27 | Can't find this verse! | Heb 10:16 | terrib | 152260
Hello Diomede, Two verses come to mind: (Romans 1:19 NASB) because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. (Hebrews 10:16 KJV) This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; (see Jer 31:33-34) terrib |

28 | Matthew's genealogy of Josef, not Jesus | Matthew | terrib | 152246
Hi Olivier456, To expand on Tim's answer, consider this: The Generations of Jesus: The legal: Joseph The Gospel of Matthew was written by Matthew (also called Levi [Mar 2:14]) a Jew. The Seed line: Mary The Gospel of Luke was written by Luke the physican (a Greek and a Gentile). Paul does not count him among the circumsion (Col 4:14). The parent stock of the whole human family, thus showing Jesus to be the promised “Seed of the woman" and the promised seed of Abraham. (Genesis 3:15 KJV) And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.[note: "her seed"] And the promise of the "seed of Abraham": (Galatians 3:16 KJV) Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. [note: "thy seed"](Ref. Gen 22:18) Therefore the lineage of Joseph AND Mary both came through Abraham which came through Adam and satisfing the promises. Thus proving that Jesus was of the stock and "promise" to Abraham, legally (Joseph) and physically (Mary). Hope this helps, terrib |

30 | So what is your answer, yes or no. | Rom 2:14 | terrib | 151926
Greetings Otis, Putting it in the small context of your question, "does that person go to hell for not accepting Jesus?" Jesus said, You must be born again. He was talking to those in range to hear Him. In your senario, they are out of range to hear Him, not even a Bible or book or radio or missionary. How can one accept Jesus if he does not hear or even know He exists? Is God unjust to punish for that? And though some may not hear, does not God's own creation loudly proclaim Him? So, it will be according to what is in their heart and what is put against their account and only God knows that. You can be sure of one thing, God is just and He will do right. And this is the call, find that lost sheep. terrib |

31 | Does a person who never hears about Jesu | Rom 2:14 | terrib | 151921
Greetings Otis and welcome to the forum, (Romans 2:14-16 KJV) For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;) In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel. The English Standard Version may state this clearer. (Romans 2:14-16 ESV) For when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do what the law requires, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law. They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness, and their conflicting thoughts accuse or even excuse them on that day when, according to my gospel, God judges the secrets of men by Christ Jesus. From the garden came the knowledge of good and evil, thus a law in itself. You could do what you knew to be good or not, but all things will be revealed in the last day, whether to justification or to destruction. (Luke 12:2 KJV) For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. terrib |

32 | Who are the spirits in 1 Peter 3 v 19? | 1 Pet 3:19 | terrib | 151913
Greetings Diomede, (1 Peter 3:19 KJV) By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; "By which" - Spirit, his own Divine energy and authority. "He went and preached" - By the ministry of Noah, one hundred and twenty years. "Unto the spirits in prison" - The inhabitants of the antediluvian world, who, having been disobedient, and convicted of the most flagrant transgressions against God, were sentenced by his just law to destruction. But their punishment was delayed to see if they would repent; and the long-suffering of God waited one hundred and twenty years, which were granted to them for this purpose; during which time, as criminals tried and convicted, they are represented as being in prison - detained under the arrest of Divine justice, which waited either for their repentance or the expiration of the respite, that the punishment pronounced might be inflicted. (Adam Clarke's Commentary on the Bible) (Genesis 6:3 KJV) And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. Noah, a preacher: (2 Peter 2:5 KJV) And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; Hope this helps, terrib |

34 | Can judgement happen before sin? | 1 Tim 5:24 | terrib | 151908
Hi Born Twice, It's about Timothy and his office of steward of the church. Albert Barnes: The apostle had given Timothy a charge 1Ti 5:22 respecting the character of those whom he should ordain. He here says, in reference to that, that the character of some people was manifest. There was no disguise. It was evident to all what it was, and there could be no danger of mistake respecting it. Their conduct was apparent to all. About such people he ought not to hesitate a moment, and, no matter what their talents, or learning, or rank in the community, he ought to have no participation in introducing them to the ministry. Going before to judgment - Their character is well understood. There is no need of waiting for the day of judgment to know what they are. Their deeds so precede their own appearance at the judgment-bar, that the record and the verdict can be made up before they arrive there, and there will be scarcely need even of the formality of a trial. The meaning here is, that there could be no doubt about the character of such people, and Timothy should not be accessory to their being introduced into the office of the ministry. "And some men they follow after" - That is, their character is not fully understood here. They conceal their plans. They practice deception. They appear different from what they really are. But the character of such people will be developed, and they will be judged according to their works. They cannot hope to escape with impunity. Though they have endeavored to hide their evil deeds, yet they will follow after them to the judgment-bar, and will meet them there. The meaning, in this connection, seems to be, that there ought to be circumspection in judging of the qualifications of men for the office of the ministry. verse 25 continues. Hope this helps, terrib |

35 | kissing | Matt 4:7 | terrib | 151897

36 | sexuality | Matt 4:7 | terrib | 151891
Hi jtvd, Maybe you could explain what "kissing romanticly" means to you? Does this include arousal or using other parts of the mouth besides the lips? (James 1:14 KJV) But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. (James 1:15 KJV) Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. When do you know that it is time to stop "making out"? And at that time, can you stop? When does the partner become aroused? Can you tell? Is she or he starting on the path of lust? Just when does this take place? Do not put a stumbling stone in front of your brother. terrib |

37 | sexuality | Matt 4:7 | terrib | 151829
Hello jtvd, Good question. Now...which chamber is the bullet in? (Matthew 4:7 KJV) Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. (Matthew 6:24 KJV) No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. How much of the world can I hang onto? Proclaim to your date just where you stand. For once the roller coaster goes over that first hill, the ride isn't over until it is finished. Each man is built different but what is not of faith is sin.(Romans 14:23 KJV) terrib |

38 | husband feels last. baby and teenager??? | Eph 5:31 | terrib | 151823
Greetings Southernbell, Welcome to this forum! Husband and wife are bound to each other by command and an oath, before God. Your husband comes first, not your children. (Ephesians 5:31 KJV) For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. (1 Corinthians 11:3 KJV) But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. (1 Corinthians 11:9 KJV) Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man. To the children it is written: (Ephesians 6:1 KJV) Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. (Ephesians 6:2 KJV) Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) (Ephesians 6:3 KJV) That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. It is our duty to rear children correctly: (Ephesians 6:4 KJV) And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. We do not inherit from our children, they inherit from us. (Genesis 25:5 KJV) And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac. terrib |

Hi Ray, "Should it be You or you for Job 35:3?" If you read the context it is Elihu speaking to Job. Why would you want to make Job divine? Job 35:1 Moreover Elihu answered and said, Job 35:2 Thinkest thou this to be thy right, Or sayest thou, My righteousness is more than God's, Job 35:3 That thou sayest, What advantage will it be unto thee? And, What profit shall I have, more than if I had sinned? terrib |
