2448 | Make a Decision | Rev 3:20 | stjohn | 204967
Dear Lookin... Well, If it's not a call to salvation, I honestly don't know what is. Rev 3:14-20 in my opinion is one of the grandest calls to salvation in all of Scripture, apart from the Cross of Christ itself. Indeed it is The Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit that indwells us when we are born again, that truly reveals to our depraved heart, that we are indeed, wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked. why my friend, it is that same Spirit of God, The Holy Spirit, that in this way reveals to us, that we need a saviour, and thats the revelation of God to our heart that calls us to Salvation. And it is indeed that same Spirit of God, that is that very "salve", that opens our spiritual eyes, that we may see that we are being called to Salvation. And may I say, what is the difference between making a decision, and being called, as one would simply not hapen with the other? For is it not the Spirit of God that reveals to us that we are being called to salvation and need to make that disision? Shalom John |

2449 | Make a Decision | Rev 3:20 | stjohn | 205163
Hi Hoppy: Just like all of the Bible, I, and thee, my friend. I believe, every letter, in, The Revelation of Jesus Christ, is addressed to, all the Churches, of all the word; Especially to those people, who sit, day after day, year after year, in those Churches: And they sit on their blessed assurance, and do nothing! They never change, they just agree, and nod their heads, and do, nothing. They never really make a decision for Christ, because they think they have it all, they think they are rich, they never realize, that they are, "wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked." They never realize, that the heart of man has nothing in it that is, pleasing to God. Very sad. 'He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.' Rev 2:29 Note: The word Churches? Is plural.... Shalom and God bless John |

Hi Hoppy: Brother, I’ve been thinking about your response to my post, in which I made an assertion that, that particular part of. Rev, Was a call to salvation. Well, Brother, I believe after reflecting on this for some time, that my answer to you was rather flip, and I’d like to apologize. So, Hoppy, I’m sorry for that, and I’d like to start over if I may. You see I believe that there are many indeed that are sitting in Churches, that are not really saved, and that this was as true in that day as much as it is today. So, though, it may not be an area of Scripture that one would use to evangelize the general public, out in the world. And, I agree with you my friend, in that sense. I do believe, however, that it could, and in some cases, should be used to evangelize those that are in Churches, and only THINK they are saved. Do you see what our Lord is saying here, in Rev 3:17 --'Because you say, "I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing," and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked,"-- Can you see that He is saying that they only think that they are rich and that they only think that they have no need? And that they are poor and not rich, that they are naked before God and not clothed in righteousness, that they, though they think they see, they are blind? And the next verse: Rev 3:18 --"I advise you to buy from Me gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness will not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see."-- Oh my, my friend, this is indeed a call to salvation, the salvation of the ones that are in many ways in more dire need than the poor sinner lost in the world, for they no that they are sinners. But the poor man that sits Sunday after Sunday, on his blessed assurance, and thinks he is really something, thinking that he is righteous. And he just sits there and nods his head, but the message that we are sinners saved by grace, and that we are not righteous but only that, that the blood of Christ only imparts righteousness to us. Though our sins are as scarlet, He has made then as wool, as white as snow, by the way, and by the blood of the one and the only one that is indeed righteous. The one that is calling those who are neither cold nor hot, the ones that only THINK they are saved.... Jesus Christ is standing at the door of their hearts and He is knocking, if only they would see truth of the condition of their hearts, and open it. Sure thing, and I agree, much of this chapter is a call to renewing of fellowship with Him, but it is also a call those who are not saved. --"He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.'' --Rev 3:22 Amazed by His wonderful grace, and eternal mercy, John |

"You will bear me witness, my friends, that it is exceedingly seldom I ever intrude into the mysteries of the future with regard to the second advent, the millennial reign, or the first and second resurrection. As often as we come across it in our expositions we do not turn aside from the point, but if guilty at all on this point, it is rather in being too silent than saying too much." --Charles Spurgeon

Dear sir; Your view gives a gross misconception of the grace and mercy of our Lord. Very frankly, I resent your implication that our Lord would punish one that was martyred for His name. That is absolutely, unScriptural And unChristian! God bless. John |

Dear M.Royal; What you have said here is true, but, your assuming that all that are God's are the Church. Where does it say that? Answer) It doesn't. There will be people saved after the Church age, just as there are old testament saints, that are not the Church, that where saved before the Church age. Please, perhaps you could ask your questions without the facetious overtones, that way I would be able to answer them more easily, as I assumed from your question that you where implying, that the martyrs would suffer the wrath. Thank You. God bless. John |

Dear sir; I guess you are finally showing your colors. I wondered if you really had questions, or you just wanted to manipulate the forum to your way of thinking. It is clear to me now., and I am finished with this conversation. I do not appreciate deceptiveness, nor do any of the good people hear at the forum. I will thank you very much to stop pestering me, and others, and trying to push your view. You are fussing over details that have nothing to do with salvation or spreading the gospel of salvation. God bless. John |

2459 | Dan not mentioned in Revelations | Rev 7:1 | stjohn | 201744
Hi Cliff: Welcome to the forum! It's believed by many that it was because if their Idolatry. Remember however, this is conjecture. Here is an excerpt from John Gill's Exposition of the whole Bible. --" Re 7:4; the tribe of Dan is not mentioned, it may be because of the apostasy of that tribe, one of Jeroboam's golden calves being set up there; showing that God had no sealed ones of that sort, and instead of him Levi is reckoned; though that tribe had no part in the division of the land of Israel, yet had a part in Christ, and is therefore mentioned in this mystical account. Nor is the name of Ephraim used, it may be for the same reason; there having been a great defection in that tribe from the pure worship of God, and instead of him the name of Joseph appears."-- John Gill God bless John |

2460 | Dan not mentioned in Revelations | Rev 7:1 | stjohn | 201834
Just an added note: Hosea 5:11b (because he willingly walked after the commandment) is not referring to any commandments given by God; but commandments of man. Indicating Ephraim feared man, and most likely, sought after the approval of man over their fear of God. Something we need to be ever so careful not to do, by the way. :-) God bless John |
