41 | What say you? | James 1:26 | Saint Luke | 163535
lionheart, Sorry for the misunderstanding, this wasn't directed towards you. I was sure I directed it to "recarnier". I didn't feel I was lambasting anybody, or arguing, just quoting what scripture says. Don't need to know a whole lot about a person to identify something that is incorrect. Maybe I don't write with the eloquence of some, but why have this person continue in a situation that is out of GOD'S will (if you believe what is taught in the Word)for years and years, having this false teachings and who knows what else instilled in their tender and impressional heart until they are "a mature Christian" (which you know as well as I, this probably will never occur if this church can't see this is incorrect procedure) Do you leave a child in the middle of the street until he "matures" (learns on his own what the stop lights mean) or do you take them out of the street and teach them? brend L clearly said, "First thing I would do is pray for her...and also ask God what you should do (in prayer)." What to do, What to do...Pray versus obey......hard choice??? We already know some of GOD'S will, it is written down for us...I just provided the references (pointed out the obvious) for recarnier. I guess you are right, we don't know if this person is even saved, or has even heard the Gospel, as it is presented in GOD's word. Maybe I should start asking them to descibe their salvation experince. It may be a real I opener for me. And yes, I did read the disclaimer before I submitted. Sorry again for the misunderstanding. 42 | Do I need to leave the church? | James 1:26 | Saint Luke | 163518
Recarnier, First thing I would do is FOLLOW GOD'S WORD!!!!! Lets first see if she should be in the position she is in to begin with. 1 Tim 2:12 says, "But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet." If the congregation is all women, I don't see a problem with it. If the menbership has men in it, SHE should not be in authority over a man. Is she Married??? If yes, she should not be in the position she is in. The other supporting Scriptures are: 1 Tim 3:2 An overseer, then, must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, prudent, respectable, hospitable, able to teach..... Titus 1:6 namely, if any man is above reproach, the husband of one wife, having children who believe, not accused of dissipation or rebellion. The Word Of God says "the husband of one wife" never "the wife of one husband".... As advised by brenda L to pray about it...why? is GOD going to change HIS word IF YOU ARE DIRECTLY AGAINST THE WORD OF GOD, YOU ARE WRONG. Praying about it is not going to change GOD'S WORD......or GOD'S mind...... Advice to you. If she is married, or she is in a position of authority over a man, why are you still attending the church? Find one that follows the Word Of GOD, In Christ, Luke |

43 | Jesus and the law. | Deut 14:1 | Saint Luke | 163444
Lionheart, Clearly stated below, THE BIBLE SAYS.... 1st Covenant (testament) OBSOLETE . New covenant ( NOT THE OLD TESTAMENT THAT WAS ADDED ON TO), set in place and given to us when Christ died.... Hebrews 9:16 Old Testament is gone. Read Galatians, quit putting yourself under the bondage of the Law, we have been delivered from the Law, and now live in LIBERTY. Heb 8:13 When He said, "A new covenant," He has made the first obsolete. But whatever is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to disappear. Heb 9:15 For this reason He is the mediator of a new covenant, so that, since a death has taken place for the redemption of the transgressions that were committed under the first covenant, those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance. Heb 9:16 For where a covenant is, there must of necessity be the death of the one who made it. Hope it helps, Luke |

44 | Can you please explain tithing? | Deut 14:1 | Saint Luke | 163366
You are right! It is all HIS!! The Tithe is not required in the new covenant. Keep it in context. Mal 3:6 puts this class of people required to tithe as "ye Sons of Jacob". The Tithe wasn't money, you'll notice he didn't want the tithe put into a vault. Read Leviticus, the tithe was food!!! Imaging putting food in an offering plate at your church!!! I'm not Jewish, therefore not a son of Jacob. I have been delivered from the law (Old Testament) of Sin and Death! Read Galatians. Quit going back and inserting the Law of Moses into the Christian Life! By the way, GOD doesn't want your money, Christ wants to live HIS life through you, he forgave your Sins (all of them) when Christ shed His blood and Died on the Cross. Mankind has been forgiven of our sins (PRAISE GOD) We've been reconciled to GOD, planned before the foundations of the world, Ephesians 1:4. John 3:16 says "whosoever believes will have EVERLASTING LIFE" It mentions nothing about forgiveness of sins. It has already been provided for us. God Bless |
