21 | where to look next time? | 1 Cor 6:18 | TheCurtMan | 99591
And that is one of the reasons why I was studying it. A careful investigation of a number of their resources will show that on occasions, somewhere, somebody messes up and the truth actually gets out. It's kinda like looking for one needle in several haystacks. |

23 | Why did Eve orginally leave the garden? | Gen 3:1 | TheCurtMan | 99492
I’ve read this time and time again- Note: Emmaus, wow – you responded to both of my questions from last night. Thank you. Your response to my concept of Eve being outside the garden is understandable. Too often we hear a sermon from some rushed priest or preacher and take it for gospel. Another preacher adds his or her two-bits and pretty soon we have a “doctrine” that doesn’t fit Scripture. When I read His Word, I pay attention to ALL the words, not just the verbs and nouns. In that portion of Scripture, Eve and the serpent are talking about the tree which IS IN THE MIDST of the garden. IF they were standing in the garden, and in particular, next to the tree being discussed, they wouldn’t be making reference “to the tree in the midst of the garden”. They would be making references to “this tree”. It was later that Eve saw that the fruit looked good to eat. And Adam was with her at that time. The four letter word WHEN she saw – tells me that a period of time had transpired since the serpent and she had had their little conversation. Many such words fill that story to prove my point. So I am wondering the same thing still about Eve being where she shouldn’t have been. But I do appreciate your imput, Emmaus. I can’t conceive a reason why Eve would be outside the garden in the first place. Everything she needed was in the garden. Why go outside the garden?? I figured since this is something that you’ve probably considered long before I, that you might have a possible reason. Could the satisfaction of curiosity be sin?? If this was the case with Eve, then it deffinantly led to sin. And why would one want to satisfy self in a state of perfection?? The more that I think about Eve having this conversation outside of the garden, the more questions I come up with. The CurtMan |

24 | Comfort Zone? | Num 28:11 | TheCurtMan | 98942
VerticalRelationship, I totally agree with much of what you have said. We Christians are so bombarded with sin on a daily basis, that a lot of times it nolonger have the effect on us that it should. I believe this is wrong. I live in a real bad section of town. About a couple of months ago, I was coming home from work. I commute on public transportation. I got off the bus and one of the first things I noticed was a dead body lying in the street. He had just been shot in the face. The authorities were just arriving, so I walked around the body and went home. I gave no thought of the individual. No thought of his family, and absolutely no thought of his spiritual relationship with God, if it was any. Later the Holy Spirit convicted me of all this. My excuse, as lame as it was, I’m surrounded by death. I turn on the News to find that someone died. I come home to find that someone has died. The same is true in the Newspaper. My conscience has become deaden to something that I should have concern over. If we’re not consciously concern about the plight of others, how are we supposed to act accordingly?? DO NOT BECOME INSENSITIVE TO ERROR!! That can and will evoke a Spiritual Lesson from your Spiritual Teacher, and I can testify to that one. The CurtMan |

25 | Comfort Zone? | Num 28:11 | TheCurtMan | 98938
The fight is not easy, and it lasts a lifetime. If you don’t mind me asking, how long have you been running this race?? What I’ve notice about this Comfort Zone is that it is not a place for New Christians. My personal experience has shown me that if evangelizing the entire world were possible within a few hours, then it would probably be a New Christian that would get the job done. Upon conversion, New Christians are Gong Ho for the Lord. They have a fire within them for the things of the Lord that I find amazing. It is after being in this fight for awhile, after running this race for awhile that I notice that a Comfort Zone become more of a possibility then at the forefront. I’m not saying that all Older Christians fall into this trap, but it is something that I believe that all Older Christians have to contend with, like any other sin. In Eph. 6, I’m under the impression that when Paul was talking about the Armor of God, he was speaking in military terms that gave the impression that as solders, we are suppose to dig a trench, get in it, and fight to keep the ground that we have gained. Never giving up; Never loosing the ground; and NEVER turning our back on our enemy. In this type of fight, there is absolutely no room for a Comfort Zone. It takes strength from God, courage from God, and complete dependence on God. If you’re fighting this kind of fight, then keep it up. You’re not alone. You have many other soldiers fighting with you. I have a T-shirt that says, “Keep working for the Lord. The pay may be lousy, but the Retirement Benefits are out of this world.” The CurtMan |

