61 | James commentary recommendation? | James | Huron | 142484
I'm going to be studying James in a couple of weeks. Can anyone recommend a quality commentary on James. (I have been using Eerdman commentaries, not sure if they have one on James or not) |

62 | Does God guarantee prosperity? | James 5:6 | Huron | 150525
Does God guarantee prosperity to the righteous? Reading from James 5:4-6 it appears that the righteous man was a laborer working in the fields that had his wages witheld by the wealthy landowner. Since he was living hand to mouth, he eventually died. If God did guarantee prosperity to the righteous this could never have occured. Is this a reasonable interpretation to this verse, or am I way off? Thanks! Huron |

63 | Sacking of Jerusalem by Romans in view? | James 5:7 | Huron | 241990
In this text I see James meaning God the Father when he uses "Lord," and the coming of the Lord being the destruction of Jerusalem in the year 70 A.D. as prophesied by Jesus in Matthew chapter 24. Anyone else ever come to this conclusion?
64 | Jesus' sake rather than in Jesus' name? | 1 Pet 3:14 | Huron | 193814
In my church the pastor ended the prayer with "for Jesus' sake," rather "in Jesus' name." Should I ask him about this, or am I quibbling over nothing? Thanks! |

65 | baptism and the appeal to God | 1 Pet 3:21 | Huron | 142090
My take on this is that back during Peter's time people where baptized shortly after conversion. They made a pledge or statement of belief on Christ at the time they were baptized. This was part of the "appeal to God for a good conscience" which is what actually allowed Peter to say that "baptism now saves you." Am I in the ballpark? Thanks! Huron |

66 | The dead in 1 Pet 4:6 | 1 Pet 4:6 | Huron | 142356
Is it possible to interpret this verse such that it's saying something close to the following: "The gospel has been preached even to those who are now asleep in Christ. Though they are now dead, perhaps due to persecution, they live in the Spirit. Though they are dead now, Christ will have the final say." Thoughts? Huron |

67 | Jude quoting OT? Apochrypha? | Jude 1:9 | Huron | 96803
Anyone know what OT reference Jude is talking about here? I can't seem to find the original account. Might just be the fact I don't have a complete concordance. Thanks! Huron |

68 | view of millenium -vs- view of rapture? | Rev 20:4 | Huron | 171991
If you are Amillenial, Premillenial, or Postmillenial, how does that affect your view on the rapture? Would a premillenial believer assume that the rapture would occur before the millenium, and the post millenial believe assume a post millenium rapture? |
