21 | What about the woman at the well in Jn 4 | John 4:18 | TommyS | 110155
Emmaus, I'm not sure WHICH email address is yours. Could you please advise this computer illiterate. :) And, please be patient with my response, because as the week-end quickly approaches, I start "running here and yon". TommyS |

22 | What about the woman at the well in Jn 4 | John 4:18 | TommyS | 110094
Ray, your interesting and inspiring imput into the subject tied in nicely with Emmaus'. It provides much great insight. I appreciate your sharing those interesting details. Thank you. Who would have thought that a simple question could have so much insight into the heart and nature of our Lord? Like I asked Emmaus, WHY aren't more preachers sharing this exceptional teaching material with their congregations? Why do so many only teach from that shallow concept of the immoral woman's "trying to change the subject". Although, it has been a few years since I heard it, because we changed churchs. On a side note, after checking my e-mail and seeing nothing new, I opened studybible and there was your posting. Strange - I wonder why yours never "showed" on my e-mail? For that matter, Emmaus' two from last night never did either. TommyS |

23 | What about the woman at the well in Jn 4 | John 4:18 | TommyS | 110038
Emmaus, pray tell, with all the times I have heard a sermon concerning the "woman at the well", HOW come I have never heard a message such as you just presented to the world? Thank you, Emmaus, for ONCE again going above and beyond the extra mile. I am truly grateful for the additional imput. IF I were a pastor, I know what the next six of so sermons would cover. :) That is a lot of meat. I am going to print that out and stick it in my Bible to munch on for awhile. Thanks for the "delicious" spiritual feast. TommyS |

24 | What about the woman at the well in Jn 4 | John 4:18 | TommyS | 110034
Thank you Emmaus. You were correct - I DID find it interesting. Thank you for giving US ALL an opportunity for a better understanding of HIS mercy and grace and love. One thing that really stuck out to me in John 4 was how quickly so many from her village accepted our Lord as theirs. I appreciate your imput on SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many topics, whether mine or someone elses. Thanks "for returning yourself" to us. :) TommyS |

25 | What about the woman at the well in Jn 4 | John 4:18 | TommyS | 110030
Thank you, KCPRAYS, for attempting to answer my question. You added, "Further, it was considered improper by the Jews for a rabbi to speak to a woman in public, whether she was immoral or not", YET it was Jesus who first spoke to her in asking her for a drink. The reason I asked this is because I noted that as soon as she returned to town to get others to come see if the messiah was at the well, and how quickly they believed her, led me to believe the town folk MUST have "trusted" her to be a "truthful" woman. I never heard of a "truthful" immoral person. I was only wondering if anyone else "felt" the same way. TommyS |

27 | Is Jesus "least" in kingdom of heaven? | Matt 11:11 | TommyS | 109801
Makarios, you are confirming our brother in Christ, Emmaus. When I read that verse it was like - hey, wait a minute. I appreciate your going the extra mile with your second response. Thank you. TommyS |

28 | Is Jesus "least" in kingdom of heaven? | Matt 11:11 | TommyS | 109782
Emmaus, WOW. I think I understand what you mean. What you shared really makes sense to me. I'll dig into those two verses you shared. Thank you, sir! TommyS |

29 | Is Jesus "least" in kingdom of heaven? | Matt 11:11 | TommyS | 109780
Makarios, thank you responding so quickly. I'm sorry, if I seem dense - but You stated that you believe "that we can plainly see that John the Baptist is who Jesus is speaking of when He says, "Truly, I say to you, among those born of women there has arisen no one greater than John the Baptist. Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he." [ESV] My question took that verse into complete consideration. Jesus IS speaking of John when He stated "there has arisen no one greater than John the Baptist". I agree. BUT, how could Jesus also mean John who is the LEAST in the kingdom - IF, among those born of women there has arisn NO ONE GREATER than John the Baptist? I recongize that there is NO other name under heaven whereby we must saved. And Jesus' name is abouve all other names. And His shed blood, death and resurrection is vital for our salvation. Do you understand what I am trying to ask? Is John the Baptist BOTH the greatest born of women, AND the least in the kingdom of heaven? TommyS |

