361 | Searching for the truth | 1 Thess 4:17 | GeorJoy | 89779
Was it Ignorance, or stupidity on my part? Am I confused, or perhaps careless? Perhaps a little of each. What do you think? I just realized what you were refering to. George |

362 | Searching for the truth | 1 Thess 4:17 | GeorJoy | 89776
A M E N!!! Oh, that we were all of such a Spirit as this. I challenge ALL who read this post to exort one another to humility. Particularily me, for I am cursed with a lack of the same. I thank God, for he has enabled me to control my spirit of immaturity in humility herein. PLEASE. Let's all pray for such a STRONG SPIRIT of HUMILITY, wisdom and discernment on this sight that it will attract all who stumbel hereon. In JESUS' Name Amen George |

Schmythe I tend to agree with the latter portion of your post rather than the first. As you said. We can only speculate as to the witness, HOWEVER, "ALL HAVE SINED AND COME SHORT OF THE GLORY OG GOD." this blows your first thought out of the water. Our Savior was "without blemish;" PERFECT. As was posted in not so many words in this thread earlier (I think it was EdB. Please, someone correct me if I am wrong,) Who is to say that that Enoch and Elijah's deaths weren't simply delayed? As, the Lord had more for those two (nearly perfect) saints to complete. George |

364 | Searching for the truth | 1 Thess 4:17 | GeorJoy | 89773
I thought my answer was SIMPLE... What more can one say? Could you not discern the truth from what I wrote? HE did not make an exception. Your answer is "NO...." No... Now that you have your answer, re-read my post and you will know why your answer is "no." If anyone gives you a "Yes." It is not biblical. Please forgive my bluntness. There is no malice intended. 365 | Why would God do that? | Gen 2:7 | GeorJoy | 89772
You are correct. "Hell was not originally created for man." So says the word. It was intended for Satan and his rebellious angelic followers. Which would you consider worse; a rebellious angel, or an individual who continues to rebell by not accepting the word of the King, (and, or) the fact that He sent his ONLY Son to pay the price for our evil deeds? We are all siners! Anyone who says he is not, is a LIAR AND THE TRUTH IS NOT IN HIM! He only decieves himself. We are saved by the GRACE of God, and that is by nothing we have in any way earned. For ALL HAVE SINED AND COME SHORT OF THR GLORY OF GOD. In this complicated environment in which we live, some simply can not comprehend the utter simplicity of salvation. What difference does it make what one believes? NONE!!!! As long as one believes in what I just stated; knows and admits in his heart that he is desirving of death and eternal damnation and confess', and asks for forgiveness; he or she "IS SAVED." However, as some would have you to think, this is not all there is to it .... Christian life is not as easy as one might hope. It was never said that it would be. It was said though that the old man would be passed away and all things would become new. "BY THE RENEWING OF THE MIND." This is not something that just happens! One must Live the Life once saved. Read Pauls letter to the Galations. Then read it a second time. It's a short book. He had preached the Gospel to them, but there were those who wanted to add to that Gospel. Find out what he said about those who wanted to add to what he had said. George |

366 | Why would God do that? | Gen 2:7 | GeorJoy | 89766
In most cases, this one included, I would have to say that," often he who it (hurts) the most, feels the guiltiest, or (understands) the least, yells the loudest." George |

367 | Why would God do that? | Gen 2:7 | GeorJoy | 89672
And there are those of which wouldn't know the truth if it hit them in the face. Others whose time is not yet. This is no cause for disagreement. I see no mystery in what was said. My response was biblically correct. If it is not ones time, let him disagree. That does not make it untrue. George |

Searching333, Keep on Searching. You are Gods Word proven and come to life. Ask and ye SHALL recieve, "Seek and ye SHALL FIND." I learned early in life that the only dumb question is the one that was not asked. To date, I don't get all my answers either. I often have to simply "go on faith." And, that AIN'T ALWAYS SO SIMPLE. Yet it IS so simple! I complicate my life by not accepting that simple fact... I once read that "if understanding came b4 acceptance, there would be very little that we would accept." Ponder that. Once one has accepted that fact, he has entered the doorway to wisdom and understanding. It is funny though, that if my question is a sincere one, eventually the Lord gives me the answer. Sometimes it's the next time I turn on the radio. Others it is through hard work and study, which gives me a hollow satisfaction, still it is satisfaction. I am most satisfied when He "proves" to me that He knows and provides for me. Am I silly, foolish, lazy, or just just overjoyed that He has even the slightest interest in one such as myself??? I pondered your question in the form of "pre-destination" for 30 years or more. I only reciently ran across the answer. And I wasn't even looking for it! God bless George |

4givin, That is a GOOD thought. Something to ponder. If you are familiar with the "Left Behind" series, (which I think is biblically based and written by a Blessed author, Tim LaHaye," I may be wrong, but I think Tim may have depicted your thought therein. George |

