23 | Is bap to New what circum was to Old? | Bible general Archive 1 | meusing | 43435
Some churches 'reformed' believe that infant baptism has replaced circumcision as a symbol of entering the Church of God. Others believe that baptism is a person's identifying himself with what has been done in the new birth as a symbol of new resurrected life. |

24 | Where is "Lev. 32:2" in the Bible? | Bible general Archive 1 | meusing | 43489
I thought I apopgised for my mistake when I wrote ... Note: Please forgive me, that is chapter 23. Sometimes my dysexia gets away from me. But i think my question is valid, why would a people who do not keep the Hebrew calender, who live on the northwest coast of British Columbia on Haida-Guai (the Queen Charlot Islands) keep the Passover or the feast of Tabernacles? the winds and rain would blow over any booth of branches. You are right that a vister has to keep the laws of the country he is in. when My brother first went to Saudi Arabia to work for ARAMCO, he had long hair. The first time that he drove a car in Saudi, he was pulled over, because he was mistaken for a woman because of his hair, and it is ilegal in Saudi for a woman to drive a car. .................... You implied that Lev.23 applies to all people not just Israel; that all men everywhere are obliged to obey everything that is written in Lev. 23. That includes the Haida, the Cree, the Hurons, the Nishga ect. |

25 | Was the Law ever abolished or negated? | Bible general Archive 1 | meusing | 43492
The Law was fulfilled in Jesus as evidenced by those very verses. as Adam Clarke said ... Verse 17. Think not that I am come to destroy the law] Do not imagine that I am come to violate the law katalusai, from kata, and luw, I loose, violate, or dissolve-I am not come to make the law of none effect-to dissolve the connection which subsists between its several parts, or the obligation men are under to have their lives regulated by its moral precepts; nor am I come to dissolve the connecting reference it has to the good things promised. But I am come, plhrwsai, to complete-to perfect its connection and reference, to accomplish every thing shadowed forth in the Mosaic ritual, to fill up its great design; and to give grace to all my followers, plhrwsai, to fill up, or complete, every moral duty. In a word, Christ completed the law: 1st. In itself, it was only the shadow, the typical representation, of good things to come; and he added to it that which was necessary to make it perfect, HIS OWN SACRIFICE, without which it could neither satisfy God, nor sanctify men. 2dly. He completed it in himself by submitting to its types with an exact obedience, and verifying them by his death upon the cross. 3dly. He completes this law, and the sayings of his prophets, in his members, by giving them grace to love the Lord with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength, and their neighbour as themselves; for this is all the law and the prophets. |

26 | Was the Law ever abolished/negated? (2) | Bible general Archive 1 | meusing | 43581
Jesus fulfilled the Law. The Law was to bring us to jesus by pointing out that we can never keep it. the Law was given to the Children of Israel as a covenant which they broke. Jesus has givien us a new covenant in His blood. If you want to try to go to Heaven by keeping all the laws or go to hell, then let me ask you: did you or someone in your family cook any food today. If they did then they broke the LAW. |

27 | Was the Law nailed to the cross? | Bible general Archive 1 | meusing | 43637
Eph 2:14 For He is [Himself] our peace (our bond of unity and harmony). He has made us both [Jew and Gentile] one [body], and has broken down (destroyed, abolished) the hostile dividing wall between us, Eph 2:15 By abolishing in His [own crucified] flesh the enmity [caused by] the Law with its decrees and ordinances [which He annulled]; that He from the two might create in Himself one new man [one new quality of humanity out of the two], so making peace. Eph 2:16 And [He designed] to reconcile to God both [Jew and Gentile, united] in a single body by means of His cross, thereby killing the mutual enmity and bringing the feud to an end. |

28 | What has Eph 2:14-16 with Law/cross? | Bible general Archive 1 | meusing | 43688
Please read it. Eph 2:15 By abolishing in His [own crucified] flesh the enmity [caused by] the Law with its decrees and ordinances [which He annulled]; that He from the two might create in Himself one new man [one new quality of humanity out of the two], so making peace. It does not say that gentiles have to obey the Law to be saved, It says that He (Jesus) abolished in His flesh the enmity [caused by] the Law with its decrees and ordinances [which He annulled] |

29 | Is it is holy day or holiday? | Bible general Archive 1 | meusing | 43692
Our focus is to be on our Lord and Master Jesus Christ. Rom 14:4 Who are you to pass judgment on and censure another's household servant? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he shall stand and be upheld, for the Master (the Lord) is mighty to support him and make him stand. Rom 14:5 One man esteems one day as better than another, while another man esteems all days alike [sacred]. Let everyone be fully convinced (satisfied) in his own mind. Rom 14:6 He who observes the day, observes it in honor of the Lord. He also who eats, eats in honor of the Lord, since he gives thanks to God; while he who abstains, abstains in honor of the Lord and gives thanks to God. Rom 14:7 None of us lives to himself [but to the Lord], and none of us dies to himself [but to the Lord, for] Rom 14:8 If we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or we die, we belong to the Lord. Rom 14:9 For Christ died and lived again for this very purpose, that He might be Lord both of the dead and of the living. |

