61 | Can belief be excluded from exegesis | Ephesians | Cyclist | 62409
Brother John, It is good to give thanks to our God! Thank you Father for all of the wonderful things that you do! Thank you Father for ginving Your only begotten Son who gave His life for our sins! To be honest with you, I had to look up the defenition of "exegesis". That will tell you how much of an expert I am on theology. My answer is yes dear brother, and, as far as an explanation, I will let the scripture speak for itself. Eph 4:1 Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, Eph 4:2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, Eph 4:3 being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Eph 4:4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; Eph 4:5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, Eph 4:6 one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all. Eph 4:7 But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ's gift. Eph 4:8 Therefore it says, "WHEN HE ASCENDED ON HIGH, HE LED CAPTIVE A HOST OF CAPTIVES, AND HE GAVE GIFTS TO MEN." Eph 4:9 (Now this expression, "He ascended," what does it mean except that He also had descended into the lower parts of the earth? Eph 4:10 He who descended is Himself also He who ascended far above all the heavens, so that He might fill all things.) Eph 4:11 And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, Eph 4:12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; Eph 4:13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ. Eph 4:14 As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; Eph 4:15 but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, Eph 4:16 from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love. Always your brother in Christ, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

Dear TomBrooklyn, All praise and glory and honor be to God the Father who created the heavens and the earth and the seas and all that there is therein, and, to His Son Jesus Christ who died for our sins, who's name is named above every name in heaven and in earth! Welcome to this forum! Below are scripture references. I do not know what kind of forum the comment appeared on, but, it certainly has no place here on this one! If you need to ask about this sort of thing again on this forum, please write something like "Some made a comment on another forum that is not proper, using words that really shouldn't be said or written." Thank you in advance! That being said (written), this forum is a GREAT place to study and learn more about God's word. Eph 5:1 Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; Eph 5:2 and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma. Eph 5:3 But immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints; Eph 5:4 and there must be no filthiness and silly talk, or coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. Eph 5:5 For this you know with certainty, that no immoral or impure person or covetous man, who is an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. Blessings in Jesus Christ, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

63 | Hebrews 6:6 explained | Heb 6:6 | Cyclist | 37745
lonelyblue12, Hello! Cyclist here. Praise the Lord Jesus for the price that he paid for us! A debt he did not owe! There are some good postings on this scripture verse from an earlier discussion. At the top left of this page where it reads "Questions/Notes on Verse" type in Heb 6:6 and click "Go". What this verse says to me, my opinion only, is that when some one falls away, like I did once, that no matter what any one said to me to try to bring me back into repentance it had no effect. I knew the word of God more than most of them! I had tasted of the Spirit of the Lord! I'd had a wonderful experience! But I fell away. It was only through the conviction of the Holy Spirit and His use of the Word of God that I was brought back into the family of God. For I had fallen away, no doubt about it! Because I could not serve God the way that I desired, I had always wanted to be a great pastor or teacher and have the perfect God fearing wife and children that served the Lord the way that I did, I gave up and decided to live accoring to the desires of the flesh. Thankfully, Jesus loved me, and still loves me enough to draw me toward him. But no person (Christian) could bring me back to repentance. Praise you Jesus for what you have done for me! Hope this helps. Much love in Christ! Cyclist |

64 | can you forgive someone you love if they | 1 Pet 3:5 | Cyclist | 36468
Good day to you Alliss! Praise be to Jesus! He is the way, the truth, and the light! All glory be to Him! The Webster dictionary defines forgiveness this way: to pardon; to cease to bear resentment against; to cancel (as a debt); to exercise clemency; to grant pardon. The Word of God on forgiveness, and these are just a few: Mat 6:15 "But if you do not forgive others, then your father will not forgive you." (NASB) Mat 18:21,22 (21).....how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? up to seven times? (22)"I do not say to you up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven." 1 Peter 3:5 is the verse is the refrence to your question. One could get the idea that this question has to do with a marital relationship. If so, you may want to give a little more detail. That is up to you though. This is a forum for all eyes to see. If not you may want to seek guidance from your pastor or a christian counselor. In Christ's Love, Cyclist |

65 | What do you do as "saints" when you fall | 1 John 1:9 | Cyclist | 51393
Dear sufficient grace, All praise and glory and honor be to God our father! and, to Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, who thought not of Himself but sacrificed Himself for our sins! I, as well as many others, have been right where your at in your walk. Here are some steps I recomend: 1st. Believe and live by faith. Gal 3:11 Now that no one is justified by the Law before God is evident; for, "THE RIGHTEOUS MAN SHALL LIVE BY FAITH." 2nd. Find a true and faithful (stronger) believer. some one who walks after the spirit and not the flesh. Rom 15:1 Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those without strength and not just please ourselves. 3rd. Confess your sin (fault) to them. James 5:16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. 4th. Jesus takes care of it. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. I too will pray. Your brother in Christ, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

67 | What commandments? Torah? yes-no? | 2 John 1:6 | Cyclist | 140388
Greetings MJH! All praise and glory and honor be to God our father who created all things and to his only begotten son Jesus Christ our Lord! I haven't participated in the forum for almost a year but have checked in from time to time. I don't think that I am really answering your question but these scriptures came to mind. I'm going to track this question to see what type of answers you get. I am interested myself because this question has come to my mind too. John 15:12 "This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. John 15:13 "Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends. John 15:14 "You are My friends if you do what I command you. Gal 3:23 But before faith came, we were kept in custody under the law, being shut up to the faith which was later to be revealed. Gal 3:24 Therefore the Law has become our tutor to lead us to Christ, so that we may be justified by faith. Gal 3:25 But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. Gal 3:26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. Gal 3:27 For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. Gal 5:14 For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF." Many blessings to you in Christ Jesus, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |
