381 | one pc of silver/one talbet | Matt 26:15 | GeorJoy | 89513
I don't recall the denomination of the pieces of silver ever having been mentioned, but depending on what they may have been, each was worth about 5 weeks of wages or more. If my math is correct, it would total about 3 years wages. I wonder what he is thinking about those wages right now. Judas'betrayal was part of the devine plan. The Lord knew before creation what Judas would do. Still, my carnal mind can not comprehend how, having known, been taught by and in the very presence of our Lord, Judas could have carried it out. The love of money is the root of all evil! How can anyone today not see this truth!?!?! Seeing, they do not see.... George |

382 | Why would God do that? | Gen 2:7 | GeorJoy | 89512
Let me answer your question with a question or two. (1) Why would a person plant a garden, knowing that there are going to be weeds in it? (2) If automobiloes could speak, would a Model A have had the right to ask Henry ford, "With all my imperfections, you know I'm going to end up in the junk yard, why have you created me? or why didn't you create me with air conditioning, an AM/FM sterio CD player and plush interior? You knew they would all be invented." "I am the potter. You are the clay." George |

383 | Are we Stupid or Lazy? Our Soul at stak | Rom 14:12 | GeorJoy | 89510
Thanks Hank Without a doubt, we are headed in the same direction. Some get to their destination by walking, others run, still others may go by bicycle, car, plane or train. (I want a big BUS, so I can take as many with me as I can. I want them on the fenders, the roof and hood.) Though our means may differ, our goal is the same. When Christian paths collide, maturity in Christ will clear the traffic jam. Having originated this post, I have truly learned a lesson. Although I would never intentionally point a finger at anyone (Mat 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged. :2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged ,) I often have a hard time conveying the knowledge and messages I have gleaned without stepping on toes and appearing overly authoritative. However, I contend that my authority is the WORD OF GOD. I am not the originator. I am simply a messenger. I will not take from or add to what the originator has sent. And… On top of this thorn, I tend to talk in parables. I once considered these two traits as faults, or thorns. I am no longer sure that they are either. As I quoted somewhere in this thread, I once read, “a parable shows the (spiritual) responsiveness of the hearer.) This saying has helped me greatly. God Bless you and yours George |

384 | Are we Stupid or Lazy? Our Soul at stak | Rom 14:12 | GeorJoy | 89507
Prasie The Lord! Hank, I'd have to say that this statement proves without a doubt which side of the fine line between judgement and discernment you are on. However, you may now be open to being branded judgemental and degrading the need and usefulness of seminaries. THanks for your comment, and God Bless George |

385 | "fear of finding truth"? | Rom 14:12 | GeorJoy | 89506
Gracefull, I'm an ignorant person who happens to be a christian. Will you please clarify your statement? Where, other than "fear of finding truth" does fear fit into this topic? |

386 | Putting 2 and 2 together | Rom 14:12 | GeorJoy | 89504
Ed "or a reprobate mine." Perhaps you should change your screen name to one a little more discriptive of your gift. Once again, you have touched on one of the points of my original post. For some reason, I hear a little voice within saying that there are those who will read these posts who will say; "Are these guys crazy!? What are they talking about!?" Already there is a spirit of argument herein, who would argue, yet in its arguing it says precisely what it argues against. "Those who see (or read,) but do not see." "Those who hear (or read,) but do not hear." George |

Thanks for the info Ed I'm just starting to get used to the forum, and I must say, it is more than a little confising. Or perhaps I'm just getting old (which I am proud of, cuz everyone don't have that opporitunity.) Ed, concerning your metting with the room full of pastors; am I so wrong when it makes me seeth with anger when I hear of such atrocious words coming from the mouth someone, in particular a man of God, (I want to say "a (So called) man of God,) one who is intrusted with His living word? 389 | How important is self esteem? | Ezek 16:44 | GeorJoy | 89437
There is quite a bit in the New Testiment as well. (KJV) Rom 14:22 Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth. Mat 22:36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." If one has no self esteem, it is doubtfull he could love himself. Where would this leave him where the "second great commandment" is concerned? George |