26 | Are we ready? | 2 Tim 4:2 | TheCurtMan | 98243
How might we recognize a comfort zone? Could it be found in our tolerance of sin in our midst? Perhaps complacency? How about routine in our worship or devotional life - might this obscure the small still voice calling us to another place? For me I believe that a Comfort Zone is the inability to be bothered with something that is going to add extra inconveniences and stress to our daily routine. No one really likes to be inconvenienced. Yes; I believe that it can be found in our tolerance of sin. We as Christians are so bombarded by sin on a daily basis, that it nolonger affect us to the degree that it should. Whenever I turn on the news, I listen about the death of someone. At one time where I might have been sadden by the incident, now unless it’s someone I know, it nolonger phases me. I know it’s not right but that’s the way it is. And yes I believe that it can also be through complacency as well as through routine in worship. But I also believe that we are beyond the point of pondering it, we are at the point of taking action, collectively, as one body. Unfortunately this is easier said than done. The CurtMan |

28 | were angels saved by works? | 2 Pet 2:4 | TheCurtMan | 97459
I have a hard time grasping the idea that a third of the heavenly host was inherently liable to rebel while the rest were inherently loyal. (of course I have a similar problem with fallen man). Greetings John, This statement put into words a problem that I had and could not put into words. Thanks. I totally agree with you on this one. The CurtMan |

29 | the angels that sinned | 2 Pet 2:4 | TheCurtMan | 97449
Greetings Makarios, I will mediate on the things you've said. Thanks I just can't help but to feel that at one time they had this "Freedom of Choice", misused it, and then had it stripped from them. It's not like God didn't know what was going to happen. That in itself leaves me with a dozen of other questions, like for one: Why give it to them in the first place?? Did all this take place before God called everything in the garden 'good'?? I realize that God's ways are as high above our ways as the Heavens are above the Earth, but that doesn't stop me from having a number of questions. Nevertheless, thanks again. The CurtMan |

30 | the angels that sinned | 2 Pet 2:4 | TheCurtMan | 97368
Makarios, Good Morning. Sorry it took me so long to respond to you but I’ve had a very interesting weekend. A friend of mind gave me a Dell. V.D.T; C.P.U; Printer, the whole nine yards. I took the system home and sat it in the middle of my Living Room until I was ready for it. Two hours later my ceiling wrapped itself around it. It came down like a ton of bricks. Missed me by maybe four or five inches. I looked at my system, looked in the mirror, then looked at my wife and told her better the computer than me. Praise God I’m able to walk around and joke about it. So now I’m back to square one, systemless. I’ve read the scriptures provided by you to New Creature and I fail to see the basis for this belief, what am I missing?? I’ve always been under the impression that God did not want mindless followers, but those who followed Him by choice, is that not a principle that can be seen in John 3:16 and 18?? Didn’t Isaiah say something like, “choose this day whom you will follow”?? The Lords Prayer in Matt. 6:10 indicate that God’s will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. If His will in Heaven is to strip the angles of their freedom of choice, then why do I wrestle with sin?? This is how I see it. If I’m wrong, you mind showing me my error?? The CurtMan |

31 | the angels that sinned | 2 Pet 2:4 | TheCurtMan | 96821
Greetings Makarios, I was wondering if you'd explain something to me, this is a line in your post, "If you are wondering whether God's angels can still "fall" today, the answer is no. Following the massive angelic revolt, God "elected" or permanently confirmed the holiness of the angels who chose to remain loyal to Him (1 Timothy 5:21)." Is this an indication that angles today do not have the freedom of choice that Lucifer and other angles had at one time?? The CurtMan |

32 | once save always saved? | Revelation | TheCurtMan | 96594
Hey Fran1946, Got a question for you. Actually I have a few questions. Is it possible to know the Word of God without it having any perminate effects in our lives?? “You searched the scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me; 40. And you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life.” John 5:39-40. Now here’s a group of people that thought that they had eternal life through bible study, but Jesus let them know that was not the case. So is it possible to be aware of the Word of God and it not have a perminate effect in our lives?? If this is possible, then I believe that 2 Peter 2:20-22 is referring to this same type of person. I believe that Peter is speaking of a person who has learned about Christ and how to be saved and has quite possibly been positively influenced by christians. This person has then rejected the truth and returned to his or her sinful state. According to v.21, they are worst of then before, because they have rejected the ONLY way out of sin. How do you interpret John 10:27-29?? “My sheep hear My voice and I know them, and they follow Me; 28 and I give eternal life to them, and they WILL NEVER PERISH; and NO ONE will snatch them out of My hand. 29. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.” Now if I’m interpreting your understanding correctly to imply that salvation can be lost, then does it not appear that Jesus has spoken incorrectly in this verse. If we can lose our salvation, the some of us WILL PERISH, and someone HAS plucked us out of the hands of the Father, the individual themselves. It also appears that Romans 8:1, “Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus”, is incorrect. I personally do not believe all this, but if losing one’s salvation is a possibility, then there are a number of scriptures that tends to give misleading indications. What’s your take on all of this?? The CurtMan |

