Emmaus, PLEASE don't pay undue attention to the hideous, unChristlike comments offered you by comdudex. Your postings, as I have already told you, continue to provide a great help. YOUR answers have often been the exact ones I needed to read. Thank you!!! I appreciate your gentle spirit that often radiates through your words. You are quick to offer answers and back them up with Scripture and go the extra mile with providing extra places to obtain more detailed info. I hope you realize HOW much you are respected on this post. The extended time of your absence was obvious - again I say welcome back and keep them answers coming! Respectfully, TommyS |

22 | Does Deut. 24:1 still apply? | Deut 24:4 | TommyS | 106201
BJH, you wrote: “When we look at divorce, we must take into account all the passages that speak about it.” Well, Jeremiah 3:6 says, The Lord said to me, “Have you seen what fickle Israel does? Like a wife who commits adultery, Israel has worshipped other gods on every hill and under every green tree. (7) I thought that after she had done all this she would return to me. But she did not come back. And though her faithless sister Judah saw this, she paid no attention. She saw that I HAD DIVORCED FAITHLESS ISRAEL and sent her away.” GOD DIVORCED Israel AND sent her away. If divorce is wrong, does this mean that God did something wrong? And IF divorce IS sin, then what does that say about God's divorce? Deut. 24:1-4 doesn't say divorce is wrong. It says after you are divorced and your mate marries another, and that other one dies or has a divorce, the FIRST "couple" can't get married again to each other. Which tells us that God will never "remarry" Israel again. TommyS |

23 | Why does Israel use occult symbolism? | 1 Kin 11:6 | TommyS | 98196
Tom Thankyou for your input. I got on the internet and checked out some of what you comment on. Very interesting, to say the least. To answer your question "why", someone told me we get our word "hex" from the word hexagram, and I had recently read somewhere about Israel's flag being just that. Thanks again. TommyS |

24 | Why does Israel use occult symbolism? | 1 Kin 11:6 | TommyS | 98197
EdB, thank you for sharing what you feel about the flag. From my recent research I learned how and why they choice that as a flag. TommyS |

Taleb, thank you for going the extra mile with my question. Your answer gave me more ammuntion in my studies. TommyS P.S. Excuse me, but isn't "Taleb" Arabic for "student"? Just curious. Thanks again. |

26 | Where ARE the four corners of the earth? | Is 11:12 | TommyS | 105608
Taleb, thank you for taking the time to locate an answer for my question about the four corners. I don't subsribe to any science newsletters so I doubt if that was where I first read about it. How it came to mind was I was reading about the four corners in Rev. and that reminded me. And you are correct. Most of what science has "proven" has a Scripture verse that explains it. Like the moon influences on the ocean to make rain and things like that. Thanks again, TommyS |

27 | Where ARE the four corners of the earth? | Is 11:12 | TommyS | 105610
Makarios, sorry about that. I just now opened my e-mail and, lo and behold. Earlier this evening I came back to my computer, where the forum is on and happened to notice one from Taleb. I responded to his before I even knew you had dug up an answer. Taleb's was somewhat what I was looking for - in the "actual location" of the four corners of the earth. Very interesting, to say the least. While the info you provided is appreciated, I found it fascinating (is that spelled right?) that the earth actually does have four distinct corners. TommyS |

28 | Where ARE the four corners of the earth? | Is 11:12 | TommyS | 105766
I appreciate your comments, both on this topic and others involved with this forum. But, I must agree with Taleb. If you get a chance to read what he wrote, he never said anything about any box shape. He wrote to Hank about who discovered it and just because the bible doesn't say anything about man walking on the moon doesn't mean what we learned about that part of God's creation isn't valid information. Anyways, I somewhat received what I wanted to know, and appreciate what comments people have offered according to what they know or think. TommyS |

29 | Where ARE the four corners of the earth? | Is 11:12 | TommyS | 105905
Taleb, is it possible for you to give me a few more details about what you provided about the earth's four corners? Does the article explain HOW they were discovered. I would appreciate it if you could fill me in. It sounds as though most of the corners are in the ocean. Thank you. TommyS |

30 | Where ARE the four corners of the earth? | Is 11:12 | TommyS | 105988
Thank you Taleb for taking the time out of this busy season to share HOW the earth's corners were discovered. May God bless you abundantly for "going the extra mile". I'll be patient. :) TommyS |

