41 | Has Moses law been re established? | John 5:29 | MWLaine | 187045
Will we/me be judged? I know nothing except what the Holy Spirit guides my mind to within scripture. I examined Luke 24:25-27, 44-48 and I find it interesting that Jesus himself, upon resurrection, had to teach that His descriptive presence in the Word is scattered all over the Old Testament. And because those scriptures were fulfilled from his birth by a virgin, through his life, death, and resurrection, in like fashion we can expect fulfillment of the as yet unfulfilled Old and New Testament prophecy after the point that Jesus was taken up into Heaven. Those relative future prophecies that have had their fulfillment started with the gifting of the Holy Spirit, at Pentecost, and have continued to this day. Fulfillment will continue until all the Books through Revelation has been proved true. What an exciting and fearful day for humanity when Jesus returns. Humanity can read and know that many are going to be thrown into the Lake of Fire for the simple fact that they did not believe or put their faith in Jesus, and thus they denied the living God. So much wailing and gnashing of teeth will occur, as prophesied, because people will become 100-percent aware of how far they missed the mark. So close and yet so far..."Kerplunk right into the Lake of Fire". If anyone deserves it...I do!!!...that is why I am searching the scriptures..."Am I? or Am I Not? on the narrow road to salvation?" I think so but God have mercy upon me if I am missing the mark. Many people, if questioned, would admit that they think there is a God, and they think Jesus came to earth, yet they do not believe God or Jesus is relevant to their lives. Thus they deny the power and reality of God. Wouldn't this fulfill, in most peoples lives, the breaking of the unpardonable sin spoken of in Matthew 12:31 "Therefore I say to you, any sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven people, but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven. Matthew 12:32 "Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come. We know that until the last second of life it is possible to receive paradise through the simple act of believing in Jesus and thus believing in God. But once we pass into the forever more...We will be judged. I think we all will come before the judgment seat of the Almighty and Powerful living God. I expect my own knees to knock out the tune, by the Beach Boys, "Wipe Out". But, then I am hoping that the promise, found in Psalm 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us., will be my salvation. Because of the following promise that those who believe in Jesus will not be cast aside...I can have rest in the knowledge that I will not be cast into the Lake of Fire. I expect that because of my sin I will be ashamed of myself beyond the pale when I stand in the presence of God and Jesus. How shameful it will be to have all my dirt divulged and then know that I imposed upon Jesus so maliciously to carry one more sin, and yet another, and another. What the hell is wrong with me? God Have mercy on me, the sinner. John 6:34 Then they said to Him, "Lord, always give us this bread." John 6:35 Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst. John 6:36 "But I said to you that you have seen Me, and yet do not believe. John 6:37 "All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out. John 6:38 "For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. John 6:39 "This is the will of Him who sent Me, that of all that He has given Me I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day. John 6:40 "For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day." Who knows, but God and those who are now in eternal torment in hell, of Gods righteous judgment. Such a small sin to man rationally concerning the eating of the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. We see an apple consumed. Come-on God its just an apple!!! But, God saw pure and simple disobedience. Out of the Garden of Eden you go. So will the day of judgment be without the saving grace of Jesus. MARANTHA Mwlaine “Yours in Christ” |

42 | How to witness to an Islamic? | Rom 9:30 | MWLaine | 164348
lebo, Very problematic. I know that those of Islamic Faith believe that Jesus the Christ was only a prophet, and is not greater than Muhammed. I also have determined that works are very important to those of the Muslim Faith...as in the requirement to Pilgrimmage to Mecca at least once in a Muslims lifetime. My own attempt with an Iranian Muslim, who had become a friend at work, helped me to understand some things about the Muslim world. I know that it is very important to have a friendship/relationship with the Middle-Eastern person to whom you are witnessing. I found that Massoud Banan and I became friends and only then did he open up enough that we could hold deeper conversations concerning religion. Hopefully you realize that the branch of Ibrahim's(Abraham) family tree that was Ishmael is the well from which the Islam Faith springs. Search for and review the site on the internet concerning the Hajj and Mecca to learn a little about their holy sites that surround the event of Hagar taking Ishmael and leaving from Sarah. You will find that a well that sprung up at Ishmaels feet is considered to be part of the Holy site of Mecca. A last word of warning be very cautious about nay saying the oddities of the objects concerning Mecca or the Hajj. Massoud did not like it when I was astounded about the Black Rock in the obelisk in the center of Mecca, and the black room at the top of the tower. I feel it is very Satanic and only laughed slightly which offended Massoud. Avoid any nay-saying comparative assessment between the religions. I stuck later with speaking of my Baptism and the way my life was changing once I had accepted Jesus Christ as my Saviour. That seemed to be the best way I could shine the light of God as a simple reflection of what was happening and good in my life. Let God do the rest. I selected a verse in Romans(9:30) which speaks of law and the pursuit of law to obtain salvation as being a stumbling stone. Faith in Jesus Christ begets righteousness and Jesus is the stumbling stone for many who believe that through works they can attain salvation. I believe the Muslim faith is very much about works. |

