321 | king james 1960 version | John 3:36 | azurelaw | 227484
Dear josietrevino, Kindly note that the forum is not intended for debates. It is designed for Bible study instead. Please see the below TOU for reference. * Do not push your denominational bias or engage in debates. Concerning your question, it is not about whether it's worth or not to be a Christian. We become a Christian because of God's love and grace that He works first in our heart to obey him. Read John 3:16-36. We are sinners always under God's wrath. We are condemned already, we are on our way to hell and can never escape from His wrath except by His perfectly designed salvation through Christ our Lord and Saviour alone. It's a matter about eternal life or eternal death, a matter about a rebellious creature being reconciled to his Creator by the grace of God. In considering the eternal state of sinners in front of an infinite God, how would you consider being a Christian or an unbelieve? Shalom Azure |

Dear James, Yes, I believe so. The word "Paradise" (Greek: 3857 paradeisos) in Luke 23:43 appears 3 times in the NT (Luke 23:43, 2 Cor 12:4, Rev 2:7). Shalom Azure |

329 | What is the meanining of Beatitudes? | Matt 5:1 | azurelaw | 227182
Dear Gracy, Welcome to the forum. Here is what Charles Biggs' commented regarding the Beatitudes... *quote* The 'Beatitudes' are simply what those who have been gripped by the grace of the Lord Jesus and have been saved by his precious blood will begin to look like. In other words, the 'Beatitudes' are the characteristics of Christ-likeness that will gradually be manifested in the believer's life. The 'Beatitudes' are, if you will, "Attitudes of Gratitude" for the work that Christ has already begun in us, and knowing that this work will continue until the Day when Christ returns for us (Phil. 1:6). *unquote* Shalom Azure |

334 | Question about Matt 8:34 | Matt 8:34 | azurelaw | 227077
Dear Laquita, Welcome to the forum. The answer lies in V33 where you may see that the swine herd was a property of someone lived in Gadarenes (a gentile city). We may surmise that seeing the destruction of his property (the swines) by Jesus, the owner and the people there did not want Him to further cause them troubles. They most likely did not concern who Jesus is but their own properties. I hope this helps. Shalom Azure |

336 | questions on Numbers 5 | Num 5:5 | azurelaw | 227008
Questions on Numbers 5:5-8 Chapters 1 through 4 described numbers of Israelite army and the preist tribe (Levi) and their responsibilities in taking care of the Tabernacle. When I get to chapter 5, the flow looks pretty strange that it seems not belonging there especially v5-8. (V11-31 could be understandable there since I surmise that it is in consideration of future battles that the Israelite men face that they might need to leave their wives behind when going to the battle field thus leaving the opportunity for the unfaithful wives disloyalty) In V5, what does it mean by "commits any of the sins of mankind, acting unfaithfully against the LORD" If that sin was an act unfaithful against the Lord, then why that restitution be made to the one whom wronged? and why to the relative in V8? From the penalty described, it looks like a civil law issue, if so, this passage is rather odd to be appeared in this chapter while the preceding and succeeding ones are describing other different things. Your help is much appreciated. Shalom Azure |

338 | The gift of tongues | Eph 1:1 | azurelaw | 226705
Dear Crys, Base on what you have said and the excellent answers to you from both Brad and Beja, I couldn't help but urge you to consider what Beja suggested "...to flee this church and go to a sounder more scriptural church...". It is not only what your pastor teaches is not biblical, but also his attitude ("... He totally blasted me out of the water and said no way") toward your loving heart to speak to him in private for clarification on his teaching. This proves that he does not deal with God's Word faithfully or tend His flock properly, furthermore, he appears to be arrogant. Shalom Azure |
