61 | How "mature" in Christ are we today? | 1 Cor 3:1 | TommyS | 111141
CDBJ, I got myself distracted last evening after reading your response to my question. I apologize. What caught my attention the MOST of your note, was your comment - "it has to be 100 percent of one or the other. Either filled with the Spirit or controlled by your old sin nature; it can’t be a little of each at any particular moment in a believers life." Like what EdB, and terrib wrote, your words are timely. Thank you for giving so much of your time to help me make better use of mine. TommyS |

62 | Will you change your mind? | 2 Tim 2:23 | TommyS | 96323
Radioman2, sorry ‘bout this, dear friend in Christ Jesus our Lord, but you are wrong in your conclusion, "Muhammad (prophet) (570?-632), founder of Islam" Muhammad lived from approx. 570 AD to 632 AD, approximately 2,400 years after Abraham. Abraham lived from 2100 BC to 1880 BC. So how could Abraham be a Muslim when Islam wasn't even founded until more than 2,000 years after he lived? This is not rocket science. I know 9-year-olds who could figure this one out,” If you WERE to talk to any Muslim, that Muslim would quickly inform you that Adam and Eve, Noah, Moses, Abraham, Isaac, Jesus etc. WERE all Muslim. They understand the concept that "Being a Muslim" merely means “one who is submitted to God". So, if any would ask me if Abraham was a Muslim, I would reply, “I honestly believe that Abraham WAS SUBMITTED to God.” For sure we know that Abraham WASN’T a Christian, correct? As a matter of fact, anyone who works in the “Muslim world”, be it here in the States, or abroad, would hardly ever “confess to being a Christian”. A follower of the teachings of Isa, (Jesus), might, for instance, hold up the Scriptures and merely state, “I obey what this says, as the Koran instructs everyone should. Do you obey it too?” “Christians” are who slaughtered Muslims during the crusades. America is a “Christian nation” and their soap operas are about American families, so that means that “Christian families” mess around, drink, lie, cheat, etc. etc. Besides, non-believers first used the term “Christian” to separate themselves from believers. Because Christian means “small Christ” – and one can’t be one without being submitted to God (Muslim), and both conger up “false conceptions”, why use either label? Why not merely live our lives so others can see and believe? I appreciate reading through some of the threads in which you have made some profound, spirit inspired comments. Thank you. TommyS Speaking of "dumb questions" - I once asked an wrinkled old man sitting on his rocker on a porch in front of a small town cafe, "Have you lived in this town all your life?" He removed his pipe from his toothless mouth and replied, "Not yet." |

63 | Which chapters in Job ARE NOT true? | 2 Tim 3:16 | TommyS | 99456
Thank you BradK for taking the extra time to locate what easton's dictionary says. Perhaps I should have phrased my question better. What I was looking for was that portion that Tom mentioned. I should have asked which chapters in Job aren't correct. Thanks again. TommyS |

67 | How can I answer Jehovah Witnesses? | 1 Pet 3:15 | TommyS | 107283
Happy Holidays to you, Mrs. B. What a treasure. What a gift, you and others have presented to me - any to others who read your God-inspired answer. Seeking HIM first - will add all these things (answers, questions, responses, love, understanding, patience, etc. ) so I CAN be a witness to "Witnesses". Now I have a better understanding of what "Joy unspeakable and full of His Glory "feels like". It feels like I feel. TommyS |
