for me to live, is Christ. I love Jesus with all my heart. I strive every day to get to know this treasure (Jesus) who lives in my earthen vessel. I marvel that His spirit and my spirit is one. However, when Jesus walked on this earth, He lived and kept the law. We don't have to do that. So, I just mean that part of His life we don't have to imitate. Paul, on the other hand, says " the things which you have learned, received, heard, and seen in me, do. Paul says God is going to judge the secrets of our hearts by his gospel.I just want to know if you think Jesus gave enough scriptures to Paul for the Gentiles to get saved and live a fulfilled Christian life? Do you believe the early Gentile believers had access to all of the bible? Would you live your life differently if you only had Romans - Hebrews? Can you answer those three questions, my brother? In Him and He in me |

79 | Paul our pattern to follow, not Jesus? | 2 Tim 3:16 | Bereaniam | 169611
Mark, Are you a Messianic Jew? Why are you defending the Jews and the Law? Peter said in Acts 15:10, why do you (Jews) put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear.Isaiah said in Acts 28:27... the heart of these people (Jews) is waxed gross, and their ears and eyes have they closed...Be it known...that salvation of God is sent to the Gentiles, and they will hear it (gospel). However, I know the Jews will have their time of salvation, Heb 10:16. You said the early Gentiles had the apostles who penned the New Testament. Sir, only three of the disciples penned the New Testament. Paul wrote 14 books of the N.T; Luke, the only Gentile to write any of the bible, wrote 2 books; Mark, not an apostle, wrote 1; and James, the Lord's brother wrote 1. You also said, "they devoted themselves to the apostle's teaching, to fellowship, breaking bread, and prayer. Who are the "they", Gentiles or Jews? That scripture is in Acts 2. There were no Gentile converts at that time, were there? You ask what part of the of the Law is unimportant. All of the bible is important for instruction in righteousness, doctrine, etc., but there are 613 laws that do not all apply to me. I do not wear tassels on the 4 corners of my garments, or have a fence around my roof,or stone my disobedient children, or kill people caught in adultery, or offer animals as sacrifices, or never go into the Holy of Holies, put idol worshippers to death, etc.? The Law was a schoolmaster that we might be justified by faith. Now that faith has come, we are no longer under the schoolmaster. The Law is not of faith, Christ redeemed us from the Law. Trying to live under the Law frustrates the Grace of God, it says Jesus was not enough. Read Gal. 3. Bereaniam |
