261 | Conditional organs donation | Matt 7:12 | Wild Olive Shoot | 188948
Dear Azure, Matthew 7:12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. I would also direct you to Romans chapter 12 for the application of brotherly love and not thinking to highly of ourselves, that those in the condition you have mentioned are any less in need of grace than you or I. A personal thought, the actual deed of donating an organ is yours and a charitable God looks upon charity favorably. How the recipient chooses to take full benefit of possibly a second chance is between the recipient and God. A donor has done the right thing in giving. That’s just a personal thought at a glance. I’m sure there are many factors that one could take into consideration. We all need grace, stand in His, WOS |

262 | Why do people like to accuse me? | Luke 6:37 | Wild Olive Shoot | 188938
Dear Vincent, Sounds like you may be a bit disgruntled over a traffic incident… In answer to your response, hear this, or rather read this: We all stand guilty before God without Christ. So guilty unto proven innocent as you proclaim, is correct in a far as you are guilty until your faith is in Christ and His atonement. Even then your are still guilty, but pardoned by a gracious God. You may have to stand before “A” judge, but he or she is not “THE” judge. If you think you are going to hell over a traffic violation, then your faith is surely not resting upon Jesus Christ my friend. John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 1Corinthians 11:32 But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world. So quit lashing out and complaining. Make your appearance in court; uphold your responsibility as a citizen and more importantly as a Christian. Stand in His grace, WOS |

264 | who is ahaz? | OT general | Wild Olive Shoot | 188885
From Easton’s Bible Dictionary Ahaz Possessor. (1.) A grandson of Jonathan (1Ch_8:35; 1Ch_9:42). (2.) The son and successor of Jotham, king of Judah (2 Kings 16; Isa. 7-9; 2 Chr. 28). He gave himself up to a life of wickedness and idolatry. Notwithstanding the remonstrances and warnings of Isaiah, Hosea, and Micah, he appealed for help against Rezin, king of Damascus, and Pekah, king of Israel, who threatened Jerusalem, to Tiglath-pileser, the king of Assyria, to the great injury of his kingdom and his own humiliating subjection to the Assyrians (2Ki_16:7, 2Ki_16:9; 2Ki_15:29). He also introduced among his people many heathen and idolatrous customs (Isa_8:19; Isa_38:8; 2Ki_23:12). He died at the age of thirty-five years, after reigning sixteen years (740-724 B.C.), and was succeeded by his son Hezekiah. Because of his wickedness he was “not brought into the sepulchre of the kings.” WOS |

265 | Tell me more about satan before this? | Col 1:10 | Wild Olive Shoot | 188879
Dear dfw chapter rep, Colossians 3:1,2: 1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. The object of your pursuit should be Christ. Look up! Draw nigh to God. James 4:8 Stand in His grace. WOS |

266 | Saved or not ? | Jer 17:9 | Wild Olive Shoot | 188874
Dear justme, Jeremiah 17:9,10: 9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? 10 I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings. Romans 8:27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. You ask the question like you believe you can really tell who is saved and who isn’t. The truth is, you can’t, for you cannot possibly know another’s heart, that is an attribute of God and we are simply not capable. We are called to preach the Gospel, to every creature, not just those who we may think are lost, because again in part, we know not their heart. Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 2Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 267 | Asking many to pray for us? | Eph 6:18 | Wild Olive Shoot | 188870
Dear justme, Following is some Scripture and commentary I hope helps. Ephesians 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; 1Timothy 2:1-4: 1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. “For all men - Prayers should be made for all people - for all need the grace and mercy of God; thanks should be rendered for all, for all may be saved.”… – Albert Barnes James 5:14 – 16: 14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: 15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. 16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. “And pray one for another - One for the other; mutually. Those who have done injury, and those who are injured, should pray for each other. The apostle does not seem here, as in Jam_5:14-15, to refer particularly to the prayers of the ministers of religion, or the elders of the church, but refers to it as a duty pertaining to all Christians.” – Albert Barnes Acts 12:5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. Matthew 18:19,20: 19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. 20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. Stand in His grace, WOS |

