21 | Who are the sons of God in Genesis 6:2? | Gen 6:2 | sdtaylor99 | 108038
Gen 6:2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. Concerning the sons of God; I have heard two different answers to this. First, the sons of God could be the sons of Seth, while the daughters of men are the offspring of Cain. Second, the sons of God were fallen angels that were looking upon the daughters of men. It seems to me that the second is a more accurate account. Is this right? |

22 | Did Jesus ever drink wine? | Not Specified | sdtaylor99 | 107943
Did Jesus ever drink wine? The only verse that I can come up with where it might insinuate that He did is the following: Mat 11:18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil. Mat 11:19 The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children. Is Jesus saying here that He did drink wine? And if He did was if fermented wine? |

24 | Thief on Cross discrepancy Mt vs Lk | Matt 27:44 | sdtaylor99 | 107870
I just heard a Preacher preach on this last night. He pointed out the fact the they were both malefactors. These were wicked criminals. All scripture is given by the inspiration of God, but the gospels are "according to" the person that wrote it through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. The Preacher that I heard pointed out that Luke gave a more descriptive detail of the event. Both malefactors were deriding Jesus. While one was saying "get down, get down," the other one got under conviction and realized that God had a plan for us though His Son, Jesus. He began to say, "stay up there, stay up there," and Jesus said, "Verily, verily," which means that He was saying, "Amen." I hope that this has been helpful to you. Keep growing in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. |

25 | Can women preach? | Luke 24:1 | sdtaylor99 | 107816
That depends on what you mean by "preach." Every believer is commanded to tell others about the grace of God. Mar 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. If you are talking about Pastoral type preaching, Paul tells Timothy to not let a woman have authority over a man and that the women were to learn in silence. He also refers it back to the beginning of time. 1Ti 2:11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. 1Ti 2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. 1Ti 2:13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve. 1Ti 2:14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. I have discussed this with a woman before that said she was a preacher. She said that the women that were to be silent were the married women, so that didn’t apply to her because she was single. I ran a reference using a concordance on prophetess and found that all of them, but one, were married. The one was not mentioned being married or not. I have more study to do on Prophetesses, but from my understanding, I don’t believe they were over a congregation. Paul wrote the instructions for the church, though the inspiration of the Holy Ghost, after Prophetess are mentioned, so I am not sure if Prophetess even apply to us now. Paul also told Timothy that a Bishop (Pastor) is to be the husband of one wife, which would rule out a woman. 1Ti 3:2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; I hope this has been helpful to you. Keep on growing in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. |

26 | What is a eunuch? | Not Specified | sdtaylor99 | 107728
Concerning eunuchs. Matthew 19:12 For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from [their] mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive [it], let him receive [it]. My understanding of a eunuch is one that has been castrated. Is this correct? And if so, is this verse talking about what I think it is talking about? I don’t want to get vulgar, so I hope you understand what I am talking about. Thank you for any replies. |

28 | WE ARE THE BRIDE OF CHRIST, WHERE IS IT? | Rev 21:9 | sdtaylor99 | 107660
These are the Words of Jesus. Mat 11:11 Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. John chapter three gives the account of being born again, then moves to John the Baptist being in Prison. Hear are the Words of John the Baptist. Jhn 3:28 Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him. Jhn 3:29 He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled. In the context, John the Baptist plainly says that we are the bride of Christ. Keep growing in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. God bless you. |
