Hebrews 10:3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year. 4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. 5 Wherefore when He cometh into the world, He saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared Me: They were sacrificed in faith looking forward to the true sacrifice, Jesus. In Genesis 2:16-17 God pronounced the judgement for sin. 16 The LORD God commanded the man, saying, "From any tree of the garden you may eat freely; 17 but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die." You are correct, Satan only lies to us...we believe the lies and sin. But the point was that God pronounced the judgement for sin upon mankind. He did not 'retract' it for Jesus. If Jesus paid for OUR sins, what price did He pay? God bless |

"The wages of sin is death (Rom 6:23) Jesus died on the cross." The wages of sin was not mere physical death. When the sinners dies physically he does not cease to exist. God bless |

The will of the Father...which was...? John 10:18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father. Hebrews 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. Who offered Jesus? One minute you say Satan did not have authority over Jesus, and now you debate His act of yielding? Which was it? Jesus voluntarily took OUR sins and paid OUR price. God bless |

"Who set the price for sin? God of course and what was that price.? Death! Not being tortured in Hades by Satan." So where would the sinner go? God bless |

You said, Why look for truth in a false doctrine? I'm sure it may contain some but why look? If is looks like a duck, quakes like a duck, swims like a duck, eats like a duck why not call it a duck why try to find out if it might be a pig? And why again do you throw the problem back to me? Why can't you admit you were mislead? Your are right Ed, You are so openminded and I am so closed minded... God bless |

"If worm did mean "sin" which I believe it is steetching it a bit it wouldn't matter because we know swin was cast ON Jesus. But My arguement is this Sin had NO power over him nor did Satan. You show me one verse in the Bible that shows otherwise." I agree. Sin did not overpower Him, He yielded to it. If I yield to someone trying to kill me what will happen? They will kill me. If I yield to somone trying to take me somewhere I do not want to go, what will happen? They will take me there. Jesus YIELDED HIMSELF to take our place. He yielded Himself in faith that God would raise Him.Thus themeaning of "Into Thy hands I commend My spirit". By yileding Himself to take our sin upon Himself, He yielded Himself to Satan, but only until the time was up. At which time He was raised triumphantly. At THAT time He led captivity captive. Our sin offering is the blood, our victorious resurrection (the New Birth) is in His resurrection. Romans 1:3-4 3 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; 4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead: 1Peter 1:2-4 2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied. 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, You said.. "What you are doing by making that claim is saying Satan had power over God! Which means he got his wish:" No, I am saying Jesus yielded Himself to the full measure of our penalty. Jesus' obedience did not depict Satan's AUTHORITY over Him...but He did yield to the powers of darkness on OUR behalf. OUR RANSOM. But because He was obedient and sinless Himself, Satan could not hold Him, He had power over the grave... Matthew 20:28 just as [Matt 8:20] the Son of Man [Matt 26:28; John 13:13ff; 2 Cor 8:9; Phil 2:7; 1 Tim 2:6; Titus 2:14; Heb 9:28; Rev 1:5] did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many." Ransom..the release of a person or property in return for payment of a demanded price. Let me ask a question...Who set the price for sin? God or Satan? God bless |

I guess we will know exactly what happened during that three days when we get to Heaven. We have come full circle back to 1Peter 3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: 19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; 20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. And no doubt none of us are any wiser than before. God bless |

No Ed, I am not wandering, you are simply so obsessed with anti WOF that you can't see or acknowledge any truth taught by any WOF teacher. God bless |

55 | A FALSE TEACHING? Yes / No | Matt 8:5 | gracefull | 94277 | ||
I was just thinking of when I was a child and heard the gospel message. Jesus died for my sins. He paid the price so I would not have to.... Now that I see in scripture that He did indeed descend, the doctrine of Jesus going into ANY PART of Hell proves true. Now to say that one must realize that to be saved I do not agree with. I did not realize the depth, and still do not, of the price paid for my soul, and yet the Holy Spirit brought conviction upon me and revealed Jesus as my sin offering. I do not believe anyone, especially as a child, can even begin to comprehend the sufferings of the cross much less 'descending' and being seperated from the Father. So I do not agree that believing Jesus descended into hell is not criteria for salvation. The fact that she has retracted this part of the statement is good. Summation...to believe Jesus paid the price for my sins is absolutely necessary for salvation. The understanding of the depth of that message can, and usually does, come after salvation. God bless |