268 | What book does God stop/turn back time? | Josh 10:13 | Wild Olive Shoot | 188827
This could be what you are referring to: Joshua 10:12-14: 12 Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. 13 And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day. 14 And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the LORD fought for Israel. 269 | ADOPTING BLACK BABIES | Bible general Archive 3 | Wild Olive Shoot | 188595
Dear Marcel, I pray the following is helpful. Galatians 3:26-29: 26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. "For ye are all one in Christ Jesus - You are all equally accepted through the Lord Jesus Christ; or you are all on the same level, and entitled to the same privileges in your Christian profession. Bond and free, male and female, Jew and Greek, are admitted to equal privileges, and are equally acceptable before God. And the church of God, no matter what may be the complexion, the country, the habits, or the rank of its members, is one. Every man, on whom is the image and the blood of Christ, is a brother to every other one who bears that image, and should be treated accordingly. What an influence would be excited in the breaking up of the distinctions of rank and caste among people; what an effect in abolishing the prejudice on account of color and country, if this were universally believed and felt!" - Albert Barnes Stand in His grace, WOS |

272 | Why were the chosen ones chosen? | Rom 9:15 | Wild Olive Shoot | 188559
TheSeeker8, Romans 9:15,16: 15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. 16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. Romans 4:3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. Hebrews 11:7,8: 7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. 8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. 273 | Define "happiness" based on the Bible | Lam 3:17 | Wild Olive Shoot | 188557
Dear 00123, Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. "All our joy must terminate in God; and our thoughts of God must be delightful thoughts."... ..."It is our duty and privilege to rejoice in God, and to rejoice in him always; at all times, in all conditions; even when we suffer for him, or are afflicted by him. We must not think the worse of him or of his ways for the hardships we meet with in his service. There is enough in God to furnish us with matter of joy in the worst circumstance on earth."... ..."Joy in God is a duty of great consequence in the Christian life; and Christians need to be again and again called to it. If good men have not a continual feast, it is their own fault." - Matthew Henry I don't know if the above actually defines happiness, but it directs us to where we can find it. 275 | Can the devil tune in to our thoughts? | Bible general Archive 3 | Wild Olive Shoot | 188226
InGodITrust, You need to offer biblical proof to support your statement of “only human beings have a mouth, tongue, vocal cords, and so on; spiritual beings do not of which Satan is one”. In response to your statement: “Again, it is just my observation; But, how else do "spiritual beings communicate?" And, are we also going to say that "God can not or does not read our thougts?" The scriptures clearly say He does, and if so, there is nothing to indicate in scripture that other spiritual beings can not.” God is not simply a “spiritual being”. He is the Almighty Creator of the universe and everything that resides in it. He created the spiritual beings. Don’t dare put them on the same playing level. I’m not certain whether our minds can be read by the devil or not, but I would submit that there probably isn’t a need to. As long as he has been around to observe our wicked ways, I’m sure he knows more about us than he needs to in order to tempt us. Interestingly enough, following are some excerpts from the commentary Albert Barnes has in reference to 2 Corinthians 4:4, he seems to support your opinion that the devil may have a direct influence on our minds, but I don’t get that he thinks he has free access to our thoughts, again, I’m not sure, just posting for information. I don’t think Scripture supports that our minds can be read by the devil, but it surely shows there can be an influence upon it. “Hath blinded the minds of them which believe not - Of all who discern no beauty in the gospel, and who reject it. It is implied here:” “That the minds of unbelievers are blinded; that they perceive no beauty in the gospel.” “That this is done by the agency of Satan; and that his dominion is secured by keeping the world in darkness.” “Some of the “modes” in which it is done are the following:” “By a direct influence on the minds of people.” “By the false philosophy which has prevailed” “By the systems of superstition and idolatry.” “By producing in the minds of people a wholly disproportionate view of the value of objects. “A very small object held before the eye will shut out the light of the sun.”” “By the blinding influence of passion and vice.” Stand in His grace, WOS |

279 | When do you not submit to authority | Bible general Archive 3 | Wild Olive Shoot | 187959
Hello nobody, Here are some words to consider in answering your question. Acts 5:27-29: 27And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them, 28 Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us. 29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men. 1Peter 2:13-17: 13 Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; 14 Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well. 15 For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men: 16 As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God. 17 Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king. Romans 13:1-7: 1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. 2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. 3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: 4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. 5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. 6 For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. 7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour. 1Timothy 2:1,2: 1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. Titus 3:1 Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work. If something pleases God, it is good and right. Stand in His grace, WOS |

280 | Can you lose your salvation? | Eph 1:13 | Wild Olive Shoot | 187879
Hey Mark, I agree. I don’t believe we could come to a mutual understanding on the subject and our debate would benefit nobody. But, just so you know where I stand, I hope it is in God’s grace, and that grace is freely dispensed according to His good pleasure. Ephesians 1:5,6: 5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, 6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. Ephesians 1:9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: Philippians 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. 2Thessalonians 1:11 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power: Eph 4:3–7: 3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. 7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