43 | gifts of Healing and Miracles for today. | 1 Cor 12:9 | MWLaine | 187051
Hi Van, Is it not miracle enough that every new heart given to those saved, because of belief in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, Savior of All men, give rise to shouts of Hallelujah. Sometimes it is hard to see the miracle of re-birth in a new Christian until one has spent enough fellowship time with them. Once the obvious signs of the Fruit of The Spirit are seen in their lives, as defined in Galatians 5:22, we should be able to declaratively say we have witnessed another miracle. The miracle of re-birth is pretty awesome. And blessed is the man or woman who does not see but still believes in Jesus. Many times I would think that requiring a sign before belief is acknowledged would be a dangerous continued gage, for babies in the faith, to know if they are walking the narrow path to salvation. I have even been privileged enough to have witnessed what I would term minor miracles more akin to witnessing Gods unfolding plan. And I have had prayers answered. Both did lead me to a stronger faith, but, I think that the really unbelievable miracles, as accomplished by Jesus and the Apostles, were provided as a means for God to really get the ball…a rolling concerning the church. In engineering terms it takes a lot of energy to change the inertia of an object. And as an object the Jews of Jesus’ day were definitely a stiff-necked and perverse generation. The priests running the show liked the status quo. So in order for God to change the course of His people I think it was necessary to provide a lot of power in the miracles performed by Jesus. An even lesser degree of power was used in those miracles performed by the Apostles. Jesus started the ball a rolling with lots of power, the Apostles provided some less powerful thrusts of energy to help pick up the speed, and as Acts so vividly portrays it was no time at all before thousands of small miracles of regeneration were powering the Christian juggernaut. The church grew by leaps and bounds to the point where Luke stopped even trying to count the number of new believers after 5000. So in engineering terms we find that for any body in motion it requires a lot of energy to start moving but less energy to keep that body in motion. My experience at the church I attend testifies to the truth that new believers are being added daily in my community. After Easter 2007 we have seen some remarkable growth with lots of new babies in Christ. We the Saints must train them up in the way they should go but certainly their miraculous addition adds power to the Christian juggernaut. Why would bold audacious miracles be required at this day and age? Might we still be searching for a sign from God? Can’t we be witness to all those miracles written about in the bible by opening our minds and our bibles? What I am not so sure about would be the need for miracles as a means to encourage the church? I am sure that people still have prayers answered and are sometimes privileged to take note of the perfect timing of God as his plan unfolds. But, I suppose I would be somewhat afraid if I started seeing lots of miracles performed by WHO??? I can read and am warned to beware of those who might mislead the very elect through the use of miracles. Have the Saints slacked off in keeping the churches inertia? If so and the churches inertia were starting to fall away and God, desiring revival, might be so inclined to pump up the energy through some well timed and placed miracles then I suppose it would be Gods prerogative. But, I don’t think so unless it is found in the prophecy of things to come as already written in the bible. I know there are a lot of hurting people out there who desire healing. I have a son with cerebral palsy and would love for physical healing to come upon him so that he could leap and caper like a deer. But, more than that I love to see how he is changing since his salvation and the knowledge of Jesus comes into his mind. At the end of my days I want to look back and say with confidence to my son…”See you in heaven”. If anything more is added to that it is just extra gravy on the mashed ‘taters. 44 | How to determine demonic posession? | Eph 6:13 | MWLaine | 221480
I wonder about demons or Satan himself possessing a man who posts at the Ray Comfort blog site? This man loves to screed in the form of hateful attacks on fellow Christian bloggers and extreme blashphemy against God. It makes me wonder...as he posts under the name Bullhorn Twotails. Does anyone know about how to determine demonic posession? |

