41 | WHERE are they taken? | Luke 17:36 | Jeff W | 139934
Hello kalos, Sooooo many people overlook these verses. This question that the disciples ask Jesus is so pertinant to the deception on the "rapture" teaching that is so prevalant. Those who are taken are taken to hell and judgement just like you stated. Where the vultures are gathered together. The "Left Behind" deception has swept over the world with a cloud of darkness which has blinded the eyes, and understanding of millions of God's children. Those who believe in the pre-trib rapture position think that we will have a second chance after God "raptures" His church. Is there any examples throughout scripture of second chances? Noah? Sodom and Gomorrah? Korah's rebellion? Any second chances? This world will be destroyed by fire, and if we are not in the ark of safety: Jesus Christ, we will be consumed with it. 42 | Where will they be "taken" to? | Luke 17:36 | Jeff W | 139932
Hello, Praise the Lord brother. There are many who will say that these are taken to heaven to prove the pre-trib position. But you hit the nail on the head. Those who are taken are taken to perdition. In fact in Revelaiton 19:20 John uses the word "taken" to describe the beast being "taken" to the bottomless pit KJV. These are not taken to heaven, but to where the eagles are gathered together, where the dead carcasses are gathered during and after armageddon. God Bless you Jeff W |

47 | What pecentage of UK homes have a Bible | Bible general Archive 2 | Jeff W | 139891
Hello, This is a very pertinant question. I have friends that live in England and one of them has a literature ministry. He mails out hundreds of thousands of invitations to partake in bible correspondance courses. Very few, I believe he said 1 percent, respond to the call, nevertheless he still has a great burden for his people. God Bless you Jeff W |

48 | death | Rev 7:9 | Jeff W | 139889
Hello, Here is another question that can be directly answered from scriptures. In Isaiah 66:22 we read: "For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so will your seed and your name remain." Gofd Bless you Jeff W |

49 | How close are we to end times | NT general Archive 1 | Jeff W | 139887
Hello, Let's let Jesus answer that question from the book of Matthew chapter 24. The whole chapter has to do with the difining of the "end times", but there are some particular verses that give us clues especially verse 14 the gospel of the kingdom will be preached before the end comes. The gospel has had more freedom now than ever in history. The bible is written in more languages. . . In Daniel 12:4 he is told: "But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal up the book, even to the time of the end. . ." Is the book of Daniel understood today? I believe it is. 50 | when will the rapture take place | NT general Archive 1 | Jeff W | 139885
Hello, This is another hot button issue among the professors of Christianity, but thanks be to God for His sure Word which gives us ALL the truth. Jesus answers this question very simply and completely. This answer should put an end to any doubts about when He is going to come and take His people. Matthew 24:29-31 states: "Immediately after the tribulation of those days. . .and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds. . . And He shall send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather His elect from the four winds. . ." paraphrase. God Bless you Jeff W |

51 | Hebrews 6:4 -Am I a useless cause? | Heb 6:4 | Jeff W | 139884
Hello, Did Jesus die for useless causes? Jesus died that you might live, right? What does Jesus death mean to you? I also feel like a useless cause, but I know that jesus is my life and salvation, only through Him does my life mean anything. How do you know you failed at salvation? God Bless you Jeff W |

52 | Is it posible to lose your salvation? | Heb 6:4 | Jeff W | 139882
Hello, This quesiton has sent tremors throughout God's professed people, but like ALL basic doctrinal questions the Word of God gives us perfect and complete answers. I always use the KJV so all references come from that. Here are some verses that are certain regarding this very tampered subject. Ezekiel 18:24 states: "But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? . . ." Read the rest of this verse to find out what happens when a righteous man commits sin. In 2 Peter 2:21 states: "For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them." Read verse 20 also. Hebrews has the most powerful evidence that we can make ourselves lost, put ourselves into a lost condition by sinning. Chapter 6:4-6 states: "For it is impossiblefor those who were once enlightened. . . If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance. . ." Paraphrase These verses are very certain. Jesus will never leave us nor forsake us but we could sure leave Him. He knocks on the door of our heart; Rev. 3:20, but we have to open the door, and many don't. Many even open the door and slam it shut in his face. |

53 | Why is the Sabbath now Sunday? | Ex 20:10 | Jeff W | 138264
Hello Today, I am not a Jew but I am an Israelite. I am of Israel spiritually not physically. What I wrote was that the commandments werre not given to the Jews like many believe and teach. The Israelites are the people of God today. All throughout Pauls writings we read verses like this: ". . .they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: neither because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children. . ." Romans 9:6-7 KJV. Check out Romans 2:28 or Galatians 3:16. Praise God for this forum. God Bless you Jeff W |

