Hi Val, She is very fortunate to have someone like you that care for her! The safest and best approach is always the Word of the Lord. If you can get her actively engaged in a sound Bible discussion group it would do her a world of good. See what your local churches have to offer in the way of “home Bible discussion groups”. I’m not talking about the standard church setting, as it were, but a small home study setting with sound Bible doctrine. Acts 20:20 And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house, CDBJ |

Hi Val, It appears like you are really letting this thing beat you up. The next time “she” brings it up, ask her where she thinks this vision of hers might fit in with the revealed Word of God, the Bible? You might want to ask her what her thoughts are with regards to the “finished cannon of Scripture”, or if there is more to come? Paul even warns us about thing outside of God’s written Word. There are forces at work that “can be” within the realm possibility but that doesn’t mean they are all from the Lord. Example: Galatians 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. You might be surprised what some believe in opposition to what the Bible conveys as truth, and the woods are full of them. 2 Cor. 11:13-15 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. Greetings, If she is a “speaker at different churches and groups”; I wonder what it is she is communicating to those church groups? If, as you say, she doesn’t realize that what she saw in the “vision” wasn’t normal then what is it that she considers normal, biblically speaking? By sharing that situation with others is she trying to say that she has some kind of a special in with the Lord and people should listen to her more because of this “special” vision. 2 Tim. 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; If it were me, I would listen and observe, and try to figure out where she is going with this; maybe it’s nothing but time will tell, CDBJ |

245 | Secular Humanism: Man Centered | James 5:5 | CDBJ | 200012
Hi Doc, Your post is very pertinent for today! The way I see it, Secular Humanism, by what ever color people try to paint it as a disguise these days still always seems to bleed through to the top and show up in “opposition” to the work of God that was accomplished in Christ. Where the problem comes in is that the average believer, now days, doesn’t have enough knowledge of Bible doctrine to differentiate between truth and error coming from pulpits. Ephes. 4:14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; Good post and the proper perspective for many of the "mega churches" that are taking hold of the masses in the USA today. They might even be clearer defined as “Religious Secular Humanistic Social Clutches”. CDBJ |

Hi Militaryguy, Don’t you have Microsoft Word on your PC? I’m the world’s worst speller so I just use MS Word and the drag copy and paste. There is spell check there and if there is something that you would like to save it right there also. If you aren’t sure how to do it let me know I’ll explain it. If I can do it anyone can do it. 248 | What does Romans 2:1 mean. As Christians | Rom 2:1 | CDBJ | 199573
Greetings, I believe it helps when we stop and realize it’s the old sin nature within us that produces the overt action of an actual sin; when our volition gives in to temptations and none of us are secure from the problem until such time as we will be removed from the flesh; by death or the rapture which ever occurs first. 1 John 1:7-8 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 8If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. Paul himself realized his shortcomings with the problem: Romans 7:24-25 Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death? 25Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, on the one hand I myself with my mind am serving the law of God, but on the other, with my flesh the law of sin. The recipients of the righteousness of God in Christ have the evidence of two natures, as it were; but only one is in control at any given point in time. Ephes. 4:30-32 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. 32And be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you. The exercise of 1Jn. 1:9 eliminates a host of problems before they get too far out of hand. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Have a great day, CDBJ |

Greetings, It was the version that Paul used! Acts 12:4 (KJV) And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people. Just kidding but it is the KJV but I'm not saying I agree with it. When it comes down to it I go with the NASV when splitting hairs, if I can't figure it out in the Koine Greek. CDBJ |

253 | three things we are not to worried about | Luke 12:22 | CDBJ | 199233
“We are told at least three things not to worry about, that are listed here in Luke 12 and also in Matthew 6: Food, Drink, and Clothing.” Interesting post but wouldn’t it be wise first to qualify just exactly who the “we” are; since there are masses around the world that obviously don’t fit into the category? I guess what I am saying is that the word “WE” isn’t all inclusive from the viewpoint of the casual observer. CDBJ |

