222 | Praying to Mary isn't worship? | Bible general Archive 1 | srbaegon | 71089
Hello Steve Asking a dead person to pray for me is completely unreasonable regardless of who that person was. We have no mention of this activity in Scripture besides what the Lord Jesus Himself does. Steve |

223 | Heaven be entered during bowl judgments? | Bible general Archive 1 | srbaegon | 72643
Hello David_24597 Your words are perplexing because you say "I think" or "It's somewhere". Could you supply the references? Steve |

224 | Making sure I understand your meaning | Bible general Archive 1 | srbaegon | 72723
Hello David_24597 Perhaps you should look at the context 2 Cor 5. There is nothing which speaks of the fleshly lusts, only what is done while in the body. The only help you've given is to help cloud a perfectly clear matter. Steve |

225 | How did Paul die and when ? | Bible general Archive 1 | srbaegon | 85173
Hello Hank, I agree. I can hear it now, "Woe is me if I can't have everything I crave." Although my current diet allows me to enter into Paul's suffering on a very small scale. ;-) Steve |

226 | Reconciling Scripture verses. | OT general | srbaegon | 201103
Hello parpar, I believe that I missed the point of your post. How does the blog entry respond to WOS and the issue of justification in this thread? Steve |

227 | How could the Bible be true? | NT general Archive 1 | srbaegon | 20316
Explanation........... The inscriptions as related by the gospel writers does not show order or priority. They simply state that all three were on the inscription. As far as the seeming discrepancy of Matt 27:37, see the other responses. By the way, I think you are baiting us, because in the past you have given authoritative answers and now you are questioning things that the most ignorant unbeliever would not ask. Steve |

228 | Is is right to call money a seed? | NT general Archive 1 | srbaegon | 21925
Correction................................. Casiv, If I may correct something here. It's the *love* of money that is a root of evil. 1 Tim 6:10 For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. 229 | Proof that JC is the Messiah to Jews' | NT general Archive 1 | srbaegon | 26274
Hello ThomasTheNonDoubter! Twice today, you have mentioned that blood can only be created by the seed from the father. This is new to me, and I was wondering if you could supply where that is documented or how you came across it. Thanks! Steve |

230 | Why do we keep curses in our lives? | NT general Archive 1 | srbaegon | 31982
Yes, sickness is a fruit of sin. No question. However, conversely, sickness cannot be considered evidence of sin (Job 2:7-10; James 5:14-15). Steve |

232 | Heaven or Hell, where is Judas? | NT general Archive 1 | srbaegon | 50730
Hello tonize I (and most on this forum) would say that Christ's atoning death on the cross was sufficient to cover the sins of all men for all time, but it is only effective in those who believe on Him. The Lord Jesus Himself refers to Judas Iscariot as "a devil" (John 6:70) and "the son of destruction" (John 17:12). Also Jesus says that it would have been better for His betrayer to have never been born (Matt 26:24-25; Mark 14:21). I could go on. Though Judas was one of the twelve disciples, he never believed. Steve |

233 | Heaven or Hell, where is Judas? | NT general Archive 1 | srbaegon | 50735
Hello tonize Repentance is two-part. First, we turn from what we are doing. Second, we turn to God and are obedient to Him. Judas turned from what he did and hanged himself. This is not obedience to the living God. Judas was born that the Scriptures might be fulfilled (Matt 26:56 -- betrayal at Gethsemane). He just followed his own desires. God does not make anyone go to hell. If the Savior had not intervened, we all would go there. Jesus did not say Judas was Satan but referred to him more as a henchman. As for God/Jesus using Satan for His purposes, it's already happened more than once. See Job 1,2 and compare 2 Samuel 24:1 with 1 Chron 21:1. Steve |

234 | Closed Communion | NT general Archive 1 | srbaegon | 51888
Hello Searcher The thought is that it is a corporate time of worship and remembering the Lord. In Scripture it seems to be done always as a group. But you are correct in that the Lord is always the focal point. Steve |

235 | Is baptism required for salvation? | NT general Archive 1 | srbaegon | 53154
Hello Rick_01 I agree with you that John 3 is tied to Ezek 36. To me, it's obvious. Steve |

236 | Events in Gospels in Chronological order | NT general Archive 1 | srbaegon | 58086
Hello Ray I admit there is disagreement over Mark and Luke as to which is more correct. I'm just going off of charts that others have done. Steve |
||||||
237 | Events in Gospels in Chronological order | NT general Archive 1 | srbaegon | 58091
Hello kalos There is no issue of inspiration. The word translated "consecutive" in NASB can also be translated "orderly" or "connected." So, more care was given to accuracy in the facts rather than the precise chronological order, although Luke did an great job in the chronology. Steve |

239 | Identifying the born again moment | NT general Archive 1 | srbaegon | 78161
Hello disciplerami Most curious. So when I was baptized at age 12 at my parents' command, that is when I was saved. And here all along, I thought it was when I believed at age 16. I guess the Holy Spirit wasted His time in convicting me, since I was already saved. Steve |
||||||
240 | Identifying the born again moment | NT general Archive 1 | srbaegon | 78375
Hello disciplerami Your skepticism is unwarranted. I made a definite decision to follow the Lord Jesus Christ in 1972. The fact that I was baptized three months later did nothing to change my standing before my Savior. Also, those on Pentecost were not convicted to be baptized for the remission of sin. They were convicted of sin, righteous, and judgement (John 16:8-11). Steve |