32 | How can I answer Jehovah Witnesses? | 1 Pet 3:15 | TommyS | 107283
Happy Holidays to you, Mrs. B. What a treasure. What a gift, you and others have presented to me - any to others who read your God-inspired answer. Seeking HIM first - will add all these things (answers, questions, responses, love, understanding, patience, etc. ) so I CAN be a witness to "Witnesses". Now I have a better understanding of what "Joy unspeakable and full of His Glory "feels like". It feels like I feel. TommyS |

34 | Christmas | Jer 10:1 | TommyS | 107084
Merry Christmas, Taleb Thanks for the informative info on Christmas. Yet ... You claim that it's obvious that pagans invented mens pants. I realize that some churches wrongly attribute the pagans for a lot of things that isn't exactly true, escpecially since Alexander Hislop's ramblings about such. I'll "bite". Please, pray tell, how so is the reasonings for pagans inventing pants obvious? Or was that statement with a tongue in your cheek? I'm sure glad that I get to wear pants in this cold winter wind. The kilt wearing days of mine ending when I was but a lad. TommyS |

35 | What scientific discoveries match Bible? | Bible general Archive 2 | TommyS | 106671
Hank, I am so sorry. Please forgive me. I recall my military uncle saying, "Having a ligitimate reason is NO EXCUSE for bad behavior." Well, I must confess - I don't even have an "illigitimate reason", and certainly NO EXCUSE, for neglecting to acknowledge your well thought out answer to my question from last Friday. It was very inconsiderate of me not to have acknowledged the helpful information you provided when I "received it" last weekend. For the effort, time and willingness it took you to list those Bible believing scientists - THANK YOU! Some names you provided I recognized, too many I have no idea. I'll check them out. That site, www.icr.org, is a treasure house. Thank you for the wonderful Christmas gift, via that info. Blessings upon you and yours, TommyS |

36 | Where ARE the four corners of the earth? | Is 11:12 | TommyS | 106318
THANK YOU TALEB. When I mentioned about from your discription of where the four corners were, cause it seemed to basically be over the oceans, it caused me to wonder how in the world can there be such on water. Now, I don't only understand, I too am excited that John was inspired to write such a statement in Rev. And I also read what you wrote to Tim Moran. Thanks for giving me more than I hoped. WOW!!Blessings upon you, Taleb. TommyS |

37 | Does Deut. 24:1 still apply? | Deut 24:4 | TommyS | 106201
BJH, you wrote: “When we look at divorce, we must take into account all the passages that speak about it.” Well, Jeremiah 3:6 says, The Lord said to me, “Have you seen what fickle Israel does? Like a wife who commits adultery, Israel has worshipped other gods on every hill and under every green tree. (7) I thought that after she had done all this she would return to me. But she did not come back. And though her faithless sister Judah saw this, she paid no attention. She saw that I HAD DIVORCED FAITHLESS ISRAEL and sent her away.” GOD DIVORCED Israel AND sent her away. If divorce is wrong, does this mean that God did something wrong? And IF divorce IS sin, then what does that say about God's divorce? Deut. 24:1-4 doesn't say divorce is wrong. It says after you are divorced and your mate marries another, and that other one dies or has a divorce, the FIRST "couple" can't get married again to each other. Which tells us that God will never "remarry" Israel again. TommyS |

Thank you Taleb for taking the time out of this busy season to share HOW the earth's corners were discovered. May God bless you abundantly for "going the extra mile". I'll be patient. :) TommyS |

39 | Where ARE the four corners of the earth? | Is 11:12 | TommyS | 105905
Taleb, is it possible for you to give me a few more details about what you provided about the earth's four corners? Does the article explain HOW they were discovered. I would appreciate it if you could fill me in. It sounds as though most of the corners are in the ocean. Thank you. TommyS |

40 | Where ARE the four corners of the earth? | Is 11:12 | TommyS | 105766
I appreciate your comments, both on this topic and others involved with this forum. But, I must agree with Taleb. If you get a chance to read what he wrote, he never said anything about any box shape. He wrote to Hank about who discovered it and just because the bible doesn't say anything about man walking on the moon doesn't mean what we learned about that part of God's creation isn't valid information. Anyways, I somewhat received what I wanted to know, and appreciate what comments people have offered according to what they know or think. TommyS |
