21 | more help please, about mormons | John 14:6 | ariel levin | 225609
Has your mormon friend done his mission yet? If so, you've got a well-trained person on your hands. A mormon who has completed or is in the midst of their mission is very difficult to debate. Unless one is at least equally well-versed in the Word of God, they'll get you every time - they are prepared for just about any argument you can think of, except the one I'm about to suggest. This one method that can stop them in thier tracks will cost you time and research - look up several non-Messianic prophecies and show their fulfillment in secular sources, i.e. an historian or encyclopedia. Then look up several Messianic prophecies, along with those fulfillments, secular as well as biblical sources. Then ask your friend to do the same with his "bible." He won't be able to do it. (P.S. You can google biblical prophecy and Messianic prophecies, and you can probably find the secular citations of the fulfillments online as well.) (P.P.S. If nothing else, this exercise will edify yourself as you grow in the knowledge of the Scriptures.) |

22 | RIDING A CLOUD OR A WHITE HORSE? | Bible general Archive 4 | ariel levin | 225598
Mat 24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. |

23 | What is prayer, Where does it come from? | Matthew | ariel levin | 225550
Greetings Legsrandall, Why don't the two of you download Skype and have a good old fashioned Bible study, finding answers together. Aside from helping your sister out, it would make for a really nice bonding time for the two of you. Pen and paper (or email or even telephone) is good, but being able to talk and see each other in real-time is far better when it's something so important. |

24 | Noah entered the ark--exactly when? | Gen 7:1 | ariel levin | 225511
If a symbolic association is desired, I believe that the Hebrew word translated coffin at the end of Genesis is the same word used for Noah's ark. Now that holds some symbolism.
25 | Was he cut into at his death? | Is 53:5 | ariel levin | 225445
Lionheart, I don't know off the top of my head the reference (in Lev. I think), but it's usually noted as a divisor in the division captions of the Bible - check the ritual concerning the Law of Purification, it requires blood and running water....... |

28 | Moses appeared from where? | Matt 17:3 | ariel levin | 225368
Greetings drbloor If you must place this "vision" outside of reality then please tell me what you do with all the other "visions". The Buning Bush, the cutting of the covenant whilst Abraham was in a deep sleep, the Angel's staying of Abraham's hand over Isaac, the conversation of Zacharias concerning the conception and birht of John, the dove alighting on the Master's head in the water, the "vision" and conversation Paul had on the road to kill the believers, etc.? Were these along with so many others just figments of someone's imagination, just ruminations from someone with too much time on their hands? |

30 | what did jesus look like | John 6:15 | ariel levin | 225308
Brad, Isa. 53:2 gives us an idea of what He looked like (or maybe more correctly, what He didn't look like) and Rev. 1:12-17 gives a pretty good description of the Exalted One as He looks today. |

31 | is this gentiles? | 1 Pet 2:9 | ariel levin | 224996
Dear Catarm63, The answer to your question is both yes and no. Originally, God chose Abraham and his descendants to be His chosen, set-apart people, but they were not to be exclusive. From the very beginning Gentiles were welcome to join Israel and Israel was to be lights in the dark world. Sadly, they failed in this mission. But God has not thrown them away. Since the crucifixion and ascension the gospel has gone out to the Gentiles and now they are to be the lights (along with any Hebrew who trusts in God's Messiah). Gal 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. Gal 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. And in this way Paul's statement in Rom. 11:26, "...so all Israel shall be saved..." for all who trust in God's Messiah are the True Israel that Paul speaks of. |

32 | Ruling and Reigning | Gen 1:26 | ariel levin | 224983
Stjohn, I'm assuming this is to me? I saw it as I was reading down the page. r snf r was a typo, left hand fingers in the wrong place. It was supposed to be r and r (for ruling and reinging) because the software won't allow apersands. When asking a question it wouldn't be too wise of me to try to be mysterious (just a poor typist sometimes). Sorry. :o) Oh, and to respond to your question of why not both - doesn't the old earth get burned up to nothingness, or is it just to a crisp, to be useable sometime later maybe? |

33 | Ruling and Reigning | Gen 1:26 | ariel levin | 224977
Beja, I had the earth part down, (but in my human mind that really didn't seem like r snf r since it would not be cursed), but I had totally forgotten the angels part. TY! |

34 | Ruling and Reigning | Not Specified | ariel levin | 224971
Shalom everyone, First let me thank all who responded to my response regarding the New Heaven and New Earth (New Jerusalem included within). Here's another puzzler for me: If, accroding to NT all within New Jerusalem are believers and according to NT we (believers) are to rule and reign - OVER WHAT are we ruliing and reigning? Or is this just to mean during the millenial reign where I understand that many will be born of those left alive (believers at its instigation) that will NOT follow God's Ways? Thank you |

36 | What is "entering into God's rest?" | NT general | ariel levin | 224967
Beja and Inquisitor, shalom, Beja, thank you!! Inquisitor, I thank you for your efforts but no need for commentary. I have access to most, even including the Jewish sages' works. |

37 | What is "entering into God's rest?" | NT general | ariel levin | 224964
BradK, There seems to be a problem. What is the New Earth for or which is it, old heaven, for a new heaven certainly isn't necessary or New Earth? I'm not arguing, this is a valid question, for we are told both - but both can't be. Paul says one thing, John something else. |

38 | What is "entering into God's rest?" | NT general | ariel levin | 224961
Shalom Inquisitor, According to Revelation, it doesn't seem that heaven is our final destination, just a connecting bus ride. After a minute in heaven, we return to the old earth during the millenium or to the New Earth (which has its own New Heavens). We were created from the earth for the earth, we're not heavenly beings. In the Bible, God doesn't do things that are not necessary, so why would He create a New Earth when all we need is heaven? We're bound for the New Jerusalem on the New Earth!! (Or are you equationg heaven with that?) Thank you :o) |

39 | please explain proverbs 31:26 | Prov 31:26 | ariel levin | 224929
Shalom Garciann, Pro 31:26 When she opens her mouth, she speaks wisely; on her tongue is loving instruction. CJB Are you trying to read something super spiritual into chapter 31? Take it to mean what it says. Chapter 31 is simply painting a beautiful picture of a godly wife (woman/mother). |

40 | Do they who reign live 900 years? | Rev 20:1 | ariel levin | 224896
Doc, It was told me in a bible study as the OP got his information from. I didn't make any claims of the information being from the Bible proper or from a book, or that it was correct, just that a leader of a bible study shared this possibility. Since this was 20 some odd years ago I have no inclination to name all of the teachers I had back then. You wouldn't know them, they were local. |
