1261 | WTB, Where do you see 144K is the church | Rev 14:1 | srbaegon | 138471
Hello WTB, I would rather state that redemption is according to the obedience of the redeemer, not the redeemed. The one for whom the price is paid is redeemed regardless of any obedience. There's no reason for me to push harder concerning any typology (or lack thereof) which might be present. One cannot be strictly literal in the verbage concerning defilement and virginity, but there can be debate as to where the line is drawn. Steve |

1263 | When is this reign? | Rev 19:14 | srbaegon | 44255
Hello Mommabps I know Rev 20:4-5 looks that way, but if you take all of Rev 20, there is a comparison between the "first resurrection" (where believers are reigning) and the next one at the great white throne where there is judging. I'm open to correction here. Steve |

1264 | When is this reign? | Rev 19:14 | srbaegon | 44289
Hello Mommapbs I did a quick look at the Study Bible at www.ccel.org. Darby and Gill say those on the thrones are believers (referring back to Daniel 7:9). I see judging as a part of reigning. Both commentators see two groups of people being mentioned--1) those on the thrones and 2) those who lost their lives in the tribulation. Steve Learned riding in vain? No, it just means you'll be better than I when the time comes. :-) |

1265 | When is this reign? | Rev 19:14 | srbaegon | 44295
So many questions. :-) The clothing is the tip. From what I can tell, only the saints are clothed this way. Steve |

1266 | reassurance of lambs book of life | Rev 20:15 | srbaegon | 118772
Hello Henry and Emmy, Each of the patriarchs you list (except Enoch) were spoken to directly by God. Scripture does not even say by the Holy Spirit, rather a "face-to-face" encounter. God revealed Himself to them in a special way which was recorded as Scripture. Therefore, their encounters were indeed Scripture for them. Steve |

1267 | reassurance of lambs book of life | Rev 20:15 | srbaegon | 118775
Hello Henry and Emmy, You said: "EVERYONE MEANS NO EXCEPTION, WHETHER ONE HAS ACCESS TO A BIBLE OR NOT.(MOST THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE NOT HAD ACCESS TO A BIBLE)" Access to a Bible is different than access to the gospel. Don't confuse the two. It's true that one can be born again without seeing a Bible, but only because someone has share the gospel with him. You say: "Anyone who calls on HIm through hearing his 'voice' or hearing His word will be saved." Not anyone, but the one who confesses that Jesus is Lord and believes in his heart that God has raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9). You say: "Christ was crucified, and through that event, ALL have opportunity to be saved, and receive Holy Spirit, if they call on Him." May I quote you from Romans 10:14? "How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?" Someone to share the gospel is a requirement for hearing. Steve |

1268 | reassurance of lambs book of life | Rev 20:15 | srbaegon | 118779
Hello Henry and Emmy, What you said was: "Hebrews 1:1 says that God can communicate in many ways." This is NOT what the passage says. It says that God communicated "unto the fathers by the prohets" in many ways. There's a huge difference there. Heb 1:1 is stating that God had different ways of communicating with the prohets, not with everyone else. You grouped all the patriarchs as recipients of the Holy Spirit's communication. Steve |

1269 | reassurance of lambs book of life | Rev 20:15 | srbaegon | 118890
Hello Henry and Emmy, You are taking the verses one by one instead of looking at the whole. What purpose does the quoted verse have? In the context of Romans 9-11, Paul is arguing that the Jews are without an excuse because God's word has gone out to them. This does not take away from the fact that: Romans 10:17 (ESV) So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ. It's not through creation or anything else. Steve |

1270 | reassurance of lambs book of life | Rev 20:15 | srbaegon | 118891
Hello Henry and Emmy, "He still communicates in different ways. eg. Christ, Holy Spirit, Dreams, speaking in tongues." Do you have Scripture to back your assertions? Steve |

1271 | reassurance of lambs book of life | Rev 20:15 | srbaegon | 118892
Hello Henry and Emmy, I can find verses that says creation declares God, but where is the Scripture that says that creation "has always been sufficient to make connection with God?" In every case I see in Scripture, God had to take pains to explicit state who He was and what was required. Steve |

1272 | Four Common Views of the End Times | Rev 21:2 | srbaegon | 190477
Hi Doc, Thanks for sharing this. Too bad Middleton didn't explain preterism just to round out the views. And after my own reading of some of the church fathers, historical pre-millenialism has merit. As for Dispies? Like comedian Norm Crosby used to say, "Hey! I resemble that remark." :-D Steve |

1273 | jcsav, Are the fearful believers? | Rev 21:8 | srbaegon | 142929
Hello jcsav, The fearful/cowardly could not be believers. The Greek word used is deilos which means cowardly or afraid. This word is never used of believers, only for unbelievers. Steve |

Hello kalos, I agree with you concerning 100 percent literal. There are some instances when a more literal translation is quite understandable and preferred. Steve |

Hello rabban, Don't wait too long. I see someone already gave Eccl 3:21 which also addresses the issue in the same way. Steve |
