21 | Will sin enter heaven? | Rev 21:17 | Jeff W | 140713
Hello, First of all I would like to biblically define what sin is. 1 John 3:4 tells us: "Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth the law, for sin is the transgression of the law." I only use KJV. If sin is the transgression of the law, well the first question would be which law? In 2 John 5-6 we read that it was the commandment that we have heard from the beginning. . . Also we are told in Revelation, the last book, to keep the commandments of GOD. Rev. 14:12 and 12:17 and 22:14. We are to obey the law, Jesus stated "If you love me keep my commandments" John 14:15 Jesus also tells us in Matthew 19:18 to obey the commandments. James equates the commandments with the royal law in chapter 2:8-12 he also calls it the law of liberty. I could quote verses like these all night. To say that we are not to obey the law is doing what Jesus tells us about in Matthew 5:19. You might want to really pray about whether or not to obey God or man, and whoever tells you wou do not have to obey God I would run away from that person or commentary, and snuggle up to the Word of God. I have given you a couple of verses that tell us we have to obey the commandments. Please show me one that tells us we do not have to. God Bless you Jeff W |

22 | WHERE are they taken? | Luke 17:36 | Jeff W | 140708
Hello, I hear ya! Be ready is the main theme of all the warnings on the second coming. But we are also told that those who are ready will not be overtaken as a thief in the night. 1 Thes. 5:4 BTW Peter is the one who tld us to be ready always to give an answer to everyone that asks you for a reason of the hope that is in you. 1 Peter 3:15. :) This doctrine of the "pre mid post rapture", which is farily new, is one of the most perverted doctrines, next to the doctrine of conversion and sanctification. The devil knows where to attack God's people. The sabbath is another one. God Bless you Jeff W |

23 | WHERE are they taken? | Luke 17:36 | Jeff W | 140704
Hello Doc, Amen brother, I believe the post trib has much more scriptural support that any other, because in my humble opinion the Word of God is one way or the other, I don't believe God would, very graciously give us His word, and leave us guessing about it. The scriptures are very cut and dry. And although there may seem to be many gray areas, in time the Holy Spirit will reveal them if we truly seek Him with our whole heart. God Bless you Jeff W |

24 | WHERE are they taken? | Luke 17:36 | Jeff W | 140480
Hello, I use to believe in the pre trib rapture, but after years of reading the Word of God, and listening to the bible on cassette all night, driving in my car, pretty much wherever I went, for many years, the Lord convicted me about His word being plain as day. The commentaries are beneficial for getting the setting for the book, and there are many other benefits, but I hear too much commentary when I quote verses and get presumption, and suppposition in return. There are many who are led to believe that when the church is "raptured" then they can get ready for Jesus to come again. This is the second chance I am referring. This is not an ignorant statement because The Lord has given me the priviledge to study with many evey night for years, and this is what I was hearing, even I used to believe that. 25 | when will the rapture take place | NT general Archive 1 | Jeff W | 140478
Hello, Look at Daniel 12:1 again and you will see a strange thing takes place. Michael the archangel satnds up, This is highly significant in regards to a time frame. When a king or a monarch stands up from the throne, especially in such a conspicuous manner something major happens, a war, or some kind of final judgement was about to take place. Also Michael stands for the children of God's people. . . isn't that God's church? This is definitely an end time prophecy and to suppose that the church differs from God's people, well I don't know. 26 | Will sin enter heaven? | Rev 21:17 | Jeff W | 140475
Hello Brad, Are you telling me that you will never stop sinning? Or that it is impossible to stop sinning? First of all let's establish what sin is. There is a biblical definition of sin in 1 John 3:4 "sin is the transgression of the law." That is plain enough, the breaking of the law is sin, just as breaking the speed limit is illegal. If you are obeying the speed limit you are actually dead to that law, that law has no effect on you. But if you break that law you have transgressed, and the penalty of that law can be used against you. In court the judge says case dismissed, you have just been saved by grace. What happened to that law? Did that speed limit law get taken away because you were just saved by grace? How can we be dead to sin and alive to sin both? If we are willfully sinning we are alive to sin. If we are dead to sin we are not willfully sinning. This is where we really need to be true to ourselves and follow our conscience, because the Holy Spirit convicts us of sin and righteousness, and of judgement. This is the job of the Holy Spirit. John 16:7-11 Jesus kept the law perfectly to show humanity the the law can be kept. The devil is very crafty because many of God's dear people are being led away by these errors that tell us "there is none righteous" or "I will never stop sinning" or "I sin every day". Is it a sin to be tempted? God Bless you Jeff W |

27 | WHERE are they taken? | Luke 17:36 | Jeff W | 140474
Hello Kalos, Amen brother. Our infinitely wise heavenly Father gave us a simple gospel messsage so that even a child could understand salvation, but He also gave us information that the wisest of philosophers are silent about. One verse that I have been baffled with is John 3:13 where Jesus was explaining to Nicodemus a truth that would cause him to wonder about for the rest of his life. I sure wonder about it. Jesus is there talking to Nicodemus and in heaven at the same time. This is way beyond my finite wisdom to grasp. God Bless you Jeff W |

Hello The church has always had persecution, and today it is not very opressive like during the reformation, or the times of the disciples. We do not know what persecution nor tribulation is! Especially in the USA. In Russia, Romania, Africa, East Germany, these dear people of God have been through much persecution, but the tribulation period hasn't even begun yet, like Daniel writes in 12:1 a time of trouble such as never was since there was a nation, and Jesus seconds that motion in matthew 24:21. But in Daniel it gives us a time frame When Michael stands up, whenever that might be but it seems to be right befor Jesus comes. God Bless you Jeff W |

