21 | How do we "glorify God" in our body? | 1 Cor 6:20 | tortoise | 112818
Hi mommapbs, Ray's answer is certainly part of the answer. Well, a really big and important part. Loving one another is like really important. But, is there more? Rom 12:1 I APPEAL to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship. Does this verse say that the Lord can send us anywhere He wants? Are we listening? Are we ready to pay the price? Maybe, not until we are ready to die for Him are we ready to live for Him. "Speak Lord, your servant is listening". 1 Sam 3:10, Cliff J. P.S I liked your profile, thanks for sharing. |

22 | what is right and wrong in the marraige | 1 Cor 7:5 | tortoise | 114407
Hi Easter30, Rom 1 is referring to same sex relationships which are always wrong. You and your spouse are to be available for each exclusively. 1 Cor 7:5 says, "Stop depriving one another, except by agreement for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer, and come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control." If pornography is involved that person is deriving something sexually from it that they should be getting from the marriage partner. Your mate should love you, and part of that is to respect how YOU feel. If you don't like something then they should limit themselves to something you ARE comfortable with and not force you. Rom 14:23 says, "and whatever is not from faith is sin". But I don't know of anything that is forbidden between a husband and a wife. Absolutely you have a right to feel jealous. Pornography is a real problem with some people (mostly men but sometimes women too). It can be like an adiction and be very hard to give up. If they don't or won't stop you might need to get help from a third party like a counselor or pastor. A book you can give to a guy would be "Every Man's Battle", I think it is by Henry Cloud. tortoise |

23 | Self-Esteem | 2 Cor 5:17 | tortoise | 114367
Also Gal 2:20, "I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me." Also, 1 John 3:1, See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him." Also please see my testimony. |

24 | Is habitualy working out acceptable? | Gal 5:13 | tortoise | 112614
I suppose it is better than watching TV. But what do you mean by habitually? Like 6 days a week for 2 hours a day? I work out 5-6 days a week for maybe 45 minutes. I am trying at to least stay in good shape. But I think of the summer on the boardwalk in NJ with all the people struting their stuff. I think if it is all about me and how great I look it can become a little ego-centric. I tend to go that way myself and have to draw a line and tell myself that enough is enough.
25 | What does this verse mean? | Phil 4:7 | tortoise | 114330
Hi realmenlovejesus, Phil 4:19 And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. All your needs now: food, clothing, fellowship, God's love and comfort and fellowship, with persection. We will trust him for the transition. Enjoying God and his presence for all eterniy. We can't even to begin to imagine what he has planned for us. God is good and he is in control so we win. "O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR VICTORY? O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR STING?" The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law; but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Cor 15:55-57 tortoise |

26 | The MacArthur study Bible | Col 2:2 | tortoise | 114871
Hi leonore, Yes, MacArthur, who is still living, has written a study Bible. And he definitely has a certain denominationaly perspective, which is Reformed and it is all very complicated. The best thing I have found is to ask the indwelling Holy Spirit to teach you the meaning of the passage you are studying. John 16:13 says, "But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come." God bless, tortoise |

27 | If it's ONLY foreplay is it still wrong? | 1 Thess 4:3 | tortoise | 112075
Tator Bug, Searcher gave you a good answer. In my Bible I have the following passages underlined in 1 Thes 4:1-8. "ought to walk and please God" v1, "possess his own vessel in sancification and honor" v4, "not in passion of lust like the Gentiles" v5. "For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness" v7. Is what you want to do uncleanness or holiness? That is my only question. A single guy. |

28 | Is it wrong to have a passionate kiss? | 1 Thess 4:5 | tortoise | 112084
Tator Bug, Can you both show affection without arousing each other? If you do nothing to arouse each other you will be OK. If either of you get aroused you are going too far and should STOP. 1 Thes 4:4-5 appears to be God's standard for this situation. I believe that following God's will for me is really for my best interest. Do you feel that way too? A single guy. |

29 | punishment | 1 Pet 5:5 | tortoise | 111878
How about how Jonah got himself into trouble for blowing off God. Look at 1 Peter 5:5 in Amplified version. I think maybe pride is the worst most detestable sin. Look how God moves against it. I think God's love towards us is always active. He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion. Phil 1:6