45 | How to determine demonic posession? | Eph 6:13 | MWLaine | 221489
The inerrant bible...of course I believe the bible is perfect from stem to stern. Why don’t you just say that instead of sola scriptura? I had to Google sola scriptura to decide if I was serious about it. You know this type of response is why I stopped coming here…except for using this site to look up scripture that I can relay to other bloggers as I communicate with real atheists at Ray Comfort’s blog. So to those men and women who run this site thanks for the nice reference material and biblical search engine. It is quite the blessing. I can see though that I am not serious enough for this vaunted ivory tower. So fare thee well. MWL |

46 | what does "Wives Submit" really mean? | Col 3:18 | MWLaine | 181362
Bernadette, Ephesians 5:22-33 Describes the Marriage of Man and Woman to be similar to that of the marriage between Jesus and the church. Jesus loves the church(people) so much that he died for the people so that the all men might live. A husband is told to love[present tense] his wife. Which is acted out in an ongoing second by second love. Even when the wife is being unlovable. Conversely the wife is supposed to respect(present tense] her husband. Which is acted out in an ongoing second by second respect. Even when the husband doesn't deserve it. Eph 5:33 Nevertheless, each individual among you also is to love his own wife even as himself, and the wife must see to it that she respects her husband. My wife and I struggled for many years, and still do minimally, concerning Gods Word here in Ephesians. But we did get some help in the form of some books. We have read the books by Shanti and Jeff Feldhahn called "For Women Only" and "For Men Only". We both read the book that was supposed to be the others manual and confirmed that the books were "right-on-target" and then we gave them to each other. Quite an eye opener when you realize how differently men and women think and act under identical situations. It is also very enlightening concerning the "Love" and "Respect" part of the equation. And, you are right it is not an absolute dictatorship it is a marriage...a combining of what is good in a woman and what is good in a man into a cohesive unit that is conducive to raising children. Under the Love and Respect umbrella the woman can be happy and so can the man. When you and your husband finally wrangle the idea of Love and Respect into your marriage you will find yourself asking your husband to help make decisions that have an effect on the household and marriage. And he will start to give you freedom through love because you will have proven yourself to be a Proverbs 31:10-31 Wife. But, if you have marriage busting discord in you and your husbands lives you would do well to get into church fellowship with other married couples to take some Marriage Bible Study lessons. Or, see a biblically backed marriage counselor. For what God has joined together let no man(or woman) tear asunder. In the name of Christ may you clasp hands and pray together that Jesus becomes the central focus of your marriage. Then when either participant of the marriage has fallen short in the role they are to play it will be possible for the married couple to still stand face to face and although they appear to be looking into each others faces they can be looking over the shoulder of their loved one to Jesus who will never disappoint us. Amen, MWLaine |

47 | Is the end at hand? | 1 Tim 4:1 | MWLaine | 179544
Is there any evidence concerning the end times that people will experience visions and dreams that give spiritual credence to the approach of the Lord Jesus. I had a vision while praying the other moring that I was standing in a field with a scythe in hand, other laborers where present and I heard a voice say..."the harvest is complete". This troubled me greatly because I do not know it to be true as there are so many extremely lost souls all around me. I feel a need that we Christians need to re-double our efforts to collect those souls that are being lost. Has anyone else experienced anything similar?
48 | Is the end at hand? | 1 Tim 4:1 | MWLaine | 179571
Thanks Doc, I had considered the thought that deceitful spirits could be roiled in this vision. But, if it was an attempt to stifle my enthusiasm, for testifying of my salvation in Jesus Christ, it did not work as I testified bodly of Jesus later that same afternoon to a lost soul. I really appreciate your post of 1 Timothty 4:1 as it allows me to see both sides of what might be happening. Thanks, MWLaine |