30 | Will sin enter heaven? | Rev 21:17 | Jeff W | 140118
Hello Well, do you believe that when we walk in the Spirit we are still sinning. Romans 8:9 states that we are not in the flesh but in the Spirit. . . Why does Paul "die daily"? Why do we have to take up our cross daily? Because the Christian walk is a battle that constantly rages, and in Christ there is only victory, there is no defeat 1 John 3:9. What does it mean to be partaker of the divine nature? Is this a sinful state for us? Is this an impossible achievement? I tell you only in Christ can we become partaker of the divine nature, and this state is a complete change of heart, our desires are not worldly fleshly desires. You are right we do have a dual nature, but when we walk in the spirit we shall not fulfill the lusts of the flesh Gal 5:16. These are victorious words. These are words of hope and assurance that we will have Christ to fight our battles when we are in the Spirit. BUT he that commits sin is of the devil 1 John 3:8. God Bless you Jeff W |

31 | Will sin enter heaven? | Rev 21:17 | Jeff W | 140117
Hello, Yes we are all a work in progress. Sanctification is the work of a lifetime, but this does not mean that we cannot go without sinning for a time. 1 John 1:10 states that if we SAY we are without sin. Those who are sinless, or holy will be the last to admit it. But still this does not mean we will never be without sin. Jesus says 7 times in Revelation what glorious things are in store for the overcomer. We can be overcomers today, and we must be overcomers if we expect to be with God in heaven. I never stated that anyone will sin after death. What I am getting at is: if you die with unconfessed, unrepented sin in your life will you go to heaven, or will you have eternal life? This is the gospel. This is the most confused doctrine in all of Christianity. Satan wants us to believe that we will never stop sinning, and there are many, many professors of Christianity who argue that point. We are saved by grace, but how many "Christians" out there know what that means. Many don't even know what sin is. These are the most important issues in the life of a Christian. We are to make our calling and election sure by knowing that we know Him 1 John 2:3. God Bless you Jeff W |

Hello, I appreciate all the studies and commentaries that are out there, but I try to limit my studies to the Word of God only. Sure sometimes I might use strongs, or a bible dictionary, but I have skimmed through many commentaries, and foind that they are the easiest way to take our focus off the simplicity of the gospel as brought to us by oue Great Example Jesus. His simplicity is so profound that even a child can understand His Word. I don't condemn anyone for wanting to move along in their studies, but I would like to encourage all who use commentaries to be careful to not overwrite God's word with them. God Bless you Jeff W |

Hello My opinion of what the end times is, is the time right before the Lord comes to take us home. I cannot give any days or dates. But I do know, from studying the Word of God that we are in that time. God Bless you Jeff W |

Hello Again lets let Jesus answer this as we read the whole verse 29 which mentions the sun shall be darkened, the stars shall fall from heaven. . .then shall appear the Son of man in the clouds, all the tribes of the earth mourn. He sends His angels with a sound of a great trumpet. I will ask you: which tribulation is this. I believe there is only one tribulation and Jesus mentions it here. I take the words of Jesus seriously, and literally. Nowhere do I read about any othere tribulation periods. God Bless you Jeff W |

Hello CDBJ, I agree with you. The only way the gospel can be preached to all the world is by the power of the Holy Spirit. Look at all the televangelists. There are many out just for filthy lucre, but there are some that are sincerely preacheing the gospel of Jesus Christ in truth. Compare this effort with just on day of preaching on the day of pentecost, wow!!! Did the apostles have sattelite TV, or radio stations, or even a P.A. system? All our human efforts are nothing. Are we seeing many flocking to Christ today? I see many flocking to the churches, I'm not judging, but where is the primitive Godliness displayed by the apostles today? How many of us, me included, are willing to toatlly give our lives to Jesus and let Him pour out His Spirit with that kind of power? Yes Rev 14:6-12 is very pertinant for us today. What is an angel? An angel is a messenger. We are the three angels of Rev 14:6-12. Who else is going to preach the gospel. God could make apostles out of rocks, but with His infinite wisdom, and love He chose us to finish the job. We are not waiting on Him to come, He is waiting for us to finish the job, and until we give our WHOLE heart to Him I don't believe He will trust us with the pentecostal power. God Bless you Jeff W |

Hello There are signs of the times which are spelled out very clearly in Matthew 24. The most obvious is where Jesus tells us that the gospel will be preached and then the end shall come verse 14. In verse 3 the disciples ask Jesus when will be the end of the world. Jesus gives us many clues as to when the time of the end will be, or even when He is at the door. I believe we were given these clues so we can get moved by seeing these things coming to pass, and desire to warn others. False Christs are arising, wars and rumors of wars like never before. If you download "Operation Vampire Killer", written by Jack Mclamb a retired Arizona police officer, you will know how close we are to the time of great tribulation spoken of in verse 21. Hello, Contrary to popular belief the 70th week of Daniel 9:27 ended about 3.5 years after Jesus died. It states: "in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and oblation to cease". When Jesus died the sacrifice and oblation ceased. How can anyone take the last week of a 490 year prophecy which started in the 5th century b.c. and put it into the future? even with my own reasoning, which is nothing without the Holy Spirit, I can add time spans. The going forth of the command to restore and build Jerusalem was given by Artaxerxes around 450 b.c.and if you add 490 years onto that date you will come to right around the time Jesus was crucified. This is simple math. The commentaries, and footnotes in many study bibles are not inspired by God. Although they are sometimes good references. But, so many people rely on commentary that they don't study the Word of God for themselves and let the Holy Spirit reveal the truth. God Bless you Jeff W |