Brother Hank, Unbeknown to you, you played a small part in helping me to maintain my part-time job, and my integrity. Thank-you. Today I ran into a certain set of circumstances that ruffled my feathers to no end. I had gotten to the point where I was ready to walk off my job. My sudden departure would have left my supervisor in a real sticky situation. I would have been terminated on Monday for Job Abandonment. I had just about made up my mind on my course of action when I suddenly remembered, of all things, this question of yours and my reply. That started a chain reaction in my thinking process. I started thinking more in detail about ‘longsuffering' and ‘patience'. I then started quoting my memory verses, some of which includes; I Cor. 13:1-13, I Cor. 15:57-58, and Col. 3:12-14. By the time I was finished I was able to see more clearly. What I saw was that I allowed the adversary to get me so hot under the collar, I almost jeopardized my part-time job and my christian integrity. God could have used any avenue of things to get my thinking process on the right track, what He decided to use was a question posted by you. The CurtMan |

Gbt1997oct, I’m really rather curious to know why you feel you have to result to deceitfulness to get your point across. In your mind you don’t think that you’re degrading the very beliefs you’re trying to convince others of?? Are you a true Mormon?? Are you aware that if anyone was actually thinking about joining the LDS and caught wind of your actions on this forum that it may have an effect on their decision?? A true believer would actually care about something like that, do you?? To a degree your deceitfulness can be used for good. Try this one on for size. You stated that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, but of all of the prophets that are mentioned in the bible, none of them resulted to deceitfulness to get their point across. In this particular case, the only prophet that I am aware of that did result to deceitfulness to get his point across was Joseph Smith. For this very reason he could not be a Prophet of God. A False Prophet, yes, but a True Prophet no. And your actions on this forum have proven to be just as underhanded and deceiving as his. Jesus said something to the affect of, “A good tree can not bear bad fruit, and a bad tree can not bear good fruit” Matt. 7:15-20 What exactly is your interpretation of that verse?? The CurtMan |

38 | Given the chance to repent | Num 4:15 | TheCurtMan | 94474
You don’t think that we’re slightly off track with the original topic? Fact 1. Adam and Eve hid from God because of their broken relationship with God. Gen. 3:8 Fact 2. Uzzah was killed immediately before he had the chance to repent due to a law of God that was in place well before he touched the Ark. II Sam. 6:7 and Num. 4:15. Fact 3. You still have not answered my original question. Do you think that good intentions should supercede the laws of God?? II Sam. 6:6 I happen to believe that just because the law wasn’t given until later, that there are a number of things about the law that the Israelites understood before hand. For example: Where was the law indicating Forgiveness when Joseph forgave his brothers? Gen. 50:19-21 Where was the law indicating Firstfruits, and or giving your best unto God when Able gave his gift to God? Gen. 4:4. Where was the law concerning Murder when Cain killed his brother? Gen. 4:8 And if Cain didn’t do anything wrong by killing his brother because there was no law, then why try and deceive God about it? Gen. 4:9 The Tree of Knowledge of good and evil that Adam and Eve ate from gave them the knowledge of good and evil. Can you honestly tell me to what degree did their knowledge extended to?? And Yes I will tell you that there is spiritual teaching in Gen. 3. You quoted verses 16-19, but you over looked 15. What are the indications of that verse?? What did God mean when He indicated that the woman’s seed would bruise the serpent’s head?? Better still, what are the implications of II Tim. 3:16?? Maybe you didn’t mean what you said about no spiritual teaching there, but if you did, there IS spiritual teaching there if you were to combine it with other parts of scripture The CurtMan |

39 | Can Satan know our thoughts? | Rom 12:2 | TheCurtMan | 94394
I have a question, something that I'm not quite clear on. Are you saying that satan knows a part of our mind because he's the one that placed the bad thoughts there? "Satan can only get at your mind. Remeber sin first starts with a thought, and that thought then the action. Satan knows that thought, he is the one that puts it there" Or are you saying that he knows our mind completely? "Satan does know your thoughts" I think that maybe you are refering to the first question, and indicating that he knows a part of our mind. Do you think that you could be a little more clearer?? |
