261 | Do you own a TNIV? | 2 Sam 21:19 | justme | 68159
Do you own a TNIV? I would like someone who OWNs, and has read a good portion to tell me what you think of the TNIV. I have read a lot of information, but much is hear say and "someone told me". I really want some one with hands on use and reading it, opinions on the TNIV. Thank you. justme |

Has anyone actually bought one, and how do you like it? I have not heard antone say who owns one their view. Have a blessed Thanksgiving! Thanks also for giving me the information too. justme |

263 | Where do we go with burdens? | James 1:5 | justme | 66655
Why is it that we seem to seek out others advice on problems and seek their advice or solutions, from the Forum first? Are we not to seek out Wisdom from our "Owners Manual" the Bible, and pray to our Father in Heaven for wisdom and direction, first before seeking the advice of others? When a thread takes nine hours to suggest some answers for a problem that a burdened person has, is this how we as Christians are to resolve our problems and issues? Should we not direct our burdens to Jesus our Lord, and expect Him to direct and give us wisdom? I am not saying the Forum can not help but should we not direct burdened people to the Lord who has every answer? Psalm 139:3 " You scrutinize my path and my lying down, And are intimately acquainted with all my ways." NASB updated. Who is wiser, more knowledgeable, and loving than God Almighty? Does not God have the answer to everything? Maybe we need to say I am willing to prayer partner with this for you? Is it perhaps, easier to come up with a quick fix instant answer, I really wonder, do you? justme |

264 | Christians living together what to do? | Mark 10:14 | justme | 65762
Prodigal children, husbands, wives bring us deep pain, and the end results can be broken relationships, and be so very painfull. Last week I questioned if anyone has a prodigal. The response was quite touching. Many have their grown children who are Christians living together. This is, I believe a wide spred sin taking place through out our country and Christian homes. Parents are unsure how to deal with it. Do we build bridges or build walls with our prodigals? I would like to start a thread on this subject. I think this will bring out some healing which is deeply needed. Perhaps even save someones life. If you have a Prodigal or would have some good imput please share it as there are millions of familys dealing with this bashfull, shamefull subject. How do we deal with PRODIGALS? justme |

267 | Do you have a Prodigal in your family? | John 13:35 | justme | 65341
Does anyone have a Prodigal in their life. My wife and I found a book by Ruth Bell Graham, called PRODIGALS (AND THOSE WHO LOVE THEN). We have wept and felt helpless, and prayed for our Prodigal. We have felt isolated, and kept our Prodigal situation to our self. Mainly because of judgements, and fear. This book is a healing that I would like to help anyother family that has a Prodigal in the family. This is a book of hope when you feel all hope is gone. I hope this helps someone else out there in the forum. I know we are not alone. justme |

268 | Why make endless quotes? | Bible general Archive 1 | justme | 65092
Why do some quote endlessly from authors when a reference and summary would be just as acceptable? Then list the reference information. I find these long, and I do mean long, quotes cause me to skip over the information and move on to something else. We all can quote by the yard, but making a summary takes some thought and work. To me this represents more effort. Do you think this is worth attempting to try?

270 | Elders anointing sick with oil. | James 5:14 | justme | 63698
In James 5:14 to 16. In these verses Elders are to be praying and anointing the sick, and prayers offered. There in verse 16 we are to confess our sins to one another. I think the anointing with oil is an act of obedience. Why have many pastors and elders neglected these instructions? Would not these instructions, for the churches sick, be much like an ordiance of baptism or the Lords Supper? I do not think these verses say the person will be healed for sure, but that if sin brought on the sickness the sins will be forgiven. Any one have some thoughts on this? justme |

273 | Sin that causes death? | 1 Cor 5:5 | justme | 62961
1Corinthians 5:5. Has anyone ever witnessed someone that was delivered over to satan, so his spirit may be saved? In this case the man repented and in 2 Corinthains 2:6 to 8 Paul tells the Corinthians to reaffirm their love ot the man. If he had not repented would he have lost his physical life? Has anyone ever seen this? |

274 | Do we sleep , awaiting Jesus' return? | Phil 1:23 | justme | 62948
1Thessalonians 4:13 to 18. These verses refer to those who die in Christ. The words "those who have fallen asleep" are mentioned here and other passages. Does thia mean when we die that we are in a state of sleep until the coming of the Lord. For some this is called grave sleep. I am aware that no matter if there is grave sleep or as Hebrews 9:27 says "And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgement." NASB Even this verse can mean that AFTER, which who knows when after is, could mean when Christ returns, then it is after. Please answer this only with scriptural back up. This is important to me, and please take time in answering it. Thank you for your answer. justme |

275 | chewing the cud on old hashed stuff? | Ps 26:1 | justme | 62938
I just read all 63 notes and questions about Arminiianisn and Calvinisn. I am over-wrought with the extraordinary amount of superfluous squuander of insipid debates over two theological points, that few if any, find inspiring. These topics have reached the point of instigating nothing worthy of this Forun. Does not 63 posts seem more than adaquite for one day? This is one bovine that is tired of rehashing this over and over. I would rather chew my cud on something else.
276 | Exactly what is TAIZ'E? | NT general Archive 1 | justme | 62200
This weekend on PBS TV I saw where over 6,000, mostly young people, were attending a worship center called TAIZ'E. The location was in Europe. What I saw was hinting of Universalism. Does any know much more than I saw on TV? I have the gut feeling this is a "feel good" experience, because I saw no Bibles, but they sang chants, and praise songs, but no preaching. The Word says unless they hear how will they know. Just what I saw made me wonder what it really is. Thank You for the help. justme |

277 | Romans Road verses inorder please? | Romans | justme | 62204
I am looking for the exact scripture order of the "ROMANS ROAD". I have used what I think is the Romans Road, of leading others to Christ. This has worked very well for me, for several years. However, recently someone told me I have it in a different way then they had seen. They did not have their Bible with them, and could not remember exactly how it went. If some one could give me the verses in the correct order I would be pleased, Thank you and God bless. justme |