390 | You took a wrong turn somewhere.. | Rom 14:12 | GeorJoy | 89434
Justme I just finished reading your user info. I admire and applaud your activity. My prayers will be with you and yours concerning your ailment and your ministries. I pray our Lord judges you more mercifully than you have me. By the way, I haven't CALLED Christians or anyone else stupid or lazy herein. I challenge you or anyone else to prove otherwise. If I did, its here with my signature. If not... Well I wouldn't expect an appology. Just a brotherly Thank you would be more than expected. In case it evaded your notice, I only asked the question "Are you stupid?" and "Or are you simply Lazy?" I labeled the post "Are we Stupid or Lazy? Our Soul at stake," and in my response to MotherSuperior, I corrected the "yous" with "we's. I should wonder why my post would hurt anyone quiet so bad as it has yourself. Your insistance on continuing your arguing is defeating the purpose. With all due respect to you and your thoughts, my answers to your accusations and insinuations will thus be herewith ceased, May God bless, protect, watch over and be with you and yours. Respectfully George |

What can I say? I made no assunptions. Only an observance which is not unique to this or any other forum. You assume that you have read what you have not read. Have you re-read as I suggested? God Bless George |

392 | Are we Stupid or Lazy? Our Soul at stak | Rom 14:12 | GeorJoy | 89429
Thanks for your input Hank. So true. So true. ------ Where the Word is concerned, NOT "Doing oneselves an injustice" is just my point. ------ But if one refuses the initiative; other than hearing the originator, he is as likely as not to get a watered down or poluted version. J. Vernon McGee once said that "it is all right for one to graze in others pastures, but one should always give his own milk." I hope we're on the same track. George |

393 | With knowledge comes pain and responsibt | Rom 14:12 | GeorJoy | 89426
I once read, "You can buy books, but you can't buy brains." I would add, "you can pay for and earn a degree, but intelligence is free." Unfortunantly if it dosen't come with a price tag, most people overlook it today. Yet, if there is a price to pay, they don't want to pay the price. If I interpriate your comment correctly, I believe we both agree that it would be best to stear clear of the Seminary, or in the very least, to be prayerful and wisely discerning. It seems to me that the worlds history in my lifetime has already been recorded in the New testiment. Doesn't it you? I'm so thankfull that our Lord has blessed so many with the knowledge of what a Pharisee really is. That they would pass their knowledge on without fear of shame and rebuke; that they would feed the flock with the PURE bread and teach them to fish for themselves, is my prayer. George |

394 | Are we Stupid or Lazy? Our Soul at stak | Rom 14:12 | GeorJoy | 89418
This is MEAT and NOT intended for those on milk. Is not sin a "human nature thing?" Does not man create the culture around him? As for those who "will not seek truth for themselves," I have only pity, and would shake the dust from my feet where they are concerned. As for the many who have not; They have not because they ask not; They ask not because of either Stupidity, Lazyness or Ignorance; All of which can be overcome, and none of which will be excusable in the day of judgement. Is it not the adults place to properly train up the children? If one is more concerned with the feelings of others and "Political correctness" than presenting the word in its virgin form, .... All I can say is that one can't please Man AND God. One has to choose to please one or the other. George |

395 | You took a wrong turn somewhere.. | Rom 14:12 | GeorJoy | 89415
Justme I believe you may have missed the road all together. Somewhere in your having read this thread, you have missed or misread the roadsigns, and gotten onto a different route all together. Re-read EdB's first response. Then re-read "HERE IS THE ANSWER TO MY QUESTION" in my response to Mother Superior. I made a "note" somewhere in this thread. Re-read that one too. I once read that a parable tests the "spiritual receptiveness" of the hearer. (I intend no offence to anyone.) As of this morning when I last checked, EdB has been the only receptive responder to this thread. George |

396 | Putting 2 and 2 together | Rom 14:12 | GeorJoy | 89411
It's almost funny. My carnal desire is to say "yea, I know that." But the truth of the matter is that I didn't. Even though I did have all the facts. I simply hadn't put them together as you did. Thank you my friend. George |

397 | Judgement or Discernment? | Rom 14:12 | GeorJoy | 89350
I know that our Lord foretold of those of whom you speak. That seeing, they would not see and hearing, they would not hear. My heart is so heavy for them, but they will not listen. Time and time Israel forsook God. Time and time again, they repented. Time and time again, God forgave them. So it is today. But time is not on our side. We, the individual are not as the generations of a Nation. As a flower withers, so do we. As a raging fire through a forest hardens an old tree stump each time it passes, so does the word of God to our heart each time it passes through unaccepted. Thanks EdB George |

So true. Thank you EdB. It is refreshing to see that there is at least one who has responded thus far who is "spiritually receptive." Namely yourself. I would add that when people don't like the answer one gives, not only do they accuse you, but they continue to ask till they receive the answer they desire, whis is more often than not, contrary to the word of God. LORD HAVE MERCY on them, and giver of the "desired" answer... For even though they may have recieved instructions contrary to Gods word, THEY WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. But much more so will the giver. " But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.Mat 18:6 George |