255 | Is Universalism Scriptural | Lev 16:34 | CDBJ | 198756
Hi Nick, All of the verses that you mentioned are absolutely true in fact to prove it, God Himself, came into the world and paid the awesome price that the righteousness of God demanded for each one of us. Acts 20:28 Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood. Where the problem comes in is when anyone reject or refuse what God has done for them in the person of His Son Jesus. God will not force anyone to accept His gracious gift of eternal life, which actually resides “in” the person Jesus. 1 John 5:11 And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. It’s like throwing a life line to a drowning man and he down right refuses to take hold and be hauled in. After refusing “all” possible attempt the ship must sail on, even though the drowning man is in the middle of the ocean and sinking. There are only two alternatives in this life. God’s provision for eternal life in Christ or what God has prepared for the devil and his angels. When anyone refuses God’s Son they are sealing their own fate. God only has one plan for mankind’s rescue and that fantastic plan resides in the One and only precious Messiah of God; Jesus The Christ. 2 Cor. 5:21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. God “can’t possibly” help anyone that doesn’t rely “totally” on Jesus Christ for their eternal life. If God would save them anyway it would jeopardize God’s character and make Him a liar. John 3:36 He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him." CDBJ |

Greetings, Since you don’t provide Scripture with your answers it’s hard to understand what it is you are trying to say, and even if it were clear it would still only be the counsel of a man and therefore not dependable. Psalm 119:160 The sum of Thy word is truth, And every one of Thy righteous ordinances is everlasting. Greetings, Why is it that “you” believe that? Here is my reason: 1 John 1:5-8 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 8If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 259 | IS PETER | Matt 16:16 | CDBJ | 198631
Greetings, That’s what Peter said alright but he said it because he actually believed it to be so. In Peter’s case it wasn’t something that he was parroting that he heard but was speaking from what he actually knew about Christ. Jesus insured him that this “knowledge”, that he had, came directly from God the Father and no one else. The body of Christ or the church isn’t built on what someone says but the fact of what they truly believe and are trusting in the fact of what Jesus did and who He is. There is a miracle at work every time God reveals this truth. It’s strictly a grace operation when God reveals and installs the knowledge of His Son in someone’s; and then what results is a new spiritual berth taking place, the very instant saving faith responds to God’s message. John 20:30-31 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: 31But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. Hi Steve, 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. The word confess as found in the previous verse is the Koine Greek word HOMOLOGEO and its etymology originated in the courts where the accused was told to admit or state what was done even though he was caught in the act. When Jesus used the word “repent” He had not yet paid the price for sin. Now since the death of Christ on the cross, God is able to forgive the believers sin because of what Christ did to satisfy the righteousness and the justice of God. All of our pre salvation sins where handled the moment we believed in God’s Son Jesus Christ. The “penalty for sin” was paid for at the cross but our post salvation sins aren’t forgiven until we confess them to God the Father thus "restoring" fellowship. Any sin, in the believer’s life, quenches or grieves the indwelling Holy Spirit; and even though He will never leave us, since we are always indwelt by the Spirit from point of salvation, we can still lose His fellowship by neglecting to exercise the function of 1John 1:9. That was the big problem that was taking place in Corinthian church. 1 Cor. 3:3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? They were neglecting to get back in fellowship and as a result they couldn’t grow because the Holy Spirit was grieved and couldn’t teach them, i.e. they were out of fellowship and needed to be filled. Ephes. 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; The word filled or, PLEROO, means to fill up a deficiency or get back in fellowship. All sin before the death of Christ could only be covered or atoned for, but not actually removed and dealt with. God's Messiah actually removed sin being the perfect Lamb of God. Before Jesus paid the awesome price for sin one needed to ask for God to forgive him on a different basis other then what we have, since his propitious work is "completed". Thus my implication that it is an insult to God to ask for forgiveness since God has already made the provision in the person of His Son. Now I suppose I have everyone confused, CDBJ |
