Bible Question:
Is this verse in essence, a call to Salvation, spoken by JESUS? From the other verses 14-19 it sounds like he's saying, choose this day whom you will serve! Make a decision. |
Bible Answer: Dear Lookin... Well, If it's not a call to salvation, I honestly don't know what is. Rev 3:14-20 in my opinion is one of the grandest calls to salvation in all of Scripture, apart from the Cross of Christ itself. Indeed it is The Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit that indwells us when we are born again, that truly reveals to our depraved heart, that we are indeed, wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked. why my friend, it is that same Spirit of God, The Holy Spirit, that in this way reveals to us, that we need a saviour, and thats the revelation of God to our heart that calls us to Salvation. And it is indeed that same Spirit of God, that is that very "salve", that opens our spiritual eyes, that we may see that we are being called to Salvation. And may I say, what is the difference between making a decision, and being called, as one would simply not hapen with the other? For is it not the Spirit of God that reveals to us that we are being called to salvation and need to make that disision? Shalom John |
