521 | what is the realy massage of christ? | 1 Cor 15:3 | Tamara Brewington | 203741
The message that Christ proclaimed was repent of your sins for the kingdom of God is in your midst(meaning He was in their midst)and to belive that Jesus was God. Christ is a revelation of God's existence and that revelation was progressive starting with the prophecies of Him comming in the Old Testament and progressing to His advent on earth and then the revelation of Christ progressed after He was rejected and killed and then rose from the dead. Then the message of salvation progressed to that, Jesus is the Lord God, He died and rose again on the third day for our sins and if you believe this in your heart and confess it with your mouth, you will be saved, see Romans 10:9,10 to see what you have to do to be saved, which I stated here. All you have to do is repent and believe in Jesus and you are a Christian, there is nothing good you can do to earn salvation, by grace you are saved and that not of yourselves, you are saved by faith alone, by grace alone.
522 | who was the oldest man | Ps 90:10 | Tamara Brewington | 203740
Methueselah was the oldest man. Bit of advice, if God could send Jesus Christ as God and man, which is the ultimate miracle then there is no problem believing that men lived to be 900 years old and that their age then went down to 120 years as the Bible says; when the Bible makes plain sense seek no other sense or it becomes nonsene. Apply this to all numbers in the Bible except where the prophets are indicating that the numbers are allegorical. Creation was in six days, the Great Tribulation will take 7 years, the temple in heaven in Revelation has exact measurements as does the city of Jerusalem, you see the prophecies of the birth of Jesus said it would take exactly 400 years which it did and Israel was prophesied to go into captivity for 70 years which it did, and Israel was prophesied to go into captivity for 400 years which it did. Since every single prohecy in the Bible has come true so far and since every single prophecy with numbers has come true so far, then numbers are real and are not figurative, but literal.
523 | to get closer to god | Matt 6:6 | Tamara Brewington | 203738
Worship Him in your heart first and foremost, love the Lord your God with all your heart all your soul and all your mind. Believe Jesus is God with all your heart and that He brings you to the Father God, follow the teachings of Jesus and the Apostles and your soul will get purified, listen to Biblical teaching and preaching and study in order to get fed the pure milk of the word, praise God with songs He lives in your praises, fellowship with the body of Christ and love them as Christ loves you, pray for the relationship between you and God to grow. If you know Jesus as Lord, God bless you, if you don't, Jesus is Lord and He died and was risen on the third day, read Romans 10:9,10 to see what to do to get saved today.
524 | Is it a person or a thing that restrains | 2 Thess 2:6 | Tamara Brewington | 203737
This is the Holy Spirit doing the restraining. I can't find it right now, but in Revelation the Holy Spirit is removed from the earth at the beginning of the Great Tribulation and men become exceedingly evil and the Anti-Christ mentioned II Thessalonians 2:6 will have full power on the earth.

526 | Saturday or Sunday? | Bible general Archive 4 | Tamara Brewington | 203733
Whichever version of the Bible you own see Romans 14:5-12 where it says that each person regards one day above another according to his conscience and that it does not matter which day you worship. If you become a Seventh Day Adventist you will end up believing that your salvation depends on keeping all of the Old Testament Law, a concept which is contrary to the entire book of Romans. The Sabbath did not change, Christians in Acts met on the first day of the week, the day Jesus rose to honor Him. Nowhere does it say in the New Testament that you can be saved by good works and law keeping. You are saved by grace alone, by faith alone, or you aren't saved at all. Not hard to figure out if SDA's are saved is it?
527 | What is significant about the Word? | John 1:1 | Tamara Brewington | 203732
Word is Greek it means Logos which means all knowledge, someting said, reasoning, the Divine Expression, cause, utterance and Jesus is called the Word because He is the Divine Expression of all that can be known and all things were made through Him, by Him and for Him. In Bible times everyone knew that it meant the Divine Expression. 528 | Do we get saved by Baptism? | 1 Pet 3:21 | Tamara Brewington | 203731
Interesting view that veiwing these scriptures as opposing arguments is tough, but you did not reconcile the scriptures in question. I already agree that salvation is by faith alone, by grace alone. Are these really different aspects of God's grace, or are they irreconcilable?

536 | Which One IsThe Correct Way of Baptism? | 1 Cor 12:13 | Tamara Brewington | 203721
Not one of these scriptures says to be baptized more than once by water and every one is baptized automatically by the spirit, see Ephesians 1:13,14 for proof. The idea of infant batism stems from the erroneous belief that people get saved by the act of baptism apart from first believing in Christ (Methodist, Presbyterians)because of Acts 2:38 where it says to repent and be baptized for forgiveness of sins. So they believe that the act of Baptism does the trick rather than a true profession of faith in Chrsit. The idea of full immersion stems from dying down into the grave like Jesus and coming up out of the grave and rising from the dead like Jesus and usually the words, "baptized into the death and resurrection of Jesus" are used at a full immersion baptism. Kinda hard to go down into death while you get sprinkled... And kinda strange that getting sprinkled could have the power to save without going down into death fully and rising from the dead fully, which is one reason why the Church of Christ refuses to baptize young children(besides that children can't confess Christ which they do believe has preliminary power leading to salvation by baptism), but they do believe the dunk in the water does the saving...

538 | Widows and remarriage | 1 Cor 7:39 | Tamara Brewington | 203717
A widow is allowed to marry any free Christian, but not a divorced person... She is free to remarry, but he isn't.. Refer to Mathew 19:9 where it says that whoever marries a divorced person commits adultery. And see Mark 10:11 where it says that whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery. The issue is not whether a widow can remarry, of course you could, the issue is whether or not a divorced person could remarry and no they can't.
