41 | cast to earth as punishment? | Is 1:1 | G. Preston | 231501
Yes. Generally...it appears that Lucifer was G-d's...oh...executive vice-president(earthly term). Ego kicked in and he attempted the take over of the Great White Throne position(G-d's). He was defeated with the Bible saying..."his home was found in Heaven no more"....along with a part of his angels. There are many references which paint this picture. You may wish to go thru the Bible looking for all of them and the side benefit is that you will finish not only knowing all the Bible has to say about the topic but, will be learning much about scriptures over all. |

42 | When did Lucifer fall? | Is 1:1 | G. Preston | 231476
See Isaiah 14,12,1-32 Luke 10,18, Exekel 28, 13,14,15,16. Jude 6. If you are looking for a time frame when Lucifer and part of his angels were thrown down from Heaven I am not aware that the Bible gives us that. It appears that Lucifer is the only Angel that had his own group of angels assigned to him. It is interesting to note that Lucifer to earth as Satan never had his great powers removed ....just controlled. We see that in the book of Job when G-d contained Satans' level of power application as it would affect Job. |

43 | Plan for people who will never be saved? | NT general | G. Preston | 231466
Yes. G-d has a plan for those folks...it is called eternal damnation per the Bible. Each individual is offered eternal salvation based on rules clearly presented by G-d's word. If we do not follow the requirements we write ourselves off. |

44 | Will ALL of Israel be saved? | Revelation | G. Preston | 231324
There are Israeli(Hebrew) Christians which by definition believes and follows Christ.(As Hebrew...I am one) The contempory Israeli Jew does not believe that Christ was/is the Messiah. They believe He is yet to come...the first time. The Bible is clear...."no one comes to my Father but by Me(Christ)".....(Repentance,Baptism-acknowledging the shed blood of Christ-and living a righteous life). It is sad but, one must conclude that those Israelis will be lost. I hasten to point out that there are some Bible practitioners who believe (i.e John Hagee)that a special dispensation will be applied to the jew for salvation purposes. However, I am unable to find justification anywhere in scriptures and therefore respectfully cannot accept that teaching. But, like the thief on the cross...."he was forgiven"...at the last moment. Christ has that power to apply and His act of doing such would be righteous. Further, I must point out that a true Jew is a G-d fearing person and is devout in their Godly lifestyles and practices as defined by the Old Testament. May I ask...what is your stand on the question? |

45 | Seeing God? | Ex 33:20 | G. Preston | 230199
If you are a Christian you walk with God every day without seeing him. But, I attest to feeling His presence with the help he gives me.
46 | Film clips during service- appropriate?? | 2 Tim 3:16 | G. Preston | 230134
Your concerns are worthy. We devote time for service to God and all else must be forsaken during that time/process. Using supportive scripture clips for a message should be appropriate for illustration purposes and are effective to make a point. I use them in sunday school teachings. I also have concerns of some congregations' infusion of entertainment efforts during service. I just don't participate in such. |

A generic/symbolic reference to speak.
48 | Is it o.k. to drink a glass of wine? | Eph 5:1 | G. Preston | 230132
The Bible does not prohibit a glass of wine. But,not to drunkedness and not if you are a leader in the Church, then the answer is no. Don't interpret that to mean a hard drink, that is prohibited. There are other references. |

49 | how do iknow if jesus is calling me | 1 Cor 7:9 | G. Preston | 196079
One should be guided by scripture; Matt 19:12 "For there are eunuchs who were born that way from their mother's womb; and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men; and there are also eunuchs who made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. He who is able to accept this, let him accept it." 1 Cor 7:9 But if they do not have self-control, let them marry; for it is better to marry than to burn with passion. 1 Thess 4:3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification; that is, that you abstain from sexual immorality; |

51 | Is fingering before marriage a sin? | 1 Thess 4:3 | G. Preston | 196075
Scripture teaches us to avoid temptation. There are many references in the Bible of the effect upon us. Here are a few references which provide guidance in understanding and dealing with temptation; James 1:13 Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone. Matt 26:41 "Keep watching and praying that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak." Luke 22:40 When He arrived at the place, He said to them, "Pray that you may not enter into temptation." Luke 8:13 "Those on the rocky soil are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no firm root; they believe for a while, and in time of temptation fall away. Luke 22:46 and said to them, "Why are you sleeping? Get up and pray that you may not enter into temptation." The Bible teaches restraint. Knowing we will be tempted, study scriptures, pray and pray again. |

53 | Is the Jews are the elect people of God | Rom 10:12 | G. Preston | 195642
Suggest ID #s 1826 and 2970..they have good writings. Enter under ...search...upper right. Proper guidance is not available from Hagee on this one,IMHO. But, suggest we MUST NOT be confused between the Jew of the time of the old covenant and the Jew of today, under the new covenant with Jesus Christ. That is not distinguished in your question. |

