321 | Thanks to God? | Ps 30:12 | justme | 85249
Ray: I thank God every time I see you have writen a note or question. I appreciate the update on your health you put in your profile. I have found great comfort in Psalm 139, Romans 8, and 2 Corinthians 12. I was told last Friday I have the same cancer as you. I am not a canadate for surgery, due to my poor health, too many risks. So I start radition next week. My Pastor and Elders prayed and anointed me last might. All I pray for is to be on the Lords direct will for my life. With that I am just wher he wants me to be. Now brother Ray we can pray for each other with deeper empathy. I too feel pretty good considering, and find it easy to forget the seriousness of it all. I am allowing the Lord to make me weak so His striength shows through me. Blessings my dear brother Ray. justme |

324 | The Sovereignty of God | Ps 103:19 | justme | 124775
Hank: I am not sure that the sovereignty of God is not being taught or preached. I realy have not much to judge this by. Our Pastor does teach this and other pastors before him as well. I personally would not go to a church that did not teach a complete theology of the Bible. Perhaps if more Christians either made a strong imput to their pastor about this it would help. Perhaps when pastors are told this, and no change is made, it's time to go where the complete Word is taught. Any thoughts? Justme |

326 | Was Jesus ever separated from God? | Ps 139:1 | justme | 170452
Bereanian: Can the Holy Father turn His back on Hinself? Psalm 139 gives the depth of how far His sight, preknowledge, and knowing our thoughts, and intentions are. The Father never let His one and only Son out of His sight or alone. Jesus did not become sin, He bore the price for our sin, thus He was the perfect Lamb, shed His sinless blood to redeem us. If Jesus became sin then His blood would have been unworthy. Does this help? Justme |

salasnchrist: Welcome to the Study Bible Forum! God knows what and who we will be, before we are born. But we do not exist until conception. May I suggest you read Psalm 139 as it is perhaps the most detailed explimation of our life I can think of. The doctrin of existing before is that of the Morman Cult. You are wise to check out any Doctrine with your Pastor or this Biblical based Christian web site. There are many cults, such as the Mormans, and they man seem like a wonderful loving people, and they may use the Bible, but they either add or take away to Scripture. Blessings justme |

331 | Is it true? | Prov 3:5 | justme | 107790
Axen7z4: Friend. I have visited several Christian Forums. May I suggest that there is a Forum for just about every sort of Christian theological opinion you can imagine. With five hundred pluss postings you have seen enough to know is theological and Biblicaly sound. I have read some things that were so wrong I wanted to land bast them. That will accomplish nothing. I have found no fault with Lockman or their desires for us to abide by. I have observed that there are some who seem to not have any other life but this forum, at least it appears so. I wonder if perhaps you might be spending so much time on the forum that your real ministry is being neglected. I don't know, I am only trying to suggest some things. Everyone on this forum is well shielded from anyone knowing the way we really are. Anyone can say they have what ever degree they so chose. Why I could say I written many books for instance. I have not of course, my English shows that. I personally have little patients for the Word of Faith Movement. I have learned justr to avoid dialogue about WOF. I find those who do not accept the Trinity extremely hard to understand or to dialogue with. I make it a practice not to get involved with some who are so in opposition to my beliefs. I do this out of respect, and kindness, and to not waste my time. Perhaps you might think about what I've said, and if you can use any of it fime, if not at least you know I cared enough to make a suggestion. I mean no criticism at all. Blessings. justme |

333 | What about other death punishments? | Prov 6:16 | justme | 142201
nelson9770: I read the other responses, and felt something was missing, perhaps I might interject something that could add to the dialogue. You bring up an excellent point, in that there seems to be favorite "sins" we rightous Christians tend to elevate to the status of almost unforgivable, at least as most see it. The number one sin is homosexuality, abortion, and divorce. I do not make light of the magnitude of these sins, but we neglect to see the suffering souls living with these sins. We do often forget that Scripture tells us that greed, drunkedness, hatered, and the serious sins you listed, are not to be named in Christians. There are those who feel their sin is no where near as bad as the person who is involved with the sin they see in someone else. Remember what Jesus said about picking the splinter out of soneone elses eye when we have a log in our own eye? One thing you need to be aware of, that the other list of sins you mention people most generally do their best to hide their sin, and sone of the sins mentioned are punishable by the laws of our land. I believe Romans chapter 1 gives a better progression of the road into homosexuality. This is a group of people who flaunt their sin in the open, and try to seek others to join in their sin. Children are enticed by these homosexuals. This puts a clearer light on why homosexuality is easier to single out. When a group like the gay movement openly demonstrate in the public arena, this is the huge difference in take for example child molesters, or those in incest, adultery, and so on and so forth. Usually there is something behind the person who askes a question with such seriousness, when it's right off from the from start they join into the Forum dialogue. I have no idea if you know someone who is being singled out and belittled because they are gay, or if perhaps you are struggling because with this personally. I do know the only hope is for the person to come to Jesus Christ just as they are, confessing they are a sinner, and ask Jesus to save them. The road will not be easy, but whoever this person is they will not be the only one to have made the choice to follow Jesus. Nelson, what do you think? Does any of this make things easier to understand now? Look to hear from you. Blessings. justme |

