401 | Age of accountability? | Is 7:16 | Tamara Brewington | 204084
This seems to be answered but I wanted to put my two cents in. I believe that whenever a child becomes aware they are a sinner is qualifying as their own age of accountability. My son reached his at age 7 and the pastor was careful to test his statement that at 7 he was saying he knew for sure that he was a sinner who needed salvation and that he was asking Jesus for forgiveness of sins. This testing process took three whole months and included my son walking up to me and saying, Mom, I need to know Romes 10, God is telling me I need Romes 10. So we got down on the couch and I read Romans 10 to him and when I got to the part that say, if you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart He died and was raised on the third day, you will be saved, he jumped up off the couch and said, that's it, that's it, that's what I need! The a month later he comes to me and says, Mom, God says I need John 3. So we got on the couch again and read John 3, and when we got to the part that says, for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life, my son jumped off the couch again and said, that's what I am looking for Mom, I want to get saved! I told the pastor all this, he had been praying how to discern if my son was really taking Jesus for his savior with a true knowledge of what it all means. So he kept taking my son up to the pastor's office and talking with him over the space of those three months. At the end he decided my son knew what he was saying and my son got down on his knees at home without me leading him and asked for forgivness and was baptized at 7 years old and was given full rights as a believer in Christ. It all started one day when the altar call came and he tried to move past me in the pew to get out and go forward and I told him he had to wait to go to the bathroom and he said, "Mom, let me by I need to go to the front becuase I need to get saved". There are no scriptures in the Bible telling you what the age of accountability is. Denominations differ and many say 12 is the age, some say it is 16. But I warn you, God will do whatever He wants to do and if He wants to call someone earlier He will. You have to be willing to be open to whatever God is doing and test that child, you and your pastor, test that child, find out if they know what they are talking about. Be careful, the Bible says in Mathew 19:14, "Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these". God Bless, Tamara |

403 | Clarification? | Rom 6:3 | Tamara Brewington | 204081
Hi this is Tamara, kinda jumping in here as I saw this in unaswered questions... Were you trying to reply back to someone? I kept getting confused and didn't put note, try to remember to put note, when replying to folks, your note even though it probably got to the right party ended up in unaswered questions. God bless, Tamara
404 | Pentacost | Acts 2:1 | Tamara Brewington | 204080
This is Tamara, try to remember, as I kept getting it wrong myself, to post things like this as a note, rather than a question, or else it ends up turning up in unaswered questions. God bless, Tamara
405 | Horn means king? Hour is 60 minutes? | Rev 17:12 | Tamara Brewington | 204079
I missed this one when I was answering you the other day... This one is ineed referring to a period of time longer than an hour, there are probably a few more like this in Revelation that I inadvertantly missed. I think when it comes to weeks and years in Revelation you can take that at face value. But where Revelation says in one chapter that something take a specific amount of time and then in another gives a hour we should take that to mean for a while, but look back to the other references in Revelation for specific weeks and years. This is because Revelation has a tendency to repeat itself, first it will describe something before it supposedly hapens and then it has a tendecy to take you to a place where it is supposedly actual taking place. 411 | Great star? | Rev 8:10 | Tamara Brewington | 204049
This is a different star, this star in Revelation 8:10 is probably going to be a meteor and not Satan the fallen angel. The purpose of this star is not to go take a key and open up the bottomless pit to let demons out as in Revelation 9:1. The purpose of this star is to destroy a third of rivers and springs and the men who drink of these waters will die. God Bless, Tamara
412 | Angel of the Abyss? | Rev 9:11 | Tamara Brewington | 204048
Most commentators see the falling star in Revelation 9:1 as being Satan. The angel of the abyss in 9:11 is Satan because he is the king over the demons who were locked in the pit. Satan has a spiritual kingdom of demons of which he is king and is called the angel of the abyss. He is given the key to where some of the demons are locked and he lets them out to torment for five months. We call him Satan, in Greek he was called Apollyon, in Hebrew he was calle Abaddon. Isn't it interesting how God will use Satan to do the 5th trumpet judgment? God Bless, Tamara
413 | Five months? | Rev 9:10 | Tamara Brewington | 204047
When the Bible makes plain sense seek no other sense or it becomes nonsense. The locusts, commentators say are demons with stingers and they have the power to hurt and torment for 5 literal months, but not to kill, that is how long the effect of one sting will last. Five months means literaly five months, take numbers literaly in Revelations, just like other numerical prophecies came true in the Bible, so it will when Revelation comes true. 414 | Solomon's judgment of Adonijah and Joab | 1 Kin 2:13 | Tamara Brewington | 204044
Doc you are pure gold! Thanks for the advice... I hear you loud and clear, where text says there is a type, there is a type, where the text says there is a shadow, there is a shadow, where the text draws a parallel, there is a parallel(like in Hebrews about Melchizedek and Jesus). Where there are silimarities those are legitimate similarities but if the various authors did not intend to draw that into a parallel don't make one... Got it Doc. God Bless, Tamara
415 | Are there dinosaurs? | Job 40:15 | Tamara Brewington | 204033
Are there dinosaurs in the Bible? Isaiah speaks of the Leviathan in Isaiah 27:1, and Job speaks of Behomoth in Job 40:15. Are these dinos? Or some other large creature now extinct? Scientists have proved these things exist and have differing opinions of whether or not these things were around before man, or during man. Opinions with any other scriptures please. God Bless, Tamara
416 | Biblical laws governing trees | Gen 1:28 | Tamara Brewington | 204027
Try looking at Genesis the first chapter where it talks about man making the earth to be in subjection to himself and and having dominion over the earth. And try Genesis 2 where God tells Adam to dress the gareden and keep it and not to eat of the tree of good and evil. I don't know of any other Biblical laws governing trees in the Bible other than Leviticus 19:23 where it says to count the fruit of the newly planted trees as forbidden for three years. Try this, go to www.blueletterbible.com and use the search engine there and type in trees, that is how I found the Leviticus text for you. God Bless, Tamara |