30 | Do you make one day holy or all? Rom14:5 | Bible general Archive 1 | meusing | 43700
Since I have been redeemed from the guilt of the law, every day that I live is holy because of what Jesus did on Calvary so I can live in resurrected life. Rom 5:1 THEREFORE, SINCE we are justified (acquitted, declared righteous, and given a right standing with God) through faith, let us [grasp the fact that we] have [the peace of reconciliation to hold and to enjoy] peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One). Rom 5:2 Through Him also we have [our] access (entrance, introduction) by faith into this grace (state of God's favor) in which we [firmly and safely] stand. And let us rejoice and exult in our hope of experiencing and enjoying the glory of God. Gal 2:19 For I through the Law [under the operation of the curse of the Law] have [in Christ's death for me] myself died to the Law and all the Law's demands upon me, so that I may [henceforth] live to and for God. Gal 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ [in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ (the Messiah) lives in me; and the life I now live in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me. Gal 2:21 [Therefore, I do not treat God's gracious gift as something of minor importance and defeat its very purpose]; I do not set aside and invalidate and frustrate and nullify the grace (unmerited favor) of God. For if justification (righteousness, acquittal from guilt) comes through [observing the ritual of] the Law, then Christ (the Messiah) died groundlessly and to no purpose and in vain. [His death was then wholly superfluous.] Rom 14:6 He who observes the day, observes it in honor of the Lord. |

31 | Does God know our Future? | Bible general Archive 1 | meusing | 44012
1. look at it this way, we in 3D can see the beginning and end of a line (2D) and every point (1D) inbetween at one glance. Now, expand our immagination to a infinite dimentional being who can see not only the beginning and ending of time (who, indeed created time), but all the quantum realities of that time line. 2. In light of that, 1Pe 1:20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, Re 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. |

1. What are you talking about? Jehovah is mentioned throughout the Bible. 2. Jesus was crucified on a cross, the Roman instrument of execution. He bore our sins on the cross. of course, as Paul said : 1 Cor 1:18 For the story and message of the cross is sheer absurdity and folly to those who are perishing and on their way to perdition, but to us who are being saved it is the [manifestation of] the power of God. |

38 | Saved yet unfruitful? | Bible general Archive 1 | meusing | 47143
salvation is our recognition that we are barren, and lacking in the fruits of the spirit in our life; that we need Jesus to bring us to a new birth. And, as new babes these things take time to grow in our lives. 2 Cor 13:5 tells us to test ourselves to see this growth -- to see if we are truely in the vine, and drawing of thelife-giveing power He speaks of in verse 4. That's just my meusing. I saw a study about testing ourselves : PROVE YOUR OWN SELVES. 2 COR. 13.5 This is a needful work. beware of the deceitfulness of the heart. This self-proving should be done-- 1. INSTANTLY. The secret of our failure should be searched out at once. 2. WILLINGLY. Are your prepared to know yourself? -- ready to have a sight of hidden sin? 3. CAREFULLY. Let no beloved sin decieve you. Judge each by their fruits. Don't label things hamless that are unholy. 4. FEARLESSLY. with the lamp of God's searching Word (Heb. 4:12) 5. MERCILESSLY. spare no Agag. Make confession. Acknowledge sin (Ps. 51:3). 6. HONESTLY. Be severe on the sin, but approve what is good. Distinguage between sin and infirmities. 7. PRAYERFULLY. Remember, the Lord alone can search the heart. "Search me, O God; try my heart," |

39 | How do I learn to trust in God. | Bible general Archive 1 | meusing | 47270
As we read the Bible we see that God is trustworthy. Seeing that being so, we step out of ourself and TRUST Him to keep His promises. Ps 1:2 But his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night. [Rom. 13:8-10; Gal. 3:1-29; II Tim. 3:16.] Ps 1:3 And he shall be like a tree firmly planted [and tended] by the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither; and everything he does shall prosper [and come to maturity]. [Jer. 17:7, 8.] Jer 17:7 [Most] blessed is the man who believes in, trusts in, and relies on the Lord, and whose hope and confidence the Lord is. Jer 17:8 For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters that spreads out its roots by the river; and it shall not see and fear when heat comes; but its leaf shall be green. It shall not be anxious and full of care in the year of drought, nor shall it cease yielding fruit. |
