2 | Miss JW please answer this question | Not Specified | tgc | 121494
Miss JW, As you are well educated in the beliefs of the JW I was wondering if you would please answer this question for me. From what I understand JWs believethat Jesus is Micheal the archangel and it is also the JWs belief that the New World Translation is the inspired word of God. With this said my question is this. In Jude 1:9 NWT But when Micheal the archangel had a difference with the Devil and was disputing about Moses' body, he did not dare to bring a judgement against him in abusive terms but said May Jehovah rebuke you. As it is clear to see Micheal will not om his own rebukethe Devil. However in Matthew 8:28-32 When he got to the other side into the country ofthe Gadarenes there met him two demon-possed men coming out from among the memorial tombs unusually fierce so that nobody had the courage to pass by on that road. And look! they screamed saying "What have we to do with you, Son of God? Did you come here to torment us before the appointed time? But a long way off form them a herd of many swine was at pasture. So the demons began to entreat him saying " If you expel us send us forth into the herd of swine. Accordingly he said to them GO! They came out and went off into the swine; and look! the entire herd rushed over the precipice into the sea and died in the waters. NWT Her Jesus rebukesthe demons on His own authority andthe demon recognize Him as The Son of God not a son. Please explain this very startling difference if they are one in the same tgc

When Christ talks about the new cloth on an old garment or new wine in an old wineskin is He using this as a picture of the Holy Spirit indwelling a beliver. I would really love some input on this one I have wrestled with it for a long time. In Christ Love, tgc |

4 | Who is Melchizedek | Not Specified | tgc | 121813
Who is Melchizedek? Some say he was a mortal man who was a king. Others say he was A preincarnate Christ. It seems to me that if I look at Hebrews 7:1-2 it would support the view of a preincarnate Christ. Any input on this question would be greatly appreciated. In Christ, tgc |

8 | Explantation of Gen. 6:1-6 | Not Specified | tgc | 127573
Sorry I mistakenly posted this in the notes secection when it should be a question. Sorry about the mistake. I have been pondering on this question for some time. So I thought I would seek the wisdom of many of you on the forum. In Gen. 6:1-6 NKJV) Genesis 6:1 Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them, 2 that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they [were] beautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose. 3 And the LORD said, "My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he [is] indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years." 4 There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore [children] to them. Those [were] the mighty men who [were] of old, men of renown. 5 Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man [was] great in the earth, and [that] every intent of the thoughts of his heart [was] only evil continually. 6 And the LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. Here is the question it seems from what I can learn the classical reading of this is that "the sons of God" refered to in this passage are falling angels and that these fallen angels had relations with human women that bore children from these relationships. Here is my problem first of all Jesus Himself said angels are sexless beings in Matthew 22:29-30. Another problem I have with this is if in fact fallen angels and human women had children where would they fall in the plan of redemption. Would this not be a new ontological creation? Any help with this will be recieved thankfully. In The Love Of Christ, tgc |

11 | Romans 5 What is Paul saying | Not Specified | tgc | 141355
Hi guys I know i have been away for awhile but have been very busyboth with school and church. It seems I have come to a difficult point in my studies and could really use some input, my question comes from Romans chapter 5: 12-14. Does this passage indicate that God did not hold people accountable for their sin in the time between Adam and Moses? I realize that the law had not been given but could not the arguement be made for natural law and the possibleity that the sacfrical system was introduced in the Garden of Eden when God Himself made the first animal sacfrice to cover the sin of Adam and Eve, and did not Job make sacfrices to God to cover the sin of himself and his family, as well as God telling Noah to take animals on the arch with him so that he could oofer sacfrice? So did God hold people accountable for their sin during this time? What exactly is Paul saying in this passage? Thanks in advance for your help. In The Love Of Christ, tgc
12 | What nonsense is this? | Bible general Archive 2 | tgc | 120135
Being new to this website I do not know how people normally word their questions and answeres. But I do know that in many of our churches if you do not speak christanise your lost in most of the conversations. This has always been a problem for me as we try really hard to get non churched people to come into to the church and run them away with the strange way we talk. In many cases these people thank we are talking down to them and that is terrible. So I guess in a nutshell what I'm tring to say is although these people may wish to seem super spiritual they are most probly hurting the cause of Christ. If you will look at all the gospels Jesus always spoke in lanuage people could understand easily. tgc

good evening, mkm9 What is a church plant? That is when you start a new church from the ground up. When doing this it is really interesting because you have no building or facilities to work with. My job in the church is the director of outreach ministies. I try to teach people how to share their faith and then convince thwm to go out and do it. And you are right what is"cowgirls"? By the way for a new church to be considered a plant it must be a new work not a result from a split. |