Worm Strong's 8438 crimson, scarlet, worm Also used in Isaiah 1:83 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as SCARLET, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. "Worm there is not sin for mankind, It is simple they were mocking Jesus on the cross which the context of psa 22:5-6 would probably mean that He is not a man meaning they were not treating Him like a man but like a warm. For you to say Worm equals sin of mankind it would make more since for him to say I am a man not I am not a man but a worm." 6. But I am a worm and not a man, A reproach of men and despised by the people. 7. All who see me sneer at me; They separate with the lip, they wag the head, saying, "Thats as far as it goes. Also remember Jesus said I give my Spirit into the father's hand." So Act's chapter 2 is not true either? Acts 2:24-28 23 this Man, delivered over by the (26) predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, (27) you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put Him to death. 24 "But (28) God raised Him up again, putting an end to the agony of death, since it (29) was impossible for Him to be held in its power. 25 "For David says of Him, 'I SAW THE LORD ALWAYS IN MY PRESENCE; FOR HE IS AT MY RIGHT HAND, SO THAT I WILL NOT BE SHAKEN. 26 'THEREFORE MY HEART WAS GLAD AND MY TONGUE EXULTED; MOREOVER MY FLESH ALSO WILL LIVE IN HOPE; 27 BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT ABANDON MY SOUL TO HADES, NOR ALLOW YOUR HOLY ONE TO UNDERGO DECAY. Peter goes on to say that David was not raised so theses verses are prophetic concerning Jesus..not left in Hades... While so many here on the forum defend doctrine... I present scripture, the only real test of TRUTH. God bless |

Hi Darcy, PS I am not a she :) OOPS, sorry. This did not answer my question..without scripture to discuss issues, the rest is opinion. "Also don't think I am attacking you, I just don't want to see any one fall away." I neither feel attacked or am going to fall away. I have been following WOF teaching for over 25 years. What bothers me on this forum is the lack of willingness to actually discuss the teaching and less attacking the persons. God bless |

PS You said.. "Quite frankly I would not listen to a man that called Jesus a worm in any context. Call be silly but that is my Savior." Since all scripture is given by inspiriation of the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit inspired the Psalmist to write this. Since there is at least adequate reason to believe Jesus was quoting this Psalm to teach us..I would have to contest your statement as a man calling Jesus a worm...It would appear that the Holy Spirit was fortelling Jesus's great suffering and Jesus was affirming that sufering. God bless |

Ed, "Actually I never made that connection and I don't think it is valid. In Psalm 22 the writer is describing himself as a worm. I don't see how that is can be interpreted as the sin of the world but even if it could, is that an appropriate title to call the Son of the Living God? I don't think so! I call Him Master, Savior, King of Kings, Holy One of God, Prince of Peace, Mighty Counselor. Quite frankly I would not listen to a man that called Jesus a worm in any context. Call be silly but that is my Savior." There is adequate reason to accept that Jesus was quoting this Psalm on the cross. Psalm 22:1 My God! My God! Why have you abandoned me? Verse 6-8 But I am a worm, not a man, scorned by everyone, despised by the people. All who see me jeer at me; they sneer and shake their heads:"He committed Hmself to Adonai, so let Him rescue Him!" Does this not describe the crouds jeering at Jesus? Verse 14-17 describes the suffering of the cross, then verse 18 says, " They divide my garments among themselves; for my garments they throw dice. This describes the suffering of our Lord. Would I dscribe Him as a worm? NO! I know Him as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords BECAUSE of what He suffered. Because He was despised and afflicted, and because He took my sin upon Himself. This Psalm does not disrespect Jesus but exalts Him as the supreme sacrifice paying the supreme price. 2 Corinthians 5:21 He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. (NASB) 2 Corinthians 5:21 21For our sake He made Christ [virtually] to be sin Who knew no sin, so that in and through Him we might become [[1] endued with, viewed as being in, and examples of] the righteousness of God [what we ought to be, approved and acceptable and in right relationship with Him, by His goodness].(Amplified) Jesus did not merely suffer physicaly, as horrible as that was in itself. I know some teach that His physical suffering was all He endured, this Psalm indicates otherwise. And 2 Corinthians seems to substantiate this. He did not just die for sin, but was made sin for us. But whether the suffering on the cross or believing He became sin for us, is a depth issue, not a salvaton issue. To accept Jesus as saviour for our sins is the way to salvaton regardless of the 'depth' of suffering we believe. The blood poured out for our sins... God bless God bless |

Ed, Please don't be offended. Darci made a statement of accusation. I was asking her to either back it up with a scriptural discussion of the topic. As believers we need to be very sure when we accuse someone that we are basing it on more than heresay. If hers is based on here say, she needs to look into it further, investigate what she hears, compare, then come to her conclusions. You and I do this even though we don't agree. God bless |
