21 | Dreams ... Genesis-Revelation | Not Specified | Aileen | 228986
My daughter-in-law has a re-occuring dream (at least 2x a week) regarding the end of time. By fire. She was wondering if like Joseph ... could others (including herself) be being sent a message from GOD? She is pretty worked up about it because it happens so frequently and is always the same.

25 | Noah | Bible general Archive 4 | Aileen | 220438
Genesis 9:25 "Then he (Noah) cursed the descendants of Canaan, the son of Ham." What was Noah so mad about - because Ham saw him naked? Is that a sin to see a parent undressed? |

26 | Luke 5:15 - 16 | Bible general Archive 4 | Aileen | 220436
Luke 5:15 and 16 "But despite Jesus' instructions, the report of His (Jesus') power spread even faster, and vast crowds came to hear Him (Jesus) preach and to be healed of their deseases. But Jesus often withdrew to the wilderness to pray." Why did Jesus withdrawl from the crowds to the wilderness - I know to pray - but couldn't He (Jesus) have done that anywhere? Why did He (Jesus) have to withdrawl? |

Leviticus really answered my question "is[was] it a sin to see your parents undressed". The nail was hit right on the head with your question regarding the harshness. The Bible doesn't say that Ham "did anything" to his father ... just that he saw him. Which brings up a question now ...why did God curse Ham's decendants? They didn't do anything wrong. And for that matter, why are we today still paying for Adam and Eve's GREAT sin ... i.e., men will work by the sweat of their brow ... women will have pain in child birth? I know God is a loving God ... but why make decendants pay for something their silly ancestors did? Aileen

35 | Us | Gen 1:26 | Aileen | 220443
Genesis 11:7 "Come let's [let us] go down and give them different languages." Who is God speaking referring to when He says "us" ... Jesus? Angels? And, can I "assume" from now on that when God refers to an "us" that it is the same "us"? |

Thank you for your answer - It makes perfect sense. My questions are not homework assignments (I got a giggle out of that!). Although I look at myself as a "Student of the Bible" even though I am an older "Student" - I am a grandmother. I have never really read the Bible - this is my 1st time. The questions are my reading the bible - questioning something I have read - writing down the passage that I have the question about and then what my question is. I am not offended or anything like that ... I actually think it is pretty cool - you thought my questions were good enough to have been given by a teacher.
37 | Animals | Gen 9:4 | Aileen | 220462
Genesis 9:4 "But you must never eat animals that still have their life blood in them." What does this mean? Was it a particular species of animal? |
||||||
38 | Animals | Gen 9:4 | Aileen | 220484
Hey Steve. Ok, I guess. But all those rules were taken away in the New Testament, correct? Cuz, we eat meat ... or at least my family does and they (not me) like their meat cooked medium rare which means there is still some blood (eww) left in it. As for me - it better be burnt! I am not trying to be stupid (or seem that way) - I am just trying to understand and make sure that neither me nor my family are doing something against God's laws

Thanks Brad - I will read and get back with you if I have further questions. Aileen