54 | Filled with the holy spirit? | John 14:16 | Jeff W | 138217
Hello, I was not implying that feelings aren't involved, but when we make feeling the requirement for receiving the Holy Spirit many people get discouraged thinking that they have never received the Spirit when they have. Sure there could be feelings involved, and I'm sure many have had experiences where they felt the presence of God. Amen? God Bless you Jeff W |

55 | Why is the Sabbath now Sunday? | Ex 20:10 | Jeff W | 138216
Hello, I would like to take a moment to thoroughly respond to this post little by little. First you state that the old testament regulations regarding the sabbath are ceremonial, not moral. I agree with you because the regulations which the Jews put on the sabbath made it such a burden which drove people away from God. All through Ezekiel, and most of the prophets God says that the jews have profaned His sabbath, and by adding manmade regulations they did just that, but God's seventh day sabbath was given to man by God Himself. Many want to use Colossians 2:14-17 to support the thought that the commandments, especially the forth have been "nailed to the cross". But when we breakdown what Paul writes here we find something quite different. "Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances. . ." what are ordinances? Is the constitution of the united states ordinances? The constitution is the law of the land, the bill of rights are ammendments to the constitution, these are the ordinances. Just as God's TEN commandments are His unchangeable, immutable, written with His own finger in stone laws, not ordinances. Jesus stated, quoting from Isaiah 29:13, ". . .teaching for doctrine the commandments of men." The jews were guilty of this forever. They tried to turn God's law into mans traditions, forcing all to obey their ordinances, and yet hiding the truth from the honest seeker. This is one of the reasons Jesus came, to show us how to keep the moral law. When you look at Col 2:16 it uses sabbath in the plural. During the time of the feast days all the feast days were called sabbath dayS. In Leviticus 23 we read about many of these sabbath feast days. Also in Leviticus 16 we are told about the day of attonement sabbath. These are the shadows that Paul writes about in Colossians. AAMOF the meat, and drink refered to in this verse is meat and drink offerings that have been polluted. I ASK ALL; Who was the TEN commandments given to? Was Abraham a Jew? Was Moses a Jew? Abraham, who was given the new covenant while he was uncircumcised, was a Babylonian from Ur of the Chaldeas. Moses was a Hebrew born and raised in Egypt. To say that the TEN commandments were given to the Jews, well, that just doesn't add up. There were no Jews at Mount Sinai. If you read Ezekiel 20:20 closely it does not mention the jews, it's talking about His people, aren't we His people today. The new testament does not command anyone to observe the sabbath, but there are many examples of sabbath keeping throughout, especially the book of Acts. AAMOF the sabbath commandment is mentioned more than any other commandment in the new testament. To say that the apostles were just keeping the sabbath because they were accustumed to it but after they all died the SUNday started to be recognized for some reason or another, this does not add up either, because we read in Hebrews 4:8 "For if Jesus had given them rest, then would He not afterward have spoken of another day." There are many worship services in the book of Acts, but the apostles never had a place to worship, their church was wherever people were gathered in Jesus name. They worshipped on beaches, by rivers, in houses, etc. Let's take a look at Acts 20 where Eutychus fell from the church. First off, what time does it tell us when Paul was preaching? One ths first day of the week, he preached until midnight, then Eutychus fell, then he preached until the break of day. When does the the first day of the week start? Back then, as should be today, the days started at sundown, so the first day of the week started at sundown on sabbath, and to preach to someone does that tell us that he was keeping a certain day holy? God's Commandment is explicit, it tells us to keep THE seventh day holy. I have bible study, and preach on any day, but the sabbath is the Lord's day, set apart for HIM. As for keeping the sabbath before sinai, well, even the commandments were kept by the Israelights before sinai. Please read Exodus 16, especially verses 28-29. When the apostles met to write the letter to recomend what laws to obey, you will notice these are just the cermonial laws which they imposed on the Gentiles. The letter didn't tell them not to kill, or steal either. In Galatians 4 we must remember who Paul is writing this to. These Gentiles had a form of worship, and they did observe days, and weeks, and months, and years. Not necessarily the sabbath. Romans 14 does not even mention anything about keeping anything holy. Romans 14 tells us that some days we will be happy and some days we won't. It tells us that we all regard days differently, let us all be persuaded in our own minds. AAMOF I am not trying to persuade anyone, all I can do is share what the Lord has laid on my heart, and I thank you all for the priviledge. Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath! Consequently the Sabbath is the Lord's day. Happy Sabbath God Bless you Jeff W |