370 | Searching for the truth | 1 Thess 4:17 | GeorJoy | 89659
The dead in Christ shall rise first. Anyone claiming any other gospel is a false prophit. However... This has nothing to do with your original question, which was: "According to the Bible, the penality for sin is death. Therefore, every human being must die! Did God make an exception for Elijah to escape death? Your comments, please." --- If you are seriously asking a question, I have given you the biblical answer, which was; "Death of the body is not what this scripture refers to. If it were, once you died, the penalty for your sins would be paid. The death the scripture refers to here is "Eternal Damnation in the lake of fire." If I am not badly mistaken, this is also referred to as the second death." --- What you have just stated was totally out of context with your original question. Since it has already been answered, any further discussion on this particular question would be senseless. God Bless George |

371 | "fear of finding truth"? | Rom 14:12 | GeorJoy | 89655
Ok. I hadn't thought of it that way. And I hadn't read between Eds lines (at least, that's the phrase I like use.) Sort of puts me in mind of the term "Scaired Stupid." Why do such words as stupid and ignorant always put people, even Christians on the defense? Even when such words aren't directed at them? Ignorance is not an excuse, but who is not ignorant to one degree or another concerning one or another matter? Stupidity is a different story though. In my humble opinion, it is one who was born with the handicap or simply loves ignorance. George |

OK... LORD HAVE MERCY! Including my responces to the responders. I have counted 42 responses to my original question. Has anyone noticed that in the end, each of us have said the same thing. Even though we may not realize or admit it? Lets all agree to disagree. In the end, we all seem to agree anyway. I think this thread has come to the end of it's usefulness. Unless I have misread something somewhere, to the person we have all said the same things, only in diverse ways... George |

373 | Are we Stupid or Lazy? Our Soul at stak | Rom 14:12 | GeorJoy | 89647
Ed I'm a Household Appliance repair Techcition by trade. I have had a business of my own in the Lakeland - Plant City area for nearly 10 years now. I am in the process of closing my business currently and have prospects of servicing the Tampa Bay Area again. With the irons I currently have in the fire, I'm not sure what I will do. Look me up in the phone book. My business is listed under "Appliances" as Professional Appliance Repair in PC and Lkl. I don't have a Tampa add currently, (The costs are devistating,) but I do have big adds in Plant City and Lakeland. Thechically I live in H'boro County, but I have a Polk Co address cuz I'm in an ares that was originally addressed in Polk even though it is in H'bo. If you get my ans mach, leave a msg and I will return your call as promptly as possiable. It's odd but somehow I felt that you were in my area, in more than one aspect. George |

If the responders to this thread are representative of the general population of this sight, I sure do wish I'd have found it long ago... I'd like to know if anyone is from the Lakeland, Florida area. I would sure like to meet and fellowship with some of you. I feel as though I have discovered a Gold mine. George |

Don't stop! Preach it, Pastor! Keep it coming. Don't sotp now that you're just getting some traction! Say something about what God hates; something about the proud; something about the meaning of true faith and how to get it... George |

378 | Why would God do that? | Gen 2:7 | GeorJoy | 89523
He wasn't attacking you. He was discribing "Man" in general. All the answers ARE in The book. If one sincerely desires them, they will find them. If one is looking for what they will accept as an answer, they will likely not find it. George |

IT IS NOT HIS WILL THAT ANYONE SHOULD PERRISH. (GNB) Jer 18:5 Then the LORD said to me, 6 "Don't I have the right to do with you people of Israel what the potter did with the clay? You are in my hands just like clay in the potter's hands. Isa 29:16 They turn everything upside down. Which is more important, the potter or the clay? Can something you have made say, "You didn't make me"? Or can it say, "You don't know what you are doing"? YOU HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO ASK. Isa 45:9 Does a clay pot dare argue with its maker, a pot that is like all the others? Does the clay ask the potter what he is doing? Does the pot complain that its maker has no skill? However, finding the answer you desire may more be a little difficult. I reciently read in a good commentary, the clossest thing I have ever seen to being a good answer to your question. The only problem is that I can't remember what topic I was researching or which commentary ity was. I think it may have been predestination that I was researching. This topic concerns me as much as yours does you. In actuality, they are one in the same. HERE IS YOUR ANSWER... Whether or not you can or will accept it is up to you. GOD KNEW BEFORE HE CREATED THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH THAT YOU AND I WOULD BE RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW, DOING JUST WHAT WE ARE DOING AT THIS VERY MOMENT. LIKEWISE HE KNEW WHAT YOUR DECISION AND MINE WOULD BE AS TO THE ACCEPTANCE OF HIS SON AND HIS WORD. DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR DECISION IS GOING TO BE? If you don't. I would suggest you figure it out. For no one can do it for you... I pray you will understand what has been given me to give you. If you don't, perhaps your time is not yet. Don't let it worry you. Continue your search. Continue to pray. Continue to ask. For our Lord has appointed a time for EVERYTHING. Even ones salvation. IT IS NOT HIS WILL THAT ANYONE SHOULD PERRISH. Praise His loving name! George |