417 | Should Women Wear Hats? | 1 Cor 11:4 | Tamara Brewington | 204025
Dear John, I have repeatedly tried to attach the scriptures by going up to where it says in two different drop downs to do so. Every time I do my screen snaps out, even though I have not clicked go and I lose my page and have to redo the whole thing. So perhaps you could be so kind as to instruct me how to better use this feature, please.. I would not like to have the last word John, and I don't think this is a chat room. All my long questions have everything to do with putting the scriptures in context with my question and are not intended to take up space or to chat. What I have been consistently looking for is a chance to learn from someone else the answers to my questions, if there are any answers. What has consistently been happening is that I have been getting replies that are not being backed up with scriptures, which goes back to your point, that this is not a chat room, but is a forum for Bible study. And that is exactly, if you were to go back through each and every question that I have asked I have used this site for. And even though I was not able to sucsessfully attach a scripture, I have included in each and every questions the scripture and sometimes scripture in question. And to my knowledge some of my notes in reply are about as long as my questions and part of why is I am quoting the scriptures in them and exploring them in my answers... I actually do wear a hat all the time, I gave up wearing a bed hat, because obviously I can't possibly be praying or prophesying while asleep. Please laugh with me, I had to laugh at myself John... Obviously in I Corinthians 11:5 Paul is talking about women participating in the churh out loud in the congregation. Especially if you consider that they were prophesying, that wasn't silent. I am aware of the passage where Paul is telling the ultra-spiritual women to shut up and sit down because they were causing a disturbance in the congregational worship. Consider this passage with me about whether or not Paul had female ministers, not Pastors, but ministers; Romans 16:1 I commend to you our sister Phoebe, who is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea, that you receive her in the Lord in a manner worthy of the saints, and that you help her in whatever matter she may have need of you; for she herself has also been a helper of many, and of myself as well. Ok, note the word diakonos, there are many other times this word is used in the NT and in a lot of cases it is translated minister instead of servant(we all know a minister is a servant), but the translators decided, in harmony with the scriputre you mentioned because Phoebe was a woman, to say servant. However, the word there is in the masculine referring to a female and Paul did not make a mistake and he tells the church that when she arrives to give her whatever she needs. Now, it can't be that Paul was merely talking about housing and food, because he says she was working with him in ministry and he calls her a minister, there is no way to get around it she was a minister. Albeit she was working under the authority of Paul, a man, in keeping with the concept of headship, she was not an overseer like Timothy. Consider another one with me; Acts 18:24-26 where Priscilla and Aquilla were both teaching Apollos together. Although Priscilla was teaching Apollos under the authority of her husband Aquilla, she was indeed teaching. Also interesting is that Paul consistently lists Priscilla first whereever he speaks of this husband and wife team, he may have had a reason to do so. Last, but not as important, God made Deborah a judge over Israel with full authority, rule and rights over all of Israel including the men and they all followed her, an acception to the norm for then, I grant you. Do you see what I tried to do here as I have cosisitently done? I keep on presenting either a question based on the text I cite or quote, or a reply based on a text I cite or quote. This is not chat, it is Bible study and I believe the intent, if not the content is within the guidelines set forth in this site. I am sorry you are so offended that my questions, and maybe my answers seem to darn long. I tried to be concise, some of the questions were not simple, life situations may seem simple, but I am asking about the scriptures that attend to those situations and am interested in what the Bible has to say as to the over arching principle of a thing. And my concern about hats is not pendantic about an outward show of conformity, it is about an inward desire to be obedient to God in all things as He is the ultimate head of the church. I hope I am still teachable to you. God bless you John as you continue to teach... You sister in Christ, Tamara |

419 | God has a backside or is it His anger? | Exodus | Tamara Brewington | 204023
Ok Steve thanks I agree, so in light of this response do you see why perhaps I think of both Moses and us getting changed into states of glory because of seeing God's glory? I keep thinking about the angels, who have spiritual bodies which have fronts, backs, sides and wings, although some of them have four front sides... Is it possible then, that God was not simply using anthropormorphisms, but that He actually has a front back etc.? God bless, Tamara
420 | When we see God will talking change us? | NT general | Tamara Brewington | 204022
Ok Steve I hear you, but you got me wondering from looking at your texts there about this part; but we know that when He appears we shall be like Him because we shall see Him a He is... And what does it mean to see Him as He is? Notice it does not say we will understand Him and be changed, it says we shall be like Him becaue we shall see Him as He is... What will we see then, is the question? Will we see Him in all His glory? Will that change us? This goes to another question I had about Moses seeing the glory of God and it changing him or was it a little talk(now I ask you, didn't Moses have a myriad other talks face to face with God without getting changed, what was the real difference between talking one time or another other than seeing the backside of God in all His glory?). The relationship with Jesus is already happening and we are already being changed from glory to glory, one day we will reach a final state of glory at the rapture. Yes we are going to put off the imperishable and put on immortality, but so will unbelievers get an immortal body capable of withstanding the awfull throes of eternal damnation instead of enjoying the eternal presence of God. We already understand Jesus to the extent that we are saved, as walk with Him we get closer and closer, but we won't actually finally be changed until we see Him with our eyes as He is. Maybe I got it wrong... God bless, Tamara