334 | 18 yr old son seeing 27 yr old - HELP!! | Prov 7:6 | justme | 85595
EyOADove: This is a problem that you need your Pastors help with. If this were your daughter who was 18 and it was a man with a child and he was 27 what would you do? If he lives under your roof he either abides by the house rules or there are consequences! He is 18 and by now he pretty much sets his own mind on what he can do. Have you gone and talked with this woman? I sympathize with you, and this is not a healthy relationship for sure. I kind of wonder if this is not a sexual thing he believes like the movies teach sex brings love. I hope it has not gone that far, but odds are it has. I would not take much time to bring this to some clear understanding. At 18 he is pretty much legally able to do as he wishes. Get some pastoral involvement to help him listen, because he most likely is not listening to you. justem |

336 | We shouldn't be in the military? | Eccl 3:8 | justme | 139667
He-Man: I am a 100 percent diabled vet. I have read the notes sent back and forth, and felt it was my time to speak up. I am of the opinion if older men had to fight on the front lines war might not be so appealing, and would end much sooner. I consider war evil. Killing a and damaging children, women, and men may seem exciting in the movies, and war stories are exciting only in the make believe pretend land of some writers imagination. There is a debt we owe to our country, and I for one believe every male needs to give his country some of his time to repay the price we have for freedom. For those who feel actual fighting or involvement in combat is wrong, there is and has been optional service areas, but yet serving their country. Medics, store keepers, food handlers, are just but a few positions that one can serve if they object to combat. There is little excuse to not serve one's country in my way of thinking. However, I do see on PBS many young boys that have given their lives in Iraq. My heart gasps for the families of these service men and women killed or wounded. I can only imagine the pain of losing a child, or a father or mother in war. To me this is a tragic cost of war. Romans 14:22 is a verse I keep in mind, that I need to be careful in what I approve, as what I approve of can turn around and ruin my testimony. The war in Iraq is not a simple solution to age old battles of godless religions. I am concerned that the motives for going to war with Iraq are reasonable questionable. There is reason to question the money making ethic of some political leaders who had or have an interest in companies doing business with the Military in Iraq. These are situations that a thinking Christian must be prepared to consider if defending the war in Iraq. For me it was enough to say over 100,000 mainly children were being killed for the lack of food that was caused by greedy people keeping the money from Food for Oil. This is reason enough to go in and remove the evil government of Iraq. There was no need to lie to the US about W.M.D.s. I respect those who bring to light lies that have been told, but I believe we are to be there to help the poor and mistreared of Iraq. Any thoughts? justme |

337 | isaiah 65:20 ? | Isaiah | justme | 55638
Strongfellow: You picked a real challange with this verse! I went to every Commentary set I have, which is about 6. I read any thing in any of the Study Bibles I had. I found only ONE help. Keil-Delitzsch Old Testament Commentary Volume 7 page 489 to 491. The hard part was remembering what the roman numerals stood for in Chapters for you information it is Chapter LXV. verse XX. "The reference there is to the ultimate destruction of the power of death; here it is merely to the limitation of its power." That my Strongfellow is it in a nutshell. Not much for the effort, I am sorry. If this helps I will be suprised, but It is my best try. agape, justme |

338 | Is the Noahic covenant still in force? | Isaiah | justme | 122936
Moby Dick: Good question. Before Noah's time the earth had not experienced rain. The earth was in a canopy that kept moisture like a big sparklets water bottle, in which you plant and put soil and water then put a seal in the opening. These conditions will allow the plants to grow and never need replentishing. The Lord Almighty Holy Father, gave the Rainbow as a promise to never flood the whole earth again. The promise is still in effect today. We no longer have a canopy, thus the rainbow. As for being covenant, perhaps, but I would say more like a everlasting promise. Hope this helps. Blessings. justme |

339 | Were they God seeking women etc... | Is 3:16 | justme | 50931
God Denounced Judahs women. They walked in a way that that communicated a specfic attitude. They had ornaments on their ankles that made thire walk different. The way they dressed was seductive, and not in keeping with Godly dress. this gives the idea their dress more like a prostitute, than that of a Godly Jewish believer. If you have any doubt that younger women don't like to intice young men, go into any womens clothing store and see how much it costs to reviel as much as possible and still consider it covering the barest possible. Go to a youth camp and just watch the older teenagers. That's is what God was upset over. The morals that christian teenagers think are ok are so far out of line there are degrees of vergnity! We are messing up in not being direct and open with our kids. When sexually frank ideas are presented in third grade to our children, we need to talk with out kids a lot sooner with very honest answers. agape, justme |

340 | Greiving the Holy Spirit | Is 63:10 | justme | 213495
always lerning: Ephesians 4:30 follows the instructions in verses 28 and 29 listing some actions that grieve the Holy Spirit. Unwholesome words we speak, stealing, laziness, and selfishness. Then in verse 31 Paul continues the list of things that grieve the Holy spirit, bitterness, wrath, anger, slander, malice. Paul give some example of things pleasing for us to be like, kind, tender hearted, forgiving each other as Christ has forgiven us. In Thessalonians 5:19, Paul is refering to tossing the Spiritual gifts the Holy Spirit has given us aside. Pauls warns us to avoid every form of evil, and to be careful how we live, continue to do good and use the gifts given to us. Both verses point to what displeases the Holy Spirit and what does bring glory to the Trinity. When we quench a fire with water we put the fire out. When we quench the Holy Spirit "fire" of the power of God out of our lives. This happens when we do the things Paul mentions in the verses before and after the verses. I hope this gives a little better understanding. justme |