15 | Not e to mkm9 | Bible general Archive 2 | tgc | 121009
hi, mkm9 Thanks for the clarification never heard the term "cowgirl" used that way before. Let me try to explain church plant alittle more indepth. when I use the term split I am refering to the viloent seperation of a local body over some frivilous arguement. Of course there are other churches involved in a support role. If you would like specific information about this particular work check out our web site www.hopeshere.com As far as to what do I teach maybe disciple would be a better word you see rather than pull members oput of other churches our membership comes from our core group sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ and seeing people come to know him as their personal Lord and Savior. Then I help them to grow in the faith til they can go out and reproduce themselves. You see my personal passion is to share the Good News of Christ with everyone He gives me the opportunity to. As far as your comment about following in Him and not denominations I whole hearedly agree although I do work within the Southern Baptist Convention I do not pledge my support to the SBC but I pledge my whole life to Christ. I would love to hear more about your ideas along the lines. In Christ name tgc |

16 | Thanks, and here's another question. | Bible general Archive 2 | tgc | 121440
Hello ripken8os, The question you are asking is one I have heard many times and even ask myself. I think if people arehonest all of us have had this question so do not feel alone. First of all the answere to your question is faith. However I will not leave you there how does our faith grow by the Word of God. The first thing we have to establish is can we belive the bible. Of course you know we can but what proof is there. There is the arciological proof today arcilogist are using the bible to help them find where to dig and when they do dig they find just what the bible said would be there. Next there is the manuscripe eveidence there is more manuscript evidence foe the bible than any other work in ancient history. So with that we know the bible we have is the one God meansfor us to have. Ther are other proofs we could go into but I think this should satify to answere thispart of your question. The next thing to do iskeep a prayer journal of what you pray and how God answeres I think you will be suprised at how much He is commmunicating to you if you just take time to listen and a journal is a great way to do this. Stay in the Word pray and listen for God to answere just anote He normally answeres through His Word. I really hope this helps In Christ tgc |

17 | Purpose of Prayer? | Bible general Archive 2 | tgc | 121441
HI Hank, I belivethe answere to your question can be found in Matthew 6:9-13. As you most likely know this is what is referred to as the Lord's Prayer. I belive there are all the principles and purposes of prayer revealed here. Fist of all we acknowledge who we are praying to andthe fact we only want His will not nessacarily our own. Next we look foward to His coming while asking to make difference for Him in our world today. So first we worship. Next we bring our request and acknowlege our dependency on Him. Then we ask for forgiveness and the strengh to forgive. Next divine protection Then we acknowledge from where our Hope comes and the Majasty of God and HIs kingdom. Also we see in the Psalms that David basically carried on conversations with God so should we rememebering that prayer is a two way conversation not just us bombarding God. But the bottom line to all of this is that it is the way we build our relationship with God. If we do not have communication with someone how can there be any relationship. For example if I neber carry on a conversation with my son how will I know him and he know me. Prayers main purposes are to build a relationship between us and God and to teach us to trust Him. Your Friend in Christ tgc |

20 | How do you define cult? | Bible general Archive 2 | tgc | 121570
greetings bstudent, There are a few different ways to define a cult. It depends on whether you are speaking in socoicological terms or religous terms. I would assume your question comes from Hanks question to Miss JW.. In the religous sense a cult would be defined as any group that teaches something other than biblical Christanity while still trying to use Jesus's name.. In the case of JWs deny the dieity of Jesus Christ they deny that hell is a real place, they believe that only 144,000 people will go to Heaven and those from the Heavenly class of the JWs withch Ielive they sy ended in 1935. These are some examples of why a group would be called a cult. A wonderful book on this subject is THE KINGDOM OF THE CULTS by Walter Martin there are currently two editions avaible one edit by Hank Henegraft and one edited by Ravi Zacharis. hope this helps tgc |
