Doc Trinsograce, I thank you for the kind words. But if you have an answer to a question on the board let go with it. It maybe that your style of communicating reaches someone better than someone else's. We should all have the same goal to bring Glory to our Great God and Savior Jesus Christ not ourselves. May God Bless. In The Love Of Christ, tgc
42 | What Is The Meaning Of Life? | Bible general Archive 2 | tgc | 125934
The meaning to life is to bring praise and worship and glory to God. Country Girl has made an excellent reply, you should by all means follow up on the study suggested. I heard David Jeremiah bring an excellent message on these passages at the Worldview Weekend when that event took place in Memphis this past winter and it drove me to do this study myself and to preach on it later. Another resource you will want to checkout is Rick Warren's book The Purpose Driven Life. Hope this Helps. In The Love OF Christ, tgc

New Creature, ok I'll bite. 1. Faith 2. conviction 3. repentance 4. salvation 5. regeneration Salvation and regeneration are so close I assume regeneration here to be an ongoing process I would normally refer to as sanctification. However another way to see this is that after one comes to the point of repentance and accepts Jesus as Lord and Savior He then regenerates the heart. This should be an interesrting post to follow. New Creature, Sorry not to get back to you sooner. The reason I give the list the order I do is because I think it is really hard to seperate salvation and regeneration. The way I understand it when a person comes to the point of repentance and calls on the Name of the Lord and is saved at that point salvation occurs and when salvation occurs one is given a new heart or regenerated. In this man has no hand,it is all the work of Christ. The next step in the process is santification where we are conformed more to Christ likeness everyday. There are some who would link this with regeneration making it also an ongoing process I however hold to the ideal that regenerstion and salvation are basically happening at the same time. Let me close with this to maybe backup my position. In Romans 10:13 Paul writes " For whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved." This would lead me to belive that salvation happens at the very moment that one calls on the name of the Lord. Then in 2 Cor. 5:17 Paul states, " Therefore if any man be in Christ he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold all things are become new." In short my understanding is this, if we are instantly saved when we come to Christ in repentance, then we would instantly be in Christ and when we are in Christ we are a new creation or regenerated. I hope this answers your question. In The Love Of Christ, tgc |

Ancient and Stultis, There is no seceret list of topics. However as has been pointed out this is a study site not debate site. You both wonder why respective post have been restrictive. Just honestly read the threads. I have been invovled in many threads that have been restricted as I like to take on the hard questions. These post have been restricted because they are argumentitive and both deny clear teachings of The Bible. The Lockman Foundation says it will do this in the Terms of Use Agreement we all agree to before being allowed access to the forum. What I belive is being done here is tring to protect young belivers and those weak in the faith from such agrumentive positions. Please know this my opinion and not that of the Lockman Foundation.

Good Evening, New Creature, I have not been ignoring your questions just have not had a chance to answer them. I thought I had answered the definition of regeneration, however I was probly unclear so let me offer this. Rgeneration : When Christ renews ones heart and gives that person the new nature or if you will the point a which the new man is born. This is entirely the work of Christ and man has no hand in it. Yes I belive an unregenerated man can respond to the Gospel. The Bible teaches that salvations comes by grace through faith. The Bible goes on to tell that faith comes by hearing the Word of God. To elaborate I belive that all of us have a seed of faith planted deep within us. This can be demonstrated by simply looking around us, take for example the athiest, I wuld say he has more faith than me, to belive there is simply nothing beyound man himself and completely eliminate any ideal of any kind of god. Another example would be the evolutionist who can put all his faith in the ideal that something came from nothing. Everything just happened by chance. These two positions take huge amounts of faith to honestly hold to. However when one hears the Gospel and responds to conviction of th Holy Spirit by the seed of Faith that God has planted in them, then the ground work for salvation is in place. So I guess the short answer to that part of your question is that all who come to Christ have an unregenerated heart. I relize that there are many who will disagree with me on this but this is where I stand. I hope I have clearly answered your questions. In The Love Christ, tgc |

New Creature, I think our wise brother Tim Moran has spoken well in that we can discuss this but with the understanding over all scripture is silent on the actual order of these events. Now on to answer your questions. The question you listed as 2. In my opion regeneration comes after salvation and therefore there is no contradiction at all. 3. Leaarus had to have heard the command from his Lord to rise from the dead. Then he obeyed the command come forth. So in this case I would say that the dead did hear the command of his Lord. 4. I did not relize that I had mixed faith and regeneration. What I said is that salvation comes through grace by faith. My understanding would be grace and faith are the agents of salvation. That is to say regeneration takes place after salvation. 5. Lazarus heard the call to come forth from the dead and responed to that call. Although his response was through the power of his Lord Jesus Christ. In The Love Of Christ, tgc |

