234 | Why do some think Paul was a homosexual? | Romans | Searcher56 | 229767
God's day to you, Merrilee, and welcome to the SBF, Instead of giving what Paul said (Rom 1:26-27), which you knew ... I will answer your question why unbelievers have the idea Paul was a homosexual ... If I read correctly the following: - I think John Shelby Spong cited Paul's thorn in the flesh as the reason (2Co 12:7-9) ... http://www.beliefnet.com/Faiths/Christianity/2004/04/Was-The-Apostle-Paul-Gay.asp -- Also read http://www.gayheroes.com/paul.htm - I think another cites Paul having Timothy circumcised(Act 16:3) ... http://www.apostleofdoom.com/did-paul-had-homosexual-urges/ - For the link below, replace the question mark for (QM) replace the equal sign for (EQ) ... this includes citing Paul was not married (1Co 7:8) (which I would have used) ... http://forums.carm.org/vbb/archive/index.php/t-63012.html(QM)s(EQ)0c339e16d10bf79f59ec5c78ad980d9f ... or Google "Was the Apostle Paul Gay" I don't agree with them. We are able to refute these points. The main refute is it doesn't line up with what he said in Romans 1:26-27. Searcher |

235 | who were the judges of 1375 to 1050B.c | Judg 3:9 | Searcher56 | 229762
God's day to you, happiness, and welcome to the SBF, The book of Judges mentions: Judge Reference Othniel 3:9-11 Ehud 3:15-30 Shamgar 3:31 Deborah 4:4-5:31 Gideon 6:7-8:35 Tola 10:1-2 Jair 10:3-5 Jephthah 11:1-12:7 Ibzan 12:8-10 Elon 12:11-12 Abdon 12:13-15 Samson 13:2-16:31 I believe the judges in Samuel ... Eli (1:1-4:18) and Samuel (7:3-25:1), plus Joel and Abiah, the two sons of Samuel (8:1) ... were after 1375 to 1050 BC. Moses and others judged Israel before them all (Exo 18:13-27). Searcher |

236 | what it mean't by both of the persons | Num 31:28 | Searcher56 | 229757
God's day to you, mamawkat, and welcome to the SBF, Numbers 31 could be titled Executing the LORD'S Vengeance on the Midianites (vs 2) ... for what they did to Israel. Read Numbers 22ff. The booty was divided in half - the 120,000 soldiers got half and those left behind got the other half. David followed the same principle (1Sa 30:9-25). There was a 1/500 tax that given to the Eleazar, the high priest as an offering to the Lord (it was not for him) from the soldiers' half, and a 1/50 tax to the Levite from the other half. Notice the Lord got 1/10 of what the preists received (Num 18:21-30). I hope I answered your question and that you stay and share, Searcher |

239 | Apostles activities | 1 Tim 1:12 | Searcher56 | 229752
biblicalman, I wonder why you only included "Acts 1-15". Do you discount Paul who was an apostle according to Luke (Act 14:14)? Moreover, since Acts 13-14 is about the ministry of Barnabas and Paul, it is even more strange that you ended in chapter 15 and not not chapter 28. Bottom line I think the whole book of Acts is tells of the ministry/activities of the Apostles. Searcher |

240 | Apostles activities | 1 Tim 1:12 | Searcher56 | 229741
God's day to you, biblicalman, I wonder why you said "If you read through Acts 1-15 and notice how often the ministry of all the Apostles" since Acts 14:14 says "But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul" ... and Paul called himself an apostle in the beginning of all his letters except one. Barnabas and Paul are the two mentioned in chapters 13-14 of Acts ... then starting in chapter 16 ... it is about the ministry of Paul. Searcher Did you know there were other apostles? |