49 | So do we all start as wheat plants? | 1 Tim 4:1 | MWLaine | 182286
While reading Jan 10th, 2007 in "The MacArthur New Testament Commentary" Matthew 8-15, by John MacArthur, I found the following report by William Barclay in Chapter 11 The Messengers of The King(Matthew 10:1). When Martin Luther became convinced that the biblical way of salvation was by God's grace working through man's faith in His Son, Jesus Christ, he began earnestly preaching and contending for this doctrine that became the hallmark of the Protestant Reformation. A friend of his was equally convinced of this truth, and the two men agreed that Luther would spend his time in the world preaching, writing, and debating, while the friend would spend his time alone in a monastery upholding Luther and the cause of the Reformation in prayer. As Luther visited the friend from time to time and reported the difficulties and obstacles of the work, the friend would intensify his praying. One night the friend had a dream in which he saw a gigantic field that stretched over the whole earth. But only one lone figure was working in the field, and when he looked closer he realized the lone figure was his close friend Luther. When he awoke he realized that he had to also go to work with Luther as he realized that Jesus' statement in Matthew 9-37:38 "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest" applied to him and all Christians who have been assigned to go into the world and carry the good news, of Jesus, to all the corners of the earth. To say the least I was stunned because I immediately realized that this was nearly my exact dream, occurring around the 10th of November 2006, just before leaving for Su Zhou, China, for work and any evangelism I and another co-worker could squeeze in. And to make things even more God pimply my friend attends an Evangelical Lutheran church while I attend a basic non-denomination Christian church. The one difference is that I also heard a voice in my dream say either “The Harvest is Nearly Complete” or “The Harvest is Complete”. Needless to say while we were in China from November 15th through the 30th of 2006 we witnessed too many and had some truly wonderful God moments. There was one particular event that has whetted my appetite to work and see more of Gods plan unfold if only God will include me. I pray that I would be given more opportunities to work for God. I report it here in front of other Christians that they might pray for me, MWLaine, and themselves, and all Christians that they too will become workers to be sent out into The Lords harvest. I pray that all readers of this document earnestly ask themselves what they can do to be sent into the harvest. Time is short, truly. It appears the Harvest is “Judgment Day” and we who will work are but workers tending the fields. In Revelations 14:14-20 it appears that angels reap the clusters from the vine of the earth, and throw them into the great wine press of the wrath of God. And the wine press was trodden outside the city, and blood came out from the wine press, up to the horses’ bridles, for a distance of two hundred miles. Also, being knowledgeable about Jesus’ parable in Matthew 13:30 in which the wheat and tares are allowed to grow up together and only at harvest are the tares separated and burned, I become confused as it appears that the truth is there may be an argument for pre-destination as there may actually be some humans who could not under any circumstances come to believe in Jesus Christ even if Jesus danced the Charleston in front of them because they are tares. So as workers tending the field our only real opportunity to see another human come to Christ is to plant wheat (our children), and/or weed, hoe, water, and fertilize around our own or someone else’s wheat. A seedling of wheat is always a seedling of wheat, and a tare always a tare. How do you change a tare to a wheat plant? Why would one human be a tare and one human be a wheat plant? But, then I have also been taught that babies and young children have a point in the lives in which they become responsible for accepting Jesus. Before that, where they to die, they would be accepted into heaven because they have no sin thus making them wheat? So do we all start as wheat plants and then eventually, because of sin, turn into tares? And can a tare be changed into a wheat plant? |

50 | Will Christians be judged at our death? | Heb 9:28 | MWLaine | 176977
A question my wife was asking me last night as we drove home from Lexington Kentucky after seeing our niece get Baptized. "Being reborn at salvation means that our sins are forgiven. So at the end of our days on earth are we judged? And does Jesus stand in our defense to declare us as one of his own thus protecting us from Gods Judgement?(Imputed Rigteousness) Or are we Judged by God at our death for sins we have committed since our re-birth after accepting the gift of grace?". My wife believes we will be judged but I believe we have taken on the righteousness of Christ, through believing in him, and thus are seen to be pure and spotless as Jesus himself.
