202 | One that i had no inner peace on | Mark 12:28 | Searcher56 | 229972
God's day to you, Dave, and welcome to the SBF, This passage is seen elsewhere (Matt 22:34-40; Luke 10:25-28, 20:39ff). You have nmany questions .. -This is one i have asked people about? ... I don't understand your question. -So far i have been told, it can't be understood? ... Who told you that? -So i cant just read this as any child could and understand it as any child could easily do? ... I think you would need to know how this fits in with the 10 commandments (Exo 20, Deu 5:1-21) and Shema (Deu 6:5-9) ... plus the Holy Spirit to guide you (e.g. John 16:7-14). -What i see here is Jesus telling the scribe the common Jewish answer given to this question each time. i see him telling what the 2 greatest commandments are, with the 1st being the Shema from Deut.6? ... You are partly right. See the above answer. -They both agree to the meaning of our greatest commandment? ... Yes It is in agreement with what the Lord says about Himself throughout the Jewish scriptures? ... Yes -When i have said what i see here, people say im a false teacher for saying the greatest commandment should be the 1st thing out of our mouth, when we declare His truths and what our profession should be on this? ... There is nothing about what we say in this passage. Jesus is tlaking about all we do, not just say. -i just wondered what people see on this here on the forum? ... 204 | check "nets" and "net" in Luk 5:4-5- | Luke 5:5 | Searcher56 | 229933
God's day to you, dougs297, and welome to the SBF, Some would say that you are trying to strain out a gnat. However, I think every word in the Word is important. It is not just net/nets ... it is your nets/the net. Simon doesn't say my. Jesus saw two boats and the men washing their nets (v 2) ... I presume on the shore, not in the boat. Jesus told Simon to 'let down your nets for a catch' ... I think He wanted Simon to call James and John (second boat) to throw out their net, too. I am amazed that Simon put the net in the boat when he took Jesus offshore. I think he had only one net. I llok at John 21:6, where the boat had one net. I think Peter -put his foot in his mouth and thought he could do it himself -may have lacked faith that there would be any fish, so didn't want to waste time in getting the second boat out. -didn't want to force the issue. A side note ... the ‘Interlinear Literal Translation of the Greek New Testament’ has the plural-singular difference. The ‘ESV Interlinear and Nestle-Aland Greek New Testament 27th’ has the plural nets in both cases. What do you think? Share your questions and thoughts, Searcher |

John, John, John, You said 'Jesus said, "All sins and blaphemies" ... but you left off ... what I have in parens ... "all sins (shall be forgiven the sons of men,) and (whatever) blasphemies (they utter)" My brother Beja is correct, you left off the important word BUT. There is an exception. Do not take the Bible out of context. I gave you a clear answer. Now I believe the question was a trap. 208 | who is Miriam? | Num 26:59 | Searcher56 | 229915
God's day to you, sharmar, and welcome to the SBF, Miriam was the daughter of Amram and Jochebed, sister of Aaron and Moses (Num 26:59, 1Ch 6:3) She was the sister who watched Moses trip in wicker basket and got the daughter of Pharaoh to have him go back home (Exo 2:1-10). Miriam is called a prophetess, and may have composed a victory song after Pharaoh’s army was drowned in the Red Sea (Exo 15:20-21). Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because of the Cushite woman whom he had married … as the result, she was made a leper by God (Num 12:1-15), which was recalled later (Deu 24:9). Miriam died and was buried at Kadesh (Num 20:1) … it was where Moses and Aaron did one thing that kept them out of the Promised Land (vv 2-14). There is another Miriam (1Ch 4:17). 209 | Forgiving Blaspemies! | Mark | Searcher56 | 229907
Scripture ... Mark 3:29 but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin 30 because they were saying, "He has an unclean spirit." ... God's day to you, John, Jesus had the Holy Spirit (Matt 3:16; Mark 1:10; Luke 3:22; John 1:32). By saying the Holy Spirit was an unclean spirit was blaspheme or slander. Blaspheme is from two Greek words blapto and pheme ... meaning bad report. In Matthew's account on blaspheme (12:22-37) we read in verse 24, 'But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, "This man casts out demons only by Beelzebul the ruler of the demons." Jesus said their sin was not against Him, but the Holy Spirit. So, I gather that if you give a bad report about the Holy Spirit ... maybe even saying that giving credit for something He did to someone else, you will not be forgiven, ever. Searcher |

213 | Unpardoned sin in New Testament? | Mark | Searcher56 | 229872
God's day to you, rbarrow, and welcome to the SBF, Are you saying if you blaspheme against the Holy Spirit you will be forgiven? How do you reconcile what Jesus said (Matt 12:31, 32; Mark 3:28-30; Luke 12:10)? What part of the Law is blaspheme against the Holy Spirit. Rememeber Jesus is also God ... did the penalty apply if one whold blaspheme Him? The Law was against God, not specifically the Holy Spirit (Exo 22:28; Lev 24:15-16). Or ... Are you saying if you blaspheme against the Holy Spirit is no longer a sin? Why did Jesus pick out this capital punishment Law to say it was unpardonable? Share your thoughts, Searcher |

Scripture ... Mar 7:21 (vv 14-23); 1Co 6:13-7:9; 2Co 12:21; Gal 5:19 (vv 16-25); Eph 5:3 (vv 1-21); Col 3:5 (vv 1-11); Heb 13:4 ... God's day to you, broadway, and welcome to the SBF, There will be those who will say it is okay. One reason is that you are both older, previously married and have needs. But, my brother Beja is correct - it is wrong for you to have sex with your boyfriend (or anyone). I have cited additional Scripture to show that sex outside marriage is wrong. I am think Hebrews 13:4 (you are no longer married) and thefirst nine verses of 1 Corinthians 7 is where you both should start.