epbfaith, Get alone with God and listen to Him.Many times we are so carried away with the fact of having an opportunity to teach that we forget to stop ask God what to teach. Get alone in a quiet place with an open Bible and a heart of prayer and seek to Face of God, remember be open to HIm not tring to go in your own direction. Let me share a short story with you. I was ask to preach a funeral for a missionary who died on thefield while in Aferica so I had about 10 days in which to prepare however as hard as I tried I could not get a message together for the funeral. Finial 2 days before the funeral with all the family in town I was called to the home where I tried to comfort family members but more importantly I was given her journal to read. That night I could not sleep so about mid-night I got up and went to my desk with an open Bible and prayerful heart finally about 4:30 am I went back to bed with the message done. What came out of that nights work was God's message not Tom's. I wish I could say that I gave a great presentation bvut I did not it was actually lousy, but God used His message and souls came to Christ not through me but by Him. The point is I finally quit tring in my own strength and let God. So all the glory and all the honor were His as it should be. So get alone in a quite place clear your mind get into God's Word and ask Him to speak to you. Speak Lord for your servent is listening. I hope this helps. In The Love Of Christ, tgc |

mikec, As for your beliefs that is something you must workout for yourself, however as far as prayer let me offer this in hopes it will help. First what is prayer? It is one on one communication with The Creator of the world The Lord God Almighty. Prayer is how we build our relationship with God it is how we get to know Him better. Your prayer should come from your heart nowhere in scripture are we given a formula of a certain prayer we shuld always pray although we are ginen a model prayer in Mat.6:8-13 commonly known as The Lord's prayer here certain principels of prayer are laid down. 1. To acknowledge to whom we pray. 2. To pray for God's will in every aspect of our lives. 3. To rely on God for all of our daily needs. 4. To pray for His forgivness of our sin to to give us a forgiving heart. 5.Pray for God's guidence in our lives. 6. Glorify God. Other things that can be included are intercession for others. Prayer should come from the heart it should be a time of open your heart to God and listen for his response by p-raying with an open Bible and studying it daily to beeter know Our Great God and Savior Jesus Christ. A great book on this subject is The Prayer of Jesus by Hank Hanegraaff, this is a short book that is easy to read and understand. Hope this has been helpful. In The Love Of Christ, tgc |

54 | 2 classes of people, 1000 year reign? | Bible general Archive 2 | tgc | 141357
The answer to your question is going to depend on the view of end times prophecies that the person answering holds. There are severel different views on this subject the most popular and the one that put forth this ideal is based on a dispensational view point that is that God deals with the church and Isreal as two distinctly different groups of people and through this view the whole ideal of a pre tribulation rapture springs. Mind you I am not saying this wrong but there are other widely accepted views of the matter as well. I personally have been looking at these issues for about the last 3 years and still have not come to firm conclusion on the matter but just fyi know that there are severel acceptable view points on this question and that this is a secondary issue one which we can discuss vigorously but need not divide over. There are some extremly good books out on thi issue from every side of this argument you might do a search on Christanbook.com , or tey equip.org as just a couple of examples. I really hopr this helps. In The Love Of Christ, Tom |

55 | Genesis 1-27 | Bible general Archive 2 | tgc | 141358
Without going into great detail see if this helps. Yes God is Spirit and yes Adam was created in the image of God and yes Adam was createds first with a body. Here is what i found that is meant by the image of God anf that is the heart which is made up of theree parts the intellect, emotion and will. All of these are attributes that are only found in God and man. These are also the parts of man that God works through to call man to Himself. With the intellect we can hear God's word and respond to the caling we feel with our emotions, through our will we make the choice of how to respond either to accept the call or reject it. Hope this answers your question. In The Love Of Christ, tgc
56 | Help me find an accurate study Bible? | Bible general Archive 2 | tgc | 141443
My two favorite study bibles are the Nelson complete study system and the MacAruther mine are in NKJV. However the NASB is an excellent translation and I really do not think you could go wrong with choice I personally would lean toward The New Inductive Study Bible because of its organized approach to Bible study. This is the system which I recommend to all those who I teach. A quick look at Christan Book.com will give you an ideal of the many different choices that are out there. Greetings Ken John, Overall I must agree with what you have posted. However consider this the sign gifts ceased at the death of the last apostle. And the passage in 1 Cor. you refer to " when that which is perfect is come" Couldn't that be the Bible. Just a thought Would like your input. In Christ Love, tgc

Greetings Ken John, The verse I refer to is 1 Cor. 13:10 " But when that which is perfect has come that which is in part will be done away". What I suggest is that the Bible is that possibly that which is perfect. In Christ Love, tgc

Seacher, Do not take this note the wrong way it is not directed in a mean spirited way at you. But here is the question I pose how important is the question of tongues? I have noticed that this thread is very active and growing all the time which shows me that there is a huge interest in this question but as long as we can agree that tongues is not necessary for salvation and that if an unknown tongue is spoke in a church meeting it has to be translated then checked by scripture then what is the big dael. I relize I have been very active in this thread and I am just throughing out something that has been on my heart. In The Love of Christ, tgc