31 | Where ARE the four corners of the earth? | Is 11:12 | TommyS | 106318
THANK YOU TALEB. When I mentioned about from your discription of where the four corners were, cause it seemed to basically be over the oceans, it caused me to wonder how in the world can there be such on water. Now, I don't only understand, I too am excited that John was inspired to write such a statement in Rev. And I also read what you wrote to Tim Moran. Thanks for giving me more than I hoped. WOW!!Blessings upon you, Taleb. TommyS |

32 | Christmas | Jer 10:1 | TommyS | 107084
Merry Christmas, Taleb Thanks for the informative info on Christmas. Yet ... You claim that it's obvious that pagans invented mens pants. I realize that some churches wrongly attribute the pagans for a lot of things that isn't exactly true, escpecially since Alexander Hislop's ramblings about such. I'll "bite". Please, pray tell, how so is the reasonings for pagans inventing pants obvious? Or was that statement with a tongue in your cheek? I'm sure glad that I get to wear pants in this cold winter wind. The kilt wearing days of mine ending when I was but a lad. TommyS |

33 | Which Hosea 11:12 is correct? | Hos 11:12 | TommyS | 110392
Kalos, thank you for your response. A preacher read that verse in his sermon and he used a different translation than I was using. I went home and checked it out with other translations and they all matched what mine said, not what he had stated. The problem is, it threw me such a "curve ball" that I failed to catch his point. 34 | What is the story of Luke's genology? | Matt 1:16 | TommyS | 110691
Thank you Taleb. Please don't go to any extra work. I looked quickly at Ex 23. Could you explain what you mean by the meanings of the names listed there explains WHY God didn't destroy them too quickly? Is it something besides what verse 29 states? TommyS |

35 | What is the story of Luke's genology? | Matt 1:16 | TommyS | 111875
Bless you, Taleb This is MORE than interesting. I wonder if Matthew's genealogy tells a different "story", seeing from David to Jesus it goes through a different "branch". Just imagine. It's a miracle in itself that all of Jesus' descendent's names came in that certain order to spell out what it does. Amazing!! Appreciate the time it took. TommyS |

36 | Why did Jesus MAKE John Baptize Him? | Matt 3:15 | TommyS | 102825
Hello, BradK I also saw it as "interesting" considering Jesus needed no purification. Now that you mentioned it, I recall another such instance. (Luke 2:22b-25) Mary and Joseph brought Jesus to Jerusalem to "present Him to the Lord, (as it is written in the Law of the Lord, "Every firstborn male is to be consecrated to the Lord") and to offer a sacrifice in keeping with what is said in the Law of the Lord: "a pair of doves or two young pigeons". Wow, thank you sir! TommyS |

37 | Is Jesus "least" in kingdom of heaven? | Matt 11:11 | TommyS | 109780
Makarios, thank you responding so quickly. I'm sorry, if I seem dense - but You stated that you believe "that we can plainly see that John the Baptist is who Jesus is speaking of when He says, "Truly, I say to you, among those born of women there has arisen no one greater than John the Baptist. Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he." [ESV] My question took that verse into complete consideration. Jesus IS speaking of John when He stated "there has arisen no one greater than John the Baptist". I agree. BUT, how could Jesus also mean John who is the LEAST in the kingdom - IF, among those born of women there has arisn NO ONE GREATER than John the Baptist? I recongize that there is NO other name under heaven whereby we must saved. And Jesus' name is abouve all other names. And His shed blood, death and resurrection is vital for our salvation. Do you understand what I am trying to ask? Is John the Baptist BOTH the greatest born of women, AND the least in the kingdom of heaven? TommyS |

38 | Is Jesus "least" in kingdom of heaven? | Matt 11:11 | TommyS | 109782
Emmaus, WOW. I think I understand what you mean. What you shared really makes sense to me. I'll dig into those two verses you shared. Thank you, sir! TommyS |

39 | Is Jesus "least" in kingdom of heaven? | Matt 11:11 | TommyS | 109801
Makarios, you are confirming our brother in Christ, Emmaus. When I read that verse it was like - hey, wait a minute. I appreciate your going the extra mile with your second response. Thank you. TommyS |

40 | Did John the Baptist eat fruit or bugs? | Mark 1:6 | TommyS | 101110
Thank you for taking the time to check out some verses for me. Even though the "Locust-Bugs" ARE kosher, ALL FRUIT is also. Anyway, the Palestian guy that was with us, pointed out the fruit, and mentioned it grows where John the Baptist ministered. Was just curious, even though "I still don't know" - I don't HAVE to know either if it really was bugs or fruit. :) In college, I tried canned grasshoppers dipped in chocolate, and can't say I enjoyed them - anymore than I "enjoyed" the fruit off a locust tree. Thanks again. TommyS |