56 | the Son of man is Lord of the sabbath | Ex 20:10 | Jeff W | 138214
Hello, Amen brother, We should always lift up Jesus 24/7. But this is not what the forth commandment is about. We are told by God himself to set apart one day per week for Him. Yes we are to be fully persuaded in our minds about everything we do, but if God tells me to keep THE seventh day holy I will. This is not any day of the week, we know that the seventh day is the day before the first day in which Jesus resurrected. Many are quick to admit that easter falls on SUNday, and every week many worship God on the day that commemorates the resurrection. BUT when it comes to what day is the sabbath more than many become purposefully ignorant, THE seventh day is obviously the last day of the week and falls on the day before the first day, and this is the day that God chose for us to set appart for Him. I have been keeping the sabbath holy (most of the time) for many years, and it is such a blessing to look forward to during a hectic week, God's rest day. Happy Sabbath God bless you Jeff W |

57 | Why is the Sabbath now Sunday? | Ex 20:10 | Jeff W | 138208
Hello, In the 4th century AD Constantine who was a Roman emperor saw a sign in heaven which was a cross, and a voice told him in this name conquer, so he baptised all his troups and instantly they were all Christians, but at that time the Romans seemed to be the only people who worshipped on SUNday, well, them and the heathens. They worshipped the venerable day of the sun, in fact that is where the name SUNday came from, right from sun worship, even all of our weekday names come from heathen sun worship practices. Most languages of the world call Saturnday sabbath. For instance In Mexico it is called sabado, in Swahili it is as-sabt, but in Tibet it is called the seventh planet, Saturn, and the other weekdays in order are sun, moon, mars, mercury, jupiter, venus. Out of 160 languages, 108 of them call Saturday the Sabbath. God Bless you Jeff W |

58 | Filled with the holy spirit? | John 14:16 | Jeff W | 138207
Hello, Many believe that they must "feel" something when they receive the Holy Spirit, but one of my favorite verses is John 3:8, it states that the wind blows where it will and we cannot see it, but we see the results, so is the Holy Spirit. We could be sad or glad, sorrowful or full of joy and still have the Holy Spirit in our lives. The Holy Spirit was given to us for specific reasons. Jesus states in John 14:26 that God will send the Comforter in His name to do what? Also jesus states in John 16:8 that when the Holy Spirit (Comforter) comes He will reprove, or convince, or convict the wolrd of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgement. So the Holy Spirit is very important in our lives personally. Without Him how would we know if we are sinning, or righteous? God Bless you Jeff W |

59 | Is the grace the Holy Spirit? | Eph 2:8 | Jeff W | 138206
Hello Lorenzo, Grace is unmerited favor. As Christians we are told in Eph 2:8 that we are saved by grace. . . Just what does that mean? God's unmerited favor allowed Jesus, the sinnless One, to die in our, the sinners, place. Meaning that Jesus took on Him what we deserve (death), so that we could recieve freely what He deserves (eternal life). But how does grace save us??? What is grace for??? In Romans 1:5 we read that we have been given grace FOR OBEDIENCE. This is soooo important, many say "I'm 'saved' by grace" and this is what they believe will save them, just a profession. This study should be the most important issue in every Christians life. How does grace give us obedience? In 1 Cor 1:18, 23-24 we are told that the cross is the power of God and the wisdom of God. Where do we see God's grace manifested most evidently? At the cross. When we are tempted (BTW temtation is not sin) to sin, we are given a powerful tool to give us victory over that temptation, and that is the cross, the power of God. When we are tempted to sin and we look at Jesus on the cross what does that do to our hearts? We don't want to crucify Jesus again by sinning, so through the power of the cross we realize that the sin we are about to commit put Jesus on that cross. Grace is the most important aspect of the Christian's life. I cannot stress this enough. If we are saved by grace don't you think we ought to know what it means. God has given me a burning desire too exhaustively study this subject and He has given me all the tools needed for the years it is taking to come to a better understanding of it. God Bless you Jeff W |

How do you know that you do not have a personal relationship with Jesus? Is there a feeling we are suppose to feel when we know that we are walking with Jesus? Read what Jesus states in John 3:8. There is no feeling requirement for knpowing we are "saved". The way to tell is found in 1 John 2:3. |
