41 | Searching for the truth | 1 Thess 4:17 | 4givn | 89517
Think "spiritually". Will Elijah die a spiritual death (the second death, the lake of fire)? Also, maybe God is not completely finished with him yet. Maybe he will be one of the two witnesses in Revelation and will in fact die a physical death. I am curious, what prompted this question?
42 | Why would God do that? | Gen 2:7 | 4givn | 89516
His thoughts are higher than our our thoughts. His ways are higher than our ways. We can not possibly begin to intellectualize why God would or would not do a certain thing based on our own finite minds and our limited perspective. We must be careful not to "judge" God for what He does. When we do not accept by faith ALL that He has said and done, then where do we draw the line for ANY of it? Do we then get to pick and choose?
43 | Is not God inside of each of us? | Bible general Archive 1 | 4givn | 89508
If by "us" you mean born-again believers, then "yes", God's Spirit does live within us. But the Lord said that not everyone who says to Him "Lord, Lord" will enter the kingdom of heaven. With that in mind, please consider Eph 2:2. Who is the "spirit" in this context? In other words, there will really be "tares" coming up with the wheat, and therefore since they are indistinguishable from the real thing, then not everyone in this forum will actually know God - some just think they do. Pray for them. In the meantime, try not to be critical and instead prayerfully ask the Lord how he wants us to interact within this forum. Try to remember we will be judged one day for every word and deed that we do.
44 | Sealed and then Resealed? | John | 4givn | 89135
Isn't it such a blessing to KNOW!!! Amen!!!
45 | ministry? | Heb 13:8 | 4givn | 89134
Is this forum a "mimistry" for you. I have been "drawn", I believe, to this site, and seeing your much activity I have to wonder myself if God is calling me to do likewise.
46 | What happens to our soul or spirit | 2 Corinthians | 4givn | 89132
"What about the story Jesus told about the poor man Lazarus and the rich man?" Was this allagorical? He said "there once was..."". It was a real story! How about 2 Cor 5:8, absent from the body, present with the Lord? |

47 | Explain John 15:6 | John | 4givn | 89129
The context of John 15 is about vines, branches, and bearing fruit, and gardening, and as such, is an analogy to the Lord Jesus Christ, believers, and God the Father. It has nothing to do with the status (security) of the believer. It has everything to do with the work that we as believers are called to do, and that is to "bear much fruit" (John 15:8). The reason we are called to do that is to glorify God (vs. 8). When we don't do that, we are "like" the salt in Mat. 5:13, Mark 9:50, Luke 14:34. We are still "salt", but what good are we? It is a classic tactic of the enemy (and Peter warns us to be aware of his tactics), to try to make people uncertain of their eternal destiny. Please read the book by Charles Stanley about the security of the believer. What we are talking about with folks that bring up such arguments are apples and oranges. They try to argue something that has to do with FELLOWSHIP and has nothing to do with SONSHIP. It is a "relational" thing, not one of "position". Read John 5:24, and focus on each word carefully. It is God's word. It says it all, really. Believe it! I am praying for you!
48 | Sealed and then Resealed? | John | 4givn | 89121
One can not be "unsealed". And while that is an excellent way of viewing the security of the believer, another way is to consider that we were "bought with a price". How can the thing that is "bought" become "not bought"? Or better yet, look at John 5:24. That pretty much says it all. Focus on the key words "hears", "believes", "has", "will not", "has crossed", and "life to death".