54 | are there errors in the bible? | Bible general Archive 4 | G. Preston | 195466
Brenda, The only "errors" I have seen in the Bible..KJV..are errors in translation. Those are not to be construed as errors in what G-d is presenting us as a road map for eternal salvation. As with any human touched process there will be errors. The 66 books of the Bible were written by 40 some authors... man... over several centuries, in different languages, then translated from those language(s)to english with errors in translation. There are several examples, such as; The Greek word PNUEMA,which means spirit, was improperly translated to Ghost. So we have Holy Ghost used in Scriptures. Properly, it is Holy Spirit. While it should be the goal of each person to know all scripture, we should not loose sight of plain and clear Bible teachings of the three things we must know and accept for eternal salvation; 1)Repentance 2)Baptism 3)Then we must live a righteous life according to G-ds' commandments. It is often said that those are presented in the Bible in a manner that a ten year old can understand. You may wish to do a general search using "Errors in the Bible"...and you will have no problem in having material to read on the subject. A WORD OF CAUTION....validate before you accept findings. |

56 | Polygamy | Eph 5:22 | G. Preston | 195383
Jon, Sin is detestable in G-d's eyes and not "permitted". Substituting the word "permit" with the word "tolerate",will allow me to say, perhaps, but, only to a point. Scripture strongly indicates, He will react to it. We must be careful of embracing His forgiveness and then charging Him with permitting (as in... with permission) sin to occur. Practices under the old covenant are addressed by example with scripture, thusly; KJV (concerning divorce)Matt 19;8, "He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so". Scripture gives us many examples of how to live our lives. The above scripture is not contraindicated as applied to polygamy. Therefore, I do not believe G-d endorsed or ..."winked"..at the practice.(.."one of those things He winked at"..!!!) What other items might you be referring? I do not believe nor am I aware that scripture suggests G-d has an ..."imperfect" will. |

57 | Are we all descendants of Adam and Eve? | Genesis | G. Preston | 194970
I believe G-d created more first humans than Adam and Eve. They were examples. A symbol..if you will. It would be consistent with the Bible using symbols in many other instances. If you reject that or similar common sense finding then you must be prepared to answer the following; Did G-d allow Adam and Eve to commit incest in order to populate the earth? Which the Bible deplores. Who were the sons' wifes? If you are successful in answering those..I have several more which must be addressed. For Christ, Preston |

58 | Christians living together outside of ma | 1 Corinthians | G. Preston | 194969
The marriage cermony is in itself an act of a type of repentance...from living in sin. G-d forgives..shouldn't we? Scripture teaches to repent and go and sin no more. It also teaches to forgive or G-d will not forgive us of our sins. |
||||||
59 | Can a christian go to hell? | 1 Corinthians | G. Preston | 194957
No. The operative word is "Christian". I will conclude you are using the word to refer to someone who was a Christian and has fallen away. The answer is "Yes". But, he is not a Christian. This lends itself to the belief by some that..."once saved always saved". A misunderstanding of scripture. To accept that doctrine requires one to set aside the "unforgiveable sin". Which can't be done. Your scripture reference lends itself to the teaching that..."not by works alone"..shall we receive eternal salvation. |

60 | Differing views to questions ? | 1 Cor 14:33 | G. Preston | 194954
Jon, An age old (some would call)conondrum. But, I see it as part of G-d's plan. G-d commands that we serve Him in all ways including reading and studying His word. What better way than to have scripture presented thru man in the manner it is, guided by G-d to foster study, debate, discussions, analysis and start all over again. A life long commitment. Therefore, we are to; Pray for guidance. Study scriptures...and study them again. Study all writings available. Discuss meanings of scriptures. To assist in studies I apply the following three rules; 1)Take the Bible literaly where it is at all possible. If typical, figurative or symbolic language is used then look for literal interpretation it intends to convey. 2)Look for scripture which interprets scripture. 3)Do not spiritualize the Bible. We are each assigned the responsibility to reach our own conclusions. There are two scripture references I keep in mind as I pursue studies; 1)..."some things are reserved for Go-d's knowledge only".(Be reminded that... "not even Christ, nor the Angels in Heaven, but, our Father only knows the day and hour of the second coming/advent"....). 2)..."it will be revealed in due course"...based on the covictions of the heart and as the mind is capable of handling the information. One further thought; There are only three things we must know and do to receive eternal salvation; 1)We must repent; 2)We must be baptized and 3)We must live a life according to G-d"s law..the ten commandments. A life of righteousness. (Yes,earning of the five Crowns is greatly indicated. and item three gives us those Crowns). So while we are to pursue understanding in order to properly witness for Christ, we should not get hung up or allow ourselves to wane in our depth of faith when an answer is not immediately clear. For Christ, Preston |
