66 | Luke 9:27 | Luke 9:27 | Aileen | 220573
Luke 9:27 - From the NLT: "I tell you the truth, some standing here right now will not die before they see the Kingdom of God? Is this passage talking about "seeing the Kingdom of God" referring to the crucifiction and resurrection? If not, then what? Thanks, Aileen |

Luke 16:18 - NLT: For example, a man who divorces his wife and marries someone else commits adultery. And anyone who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery." I have been divorced twice and am now married (for the third and last time) to a wonderful man. I have asked for forgiveness for the first two divorces. Because of my past marriages, am I committing adultery in the sight of God? Aileen

71 | Revelation 20:15 | Revelation | Aileen | 220455
I have Jewish friends - quite a few of them. Who do not believe that Jesus was the Messiah-Son of God. I worry for them. One of the families lost their son (killed) in Iraq - he was 19. I know for a fact that he did not believe in Jesus. Also, I worry about my Mom ... she passed in 1989 and I know she knew who Jesus was. I believe she was mad at God and Jesus for having been left a widow at a very young age with 4 children to raise. She made us go to church with our Grandmother (her Mom) but she never went - she never spoke of God-Jesus-church nothing. On a brighter note - I love the forum - I am learning lots and thank each and everyone for their answers and helping me to understand the Scriptures. Blessings. Aileen
72 | Revelation 20:15 | Revelation | Aileen | 220483
Oh my CDBJ: You have got this biblically speaking illiterate person going "What"? Acts 16:31 (to me) is saying if you believe in the Lord (Jesus Christ) and ask to be saved - you and the members of your house will be saved, right? But does that mean that you believe that Jesus Christ is the Messiah-Son of God or just a really good prophet - that you will be saved? James 2:19 - I am really not quite sure. I know that the Bible tells us that satan and his followers know the scriptures too. Are we saying that as long as a person believes that there is a God that their name will be written in the Book of Life? If that is the case, then satan and his followers would have their names written in the Book of Life also (I'm assuming) because they believe know that God exists, right? They just don't want to follow His rules and abide by Him, correct? There we go ... I am confused again. See, it doesn't take much.

Thank you for your answer ... it is very good - but it still leaves me wondering about those people(s) who do not accept Jesus as their Savior - i.e., the people(s) of the Jewish faith who (to my understanding) think that Jesus was just a good prophet and not the Son of God and Savior. They haven't confessed Jesus as their Lord - they are still waiting for their Messiah. What happens to them? Especially the ones that have already died. Will they get a second chance (as it were) to redeem themselves and if so where does it say that in the bible? What about Atheist (don't know if that is the correct spelling)? Aileen

Hi CDBJ: Hmm. I would tell the Lord I have believed in Him all of my life. I have tried to do good to others and follow God's commandments. That I strayed as a young person but asked for forgiveness and His Word says that if I asked to be forgiven and truly repent that all my sins are forgiven and that I am Saved and will have eternal life with Him. And ... that I tried to instill all of this into my children and my children's children. Aileen |

Hey CDBJ: I was brought up going to church and fearing the Lord (literally). I accepted Jesus as my Savior about 16 years ago and was baptized (fully immersed) about 4 years ago. Is that what you were asking? Repent ... definition (Mine) truly sorry for what you have done, ask God for forgiveness and try to never do it (whatever the sin was) again. |
