282 | Daniel 8:21 the shaggy goat. | Dan 8:21 | justme | 60114
DANIEL 8:21 refers to "the shaggy goat" in last nights Bible study, one person said that Alexander the Great knew that this verse was refering to himself. When asked the source of this information, we were told the person read it somewhere. I would like to find the source, if there is one. Does anyone know if the statement is true? If it is true please, could you give me a reliable source for it? Chairo, justme |

286 | How do we have a good prayer life? | Matt 6:6 | justme | 59461
Why is prayer such a difficult thing for Christians? I have been reading SECRETTS OF FAITH WELL LIVED, by Christopher Coppernoll. In the book Coppernoll interviews 14 different authors. Like Max Lucado, Brennan Manning, Steve Brown, and others well known. Every one spoke of how little Christians pray. Interesting was how many pastors admitted to having such a problem with their prayer life. With so much effort as we put into this Forum, do we have a full prayer life? I an searching for someone who has a prayer life that can tell me how they go about their prayer life that makes them feel effective. Thank you for who ever answers. agape, justme |

288 | Church Membership? | NT general Archive 1 | justme | 57931
After reading yesterdays long dialogue about church membership, it seemed rather like arguement rather than higher Christian dialogue. I think the forum is suppose to be compamionship sharing ideas and scriptures, rather than competition and rudeness. I read all the notes, and said this is so infintile and lackked scriptual support by several. If by the notes alone I was to draw a conclusion, I would say "typical Christians always fighting." I do not think this is what the Lord finds pleasing. Do you? I happen to attend a church that has no church menbership! To my total amazement the system works so well. I doubt church membership is near as important as belonging to the family of Jesus Christ. I would like your comments or suggestions. agape, justme |

289 | Hurting words, hurt people? | 1 Tim 6:4 | justme | 57312

290 | Notes that have barbes? | Eph 4:15 | justme | 57291
In very recent notes, words with very sharp doubbled edges, have pierced the names of men who would have done much for defending Christianity. The issue of cults has been a steady diet for too long. I have seen Kalos, and others mocked, and belittled. I do not find this in keeping with the Forum's guide. When very sensitive issues come up, do we always have to answer? Perhaps tring to see who the pesron is, and their back ground might be in order. Consider where this persons tallent might be best used, and this could help this infatic person. I see these notes often lead to harsh words, and even refusing to answer that person any more. I do not find this to be a mature christians attutide. I would welcome any suggestions, or thoughts. agape justme |

291 | Parallel Greek, English N. T. | Bible general Archive 1 | justme | 55743
I am trying to replace a genuine leather Parallel New Testament in Greek and English. The text was printed in England, and leather bound in the USA. Back in 1988 it cost about 85 dollars. I had many notes and used it constantly! I feel like I lost a best friend. Does any one know wher I could find one? I have called several of the usual Bible publishers with no luck. I hope someome has an idea. I do want it in leather on the Bible paper, as close to it as I had. Even used would be fine! Thanks for any help. agape, justme |

300 | Too many Translations in English? | Bible general Archive 1 | justme | 53876
In the left side ou our screens is a TAKE A SURVEY. This survey has caused me to wonder about the many english translations there are for us today. I went to a Christian Book store last week, and There was only a couple of NKJV, and a few more NASB updated, lots of TNIV and NRSV and Living Bibles. Most all Bibles were in bonded leather or "leather like" These POP easy to read third grade level Bibles are being bought by adults! Is this what Pastors are teaching from now? After having the NASB updated I don't as often read my NIV, as I find it misses some words I wonder how they came up with the word. Has amy one else found this? Why do you think publishers have quit make Leather Bibles covers in quality translations? Thank you for your response. agape, Justme |
